My star rating of 3 is for the owner. My rating for Paula and crew is 5! I'm grateful for the outstanding service I've experienced at both Eye Trends Round Rock & Lakeline locations. The staff's professionalism, friendliness, and exceptional service are commendable. However, my concern lies in the absence of a backup plan for the single individual responsible for fulfilling eyeglass prescriptions, especially during their unavailability. In my view, it's imperative to expedite the training process for someone else to ensure continuity. If hiring a full-time or part-time employee isn't feasible, I strongly believe that considering a contract hire is a necessary step. read more

The dr is awesome but the stuff are terrible and rude, never call back and some are rude

I've been going to Dr Gardner for over a decade, and he is the REAL DEAL - he truly cares for his patients and is super realistic with recommendations and care. I never leave feeling sold to or rushed, which I absolutely love! It had been a few years since I'd been in for a visit, and Dr. Gardner asked about the dizziness I had experienced THREE YEARS PRIOR. I'm sure he had it in his chart somewhere, but I love that he would take the time to read my file and be so kind as to ask, even though we had established that the dizziness wasn't eye related already. He does seem to view health as a whole and understands how eye health is interrelated to broader health - I love this, too! He's also super relatable with stories of his wife, kids and other things going on - it's just nice to talk to a person. My visits are always super pleasant. I will never go back to Eye Trends in Round Rock. Over the years the service has gotten worse and worse therefore I definitely do no recommend this place. Your glasses will be months (I'm not exaggerating) late and when you call for a status update they'll promise to call you back but they won't. When you call them back to thank them for not following up like they promised they'll just hang up on you. Anywhere has to be better than this place. So therefore my family and I will never return. read more

This was the first time going to Eye Trends in Round Rock, TX. The optometrist, Dr. Gardiner was fantastic;however, not that much could be said for the office staff. They were nice when I was in there, multiple times but their customer service and office manager was awful! I ordered a pair of RX glasses on 4/7....its now 5/13 and still haven't received them. After 3 weeks waiting I called the office and was told 1 more week..I told them I need them before I go out of town 5/4..still nothing. I went in their office 5/4..was told they were shipped via FedEx 5/1 fm the manufacturer and they are putting a trace on them and someone would call me back..nothing. I've tried several attempts to call..leave messages and was told a manager would call me back afteri was told they couldn'tfind them???. I then advised I wanted my glasses or a refund that day..that was this past Wed..today is sat 5/13 and no one has yet to call me back. Appears I need to take this to the next level since you can't keep money for products not received..its called theft! Good Dr..horrible office staff! I don't recommend them..unless you like giving away free money.... read more

My daughter went in to pick up her contacts I ordered for her. Since I wasn't there, they weren't friendly to her. They gave her the contacts but was rude since she wasn't adult. True colors shown. read more

Dr. Gardiner is very kind and friendly, he takes time to explain everything. He really cares about your eyes. But, the 1 star is for his staff. They have the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. Dr. Gardiner needs to get rid of all of them or maybe he only need to replace the worthless office manager. They have taken the time to phone me when they saw that I had made an appoinment at the other branch, as they realised that I may prefer the Round Rock location. I am a special case, with keratoconus that has recently gotten worse. (It does that.) After a mutually frustrating attempt to update my prescription with my (then) usual eye doctor, HE referred me to Dr. Gardiner. The exam was quick, courteous, and informative. He and the staff LISTENED. And he honed in on a prescription without any fuss. I've got a new ophthalmologist. read more

I have been going to Dr. Gardner for a few years now. With the exception of last year, I had moved out of town. Once we move back in the area, he was the first doctor I made an appointment with. My husband went to him for the first time as well and really enjoyed his experience. Dr.Gardner is very kind, friendly, and explains what is going on with your eyes. Dr. Gardiner is very personable and takes the time to sit and talk with me about my eye care and any questions I may have. He never makes me feel rushed through his office. I have taken my 12 year old daughter here as well since she was 8 years old. Both Dr. Gardiner and his staff are very good with kids. My insurance has changed a few times over the years and his staff always helps me maximize my savings. Dr. Gardiner has excellent office hours on the weekdays and even some weekend hours, so it's always easy to schedule a convenient appointment. Walked in here and was not greeted at all. I was there for 15 minutes and none of the three girls at the desk said a word. When I finally approached them they had an attitude because I asked about a frame they no longer had. They wouldn't even get off their butts to show me where Kate spade glasses were. My husband and I both came in needing glasses. We both left irritated. Horrible service!!!! read more

The doctor was super nice and very attentive. And the girls in the front were also great! The lady that was assisting me before the doctor arrived was nice and patient with my anxious self. The only downside, is trying to get a frame to fit properly. I've made a few trips to get them tighter because they keep sliding off my face. read more

I have been going to Eye Trends for quite a few years now, and I am extremely happy with Dr. Gardiner. He is knowledgeable and thorough, and takes time to explain everything very clearly. Additionally, he is very calm and courteous. It is reassuring just to have an exam. A few years ago, I decided to go to an opthalmologist, thinking I should go to an M.D. every now and then. I like Dr. Gardner. He was very thorough and really made sure I was satisfied. I was having trouble seeing out my right eye due to some astigmatism and the doctor spent a solid hour with me testing and retesting to make sure he got things right. Old school diligence, which is hard to find these days. He had me come back for two follow up appointments at no additional charge to test different lenses and really make sure I had a good fit. In the end I had 20/15 vision out of both eyes with soft contacts. I solely rate my experience with the actual doctor as that is what you are paying for! And Dr. Gardner is excellent. I was thrilled with the eye doctor. Very kind, and patient with me and any questions I may have had. Gave me a good exam and I was very pleased with him. However there was a person on his staff that was just horrible. There is an older blonde haired woman on his staff that is needing to go back to school to learn how to be nice. She kept asking me about if I wanted single vision, computer or reading or did i want bi-focals, or tri-focals or did I want progressives and she was VERY PUSHY, I will admit that i got flustered and responded loudly I DON'T KNOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. She then said she would give me an education in glasses 101 and very quickly and rudely went through all 3, then when I asked for frames that would be under my max on my eye insurance including that I refused any extras such as special coating, etc... she just shut down completely and didn't even thank my family for coming. RUDE RUDE RUDE. Then when I went back in the office shortly after leaving I asked the doctor about bi-focals, etc.. and he said in front of her "You don't need any of that just single vision computer is all you need". So the doctor seems to care but his staff wants you out of there if you aren't spending hundreds of dollars. The doctor is the only reason I'm giving this place a "GOOD" rating. read more
