I recently moved to Chicago and read so many reviews on so many other stylists but I am so lucky to have found her. She is very responsive and eager to answer any questions you may have. Book ahead of time and plan accordingly as she is in high demand! Now to the service! When we first went in to the salon she made sure I was comfortable and went over what I wanted again to ensure I was going to like the style. One tip I'll say over and over again is LISTEN TO SHAY! You may have a style in mind but if she makes a recommendation - go with it and I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised. I was at the hair appointment from 730-330PM and she even let me take a break so I could eat lunch in the salon (she really makes it feel like home). My hair looked IMPECCABLE when it was done. Her technique is unique and you leave WITHOUT your head feeling tight as hell. It has been 6 weeks since my appointment and my hair still looks AMAZING. Other than the natural hair growth - my locs haven't budged!!! Well worth the $400 for long locs. I will not go to anyone else in Chicago for my hair! She really cares about you as a person, and as a client. It shows in her work.

Introduce the legendary (drum rolls please)....Carolyn Marie Dudash!!…read more Carolyn did it! She now has her own space, and we, the loyal clients, have vowed to follow her wherever she goes. I found her as my go-to hair dresser while she was at Vanite in Boystown three (3) years ago. All I have to say is: she KNOWS hair, with a gigantic capital "K." My thick Asian hair looks better than ever because of her artistic touch. I'm an extreme minimalist when it comes hair. In other words, I don't put products on it; I don't really use special shampoo or conditioner; I simply blow-dry my hair usually if I have time (or leave it alone if time isn't on my side). However, Miss Carolyn takes care of me and I'm more than happy to see her every eight (8) weeks. "Carolyn Marie" is located inside Sola Salon, diagonally across from the CTA Paulina Brown Line station. Look for "suite #23." Check out her Instagram photos. She's an amazing colorist!

I am SO picky when it comes to my bob haircut and finding the perfect shade of blonde for the season. I'm always wanting to try something new, and Carolyn never ceases to amaze me. This lady knows hair! It's rare for me to say "I Trust You" when it comes to my hair, but I completely put all my trust in her! Her new space is so cute! And can we talk about the shampoo bowl? It's COMFORTABLE! Is that a thing?! It's cushioned and lowers to your height so that you don't get that little crick in your neck. Matched with the scalp massage and calming spa music? It's heaven! Carolyn Marie Hair is a must!

My boyfriend actually gasped in horror when I got home. I was flat out denied even a partial refund I can't stop crying every time I look at myself. By that I mean that I use shampoo, conditioner, and dry my hair with my hands and a blower dryer - not a ton of styling. Jennifer seems to somehow know what I want each time, even when I truly don't, and it always looks amazing. She helps me try new styles, and I would honestly trust her with anything she recommends. While I haven't been to the new space, I didn't second guess my answer when she asked if I would consider changing location. My partner will be seeing her soon, too, and she is more than willing to make the experience accessible (aka earplugs, not much convo,, low sensory, etc). You cannot go wrong with Jennifer, and I can't recommend her enough. I saw my previous person for 20 years, and Jennifer has not disappointed! Update: I visited Jennifer's new digs at Salon Molecule and it did not disappoint! Love the plants, super bright sunny space, and location. It's very close to the Montrose brown line and plenty of parking available. My hair feels as good as always thanks to Jennifer!
