I had such a wonderful experience at Eye Encounters Vision Center on Morrell Avenue in Philadelphia! Anna and Emily truly go above and beyond for their patients. They are incredibly kind, patient, and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. They take the time to answer every question and genuinely care about helping you get the best care possible. The entire office is welcoming, and the eye doctor at that location is absolutely amazing as well. It's so refreshing to find a team that is not only professional, but also so warm and attentive. They have a beautiful collection of glasses to choose from. I chose a beautiful pair by Coach. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for exceptional service and a great overall experience! Awful customer service, limited selection, and they don't even fit the glasses to your face! I just received two pairs and the prescription isn't right. I mentioned that they felt weaker and I couldn't see through them as well when I went to pick them up and was told my eyes just need to "adjust" I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years, I understand adjusting to a new prescription. But I don't understand giving someone glasses they can't see well out of! I'll give it a week to see if it somehow magically improves and I'll update my review accordingly if it does. read more

In 2021, had similar bad situations with the old staff manager and the young girls at the Morrell Store. They did nothing right from the beginning, with the eye exam, the correct prescription, and assisting with the selection of my frames for the type to fit my face and the size needed for proper vision. They did not know their job and did not care. I was in their office weekly, they lied and hide when they saw me coming. I even called them out on their behavior. Last month in 2022, I walked in and saw a new staff, Anna Marie, the Manager, and Dominique, wonderful ladies. I explained my situation, they listened and amazingly they went out of their way to rectify my problem with my vision and prescription. I was so glad I went back into the store. I was treated with understanding and compassion, and they were ready to undo the wrong that was done by poor former employees. They made me happy and had my correct vision corrected. They were very apologetic, and these employees are no longer there. Please give the new knowledgeable staff at the Morrell Store another chance to prove they care and provide the service that is expected. I NEVER complain when dealing with employees in customer service! This is because I myself have worked in the industry for over 20 years. But this one incident, I CANNOT ignore. I was recommended from an acquittance to come to one of the Eye Encounter locations. I was treated AMAZING! Their products were top of the line and this staff who worked their at the time, really took care of me! Unfortunately, after that great experience, I transferred to another location due to changing my residence. This place started out well. UNTIL, I came across a problem with my glasses. I have poor eyesight that is declining with age. I DEPEND on my glasses/contacts to SEE obviously. You would think their representatives at this location would treat me (a customer for several years here) with respect and consideration? NOPE!! I admitted to these ladies at the Aramingo location that I consistently am sitting on my glasses because I move way too fast. My mother has told me this since I was a young child. Anyway, I came back here to fix or replace my frames. TWICE. LOL. So I know people make mistakes. Also, I never expect perfection. I just want decency when asking for help. I came back this time because after the Dr. increased my prescription, added glare protection as I requested, I was having a VERY difficult time seeing as well as experiencing dizziness and nausea from these new glasses given to me. I have had glasses since I was a child, so I know it takes time for your eyes to adjust. I allowed this time to go by, (about 3 weeks) before contacting this establishment and requesting to correct this problem. When I spoke with the lady on the phone, she stated my prescription was barely increased and the DR. stated I shouldn't have a problem. I Insisted on the Dr. changing me back to my old script because I then I would be able to SEE and not be UNCOMFORTABLE. They said OK. I was HAPPY, for the time being. I suggested contacts (which are very uncomfortable for me to wear due to Severe dry eyes), but I would do anything to be able to see. They told me I couldn't get contacts because their was no script. So i moved on from that option. So you can see here, I wasn't being a "difficult" customer, I just wanted to be able to SEE and not be dizzy! I realized I am closer now to the Morrell location, so I called them and asked to relocate there. I visited this location very recently, and met the manager there and the other woman behind the desk. I do not like to start trouble or cause waves, never have since I was a child. BUT, their behavior and customer service skills were APPALLING. They convinced me to save money and go thru my insurance company, where I (as a single mother struggling financially) would not have to pay any money. Of course, I agreed. My story is almost over folks! A few days later, I called to see if my glasses were ready because I only had prescription tinted glasses at home to use in the time being. Which these ladies were aware of and suggested I "stick it out" for 2 WEEKS until my new glasses come in to their store. See, I could have received my fixed glasses in only a few days IF they sent them to their lab. Why didn't I? Well, I would have to pay "60$" to go that route they told me. Oh I forgot!! I left at the best part!!! While I was at Eye Encounters on Morrell Ave, the one lady behind the desk stated to her Manager that the Aramingo location screwed up my original glasses! They "switched" the prescription, meaning my right eye was in my left, vice versa. I was not angry but RELIEVED. I wasn't CRAZY, as both stores made me feel, but wearing glasses that were Incorrect! CONCLUSION???? These ladies DENIED finding this IMPORTANT detail regarding my glasses, which was stated in FRONT OF ME!!! After I was told this from another employee this was happening, I was SICK to my stomach. Why would they do that to a customer? I understand people make mistakes, for I have made several! NO human being is perfect. I suggested Eye Encounters should have compensated me the 60$ for new glasses because they SCREWED up my prescription. I was patronized over the phone about this suggestion! I will NEVER go back to this company! I called the Morrell location and told them to CANCEL my glasses and I will NOT be returning ever again! This could have been handled in many other ways by their staff, and I am disgusted with how I was treated!!! I STILL have no GLASSES!!!!!!! No-one reached out to me after. I understand I canceled the order out of disgust and frustration. But WOW, you would think someone would at least reach out and APOLOGIZE for the way my situation was handled. I believe this was completely unacceptable and I am baffled by the outcome. read more

I don't usually take the time to write reviews but this experience was so terrible that I felt like I had to do it. Their selection of frames are terrible so I picked what I thought was a nice one. 3 months later by just putting them on my face they snapped. I tried gluing them but they kept coming apart. Finally I needed new glasses so i went in and ordered them. I was told they'd be done by Tues or Wednesday cause of the holiday after I told them I was getting bad headaches and needed my glasses. They didn't come in till Friday and of course I was out of town when they did. So i struggled thru the weekend and couldn't wait to get my new pair so I could be comfortable again. When I walked in today to pick them up and the girl tried to put my lenses in....Guess what....she ordered the wrong size frames After about 20 mins of watching her try and put my lenses in to the wrong size frames by squeezing them finally I gave up and said ya know what can I have my prescription and she seeming annoyed wrote it down for me and put my lenses back in my broken frame dirty as hell from her fingerprints. When I went to order a new pair online from oakley I discovered that they didn't write the whole prescription in right...so i tried to call....but they were closed 20 mins before they were supposed to. Now I don't have glasses....have to go to work tomorrow and can't order my new ones till the store opens tomorrow. This store is a disaster. I won't go there ever again. read more
