I won't get into details, but I left feeling extremely embarrassed and mistreated ended up crying in my car. Recently, my ophthalmologist referred me back here for prescription glasses and told me there's a new doctor now. Since it's close to where I live, I decided to give it another try. Dr. Mai is amazing. I work in healthcare, and it's honestly rare to find a doctor who truly listens and takes the time to explain everything. I am being monitored for a possible serious condition, and for the first time, I felt like someone really explained and gave me a clear explanation and had set a realistic expectation for what i could have. Im also experiencing a couple of symptoms that were never explained to me well and she threaded through each of my concerns one by one and explained her diagnosis and recommendations very clearly. I walked out feeling relieved, understood, and at ease that I am under the care of an amazing doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Mai!

Terrible experience at Inland Optometric Associates with Dr. Mai Nguyen…read more They tried to charge me $145 for a contact lens trial that usually costs around $80 elsewhere, with no clear explanation. After my exam, I was only given a glasses prescription. When I asked for my contact lens prescription, I was told I didn't get it because I hadn't paid the trial--despite the exam already being done. It honestly felt like they were withholding my prescription to force extra charges. Even worse, their attitude suddenly changed when I mentioned contacting my insurance. Very unprofessional, not transparent, and not trustworthy. I would not recommend this place at all.

Not only was he capable of showing up for his patients; his staff are extremely well trained and know how to follow up with their patients. They gave me an immediate appointment and was able to get my glasses in a couple of days vs a couple of weeks! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!

LOL This was a fine reputable business under Gary Freestone and his crew, but ever since this corporation took over, it's been nothing but bad service. Freestone is gone and so are his wonderful and helpful employees. All that is left are apologies. I expect that we shall be looking for a new optometrist next year.

Instead of showing concern or even speaking with me briefly, the office refused to engage until my insurance card was provided. In that moment, it no longer felt like a relationship with a healthcare provider. It felt like a retail transaction--as if the first priority was whether I could pay, not whether I was okay. This was especially disappointing considering I did have insurance and was fully able to pay out of pocket if needed. The lack of compassion and basic care in a moment of fear was a huge letdown. I never went back after that incident, and I moved my entire family's care elsewhere. Once healthcare starts feeling transactional instead of human, it's time to leave.
