It's December 26, 2025. Friday. We called the phone number and an Artificial Intelligence voice fielded the call. We asked if the office was open and whether we could pick up our glasses. AI said the office was open until 5:00. So we showed up at 3:30 and signed in. Promptly we were told by the real people there that they were short-handed and if we wanted to pick up our glasses but not get them fitted, we can take them and come back later. LOL This was a fine reputable business under Gary Freestone and his crew, but ever since this corporation took over, it's been nothing but bad service. Freestone is gone and so are his wonderful and helpful employees. All that is left are apologies. I expect that we shall be looking for a new optometrist next year. read more

This was my first visit at NorthPointe. The building the office is in is old but don't let that fool you. NorthPoint is located on the 2nd floor and the optometrist suite is very large and modern. They have the latest equipment and looks to have a very large selection of frames to choose from. I especially like the automated assistant used when you call to make an appointment. They do text reminders and you can complete forms online. The optometrist at NorthPoint is great! read more

So this is a late review, i got my glasses from this establishment late last year. Getting my exam and picking out my glasses went excellent, until i went to go pick up my new glasses. A younger lady that seemed to be training was helping me adjust my glasses, when she seemed to have issues with adjusting my nose pieces, thats when she called over another older lady. This is when things went south, she was incredibly rude. She couldn't adjust my nose pieces correctly and became upset. Telling me "you know, your face isnt symetrical." Be that as it may, my glasses still need to sit on my face properly....anyways i had to go to my old optometrist to get them fixed (kinda) now im stuck with glasses i JUST GOT and paid alot of money for with cracks in the lens where they kept bending my nose piece and the cherry on top...they still dont sit right on my face lol. I'm definatly not happy with this place, for one I had been going there for like 20 years , and it was sold to a new company it was freestone booth , and I was not notified with the change of ownership , than when I called to make the appointment they were like we don't take your insurance anymore , so after getting my glasses and my eye care as a type one diabetic you could only imagine my surprise and disappointment on all areas of their , proffesinality , not good at all !!! read more

Horrible!! They took 8+ months to give me my glasses, and were rude and unprofessional whenever I would call for updates. I was just told 2 more weeks, repeatedly. When I asked for a copy of my prescription to get glasses elsewhere meanwhile mine were finally done, they gave me an inaccurate prescription number! AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

Staff and Dr were all amazing here! I can't say enough great things about the dr. He seen myself and 2 kiddos all in the same visit. He was kind and very patient with the little ones. He explained everything thoroughly and I didn't feel pressured to purchase or pressured into needing a bunch of extras. The opticians were so kind and worked with my oldest trying on lots of lenses to ensure he picked a winner. She truly took her time and gave him her undivided attention until he felt confident in his glasses. I love this place so much I even made an appointment for my husband. Can't wait to get my glasses. Staff was on top of temperature readings as well as sanitation! Much appreciated during these crazy times. read more

Okay, so, I've been a customer of Dr. Freestone's for about 3 years. Usually the service is great. However today it wasn't. I called prior to going to the office and I was told that they reopen after lunch at 2:00. However, when I arrived the sign on the door said they return at 2:30. So I waited in my car for 30 minutes. I went in at 2:30 and asked if I could drop my glasses off since all I wanted to do is have them repaired. I was told, "no" I would have to see a technician. Fine. I waited for 45 minutes just to be told what I already knew. The frames were under warranty and would have to be replaced. I really think that they should allow for the glasses to be dropped off and then they can call the client with their recommendations. I'm glad that my frames are going to be replaced, but I did not like the fact that I had to wait 45 minutes for them to tell me that! read more

I went in for a routine eye exam and a few days later, I had a horrible eye infection and eye pain . I called trying to go in and see the doctor since my primary dr couldn't do much about it. I called and the receptionist ,(the very large woman at the front desk ) told me in a rude way , that I was lying and that there was no way I could have had an eye infection just from going to the eye doctor . I tried to explain that I was put on the equipment to do my vision exam as well as the eye pressure check , and I could have gotten it from one of those , she laughed and said it was impossible and if I wanted to see the eye doctor it would be 85 dollars. She was also very rude when I had gone in for my eye exam. I didn't catch her name but she was the only extremely obese person working there . read more

Dr Freestone is wonderful and basically the only thing keeping us at this location, but I'm not sure for how much longer. Trying to get a hold of anyone to talk to is nearly impossible. The wait to choose or pick up glasses/contacts is ridiculous. And since they changed to Northpointe it's even worse. I left a message a week ago to get an appointment, plus 3 other messages throughout the week and still haven't heard back. Dr Freestone has been highly recommended by many and I can see why. He's great. But pretty much everything else is awful. read more

The first time we went to this office for my mom it wasn't too bad. This was about 3 years ago. The last two times we have been here they have made us wait for over an hour which is a ridiculous amount of time. Even during Covid, I have never waited this long for a doctor and while we were waiting so many patients were in the waiting room. That should have been a red flag to not go this year for another appointment since they obviously are not following covid protocols with so many people waiting. They finally let me mom in and gave her only one option for her glasses through Medicare. We waited almost three months for her glasses and even though they said there was a delay from the labs it turned out they had her glasses in the office for weeks. They just never bothered to check and call her to let her know they were in. I had been calling the office every week after the sixth week and was told they were not in. After week 12, I went in to talk to a supervisor or office manager, but all of a sudden they found the glasses. They had been there the whole time. I have never been to such an incompetent office with such lack of communication and respect for patients. The cheap glasses they gave my mom broke within a few months. I don't want to deal with them and called to ask for a prescription and of course they keep telling me that the doctor needs to sign it. Ok, I get that but why does it take more than 5 days, and counting...... I've called multiple times, emailed and now writing this review. Maybe, if they care, I will get the darn prescription after they read this review. I highly doubt they care though. My next call is to the Better Business Bureau and maybe they can investigate this office and their practices. read more

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We were referred to them by a family member. Have been once. Since my apt. on April 18 I have been trying to get my 2nd prescription glasses that were ordered then. I Received 1 set. Finally in May someone answered the phone and told me my frames were LOST and had to reorder them. I was actually able to talk to someone first part of June and was told they would be in June 26. I have left over 5 messages the month of July, calling different times of the day, only to continually get an answering machine, leaving detailed messages. I still have not received a response. My wife has also left messages to schedule an eye exam, no call back. We have been out of town, but when we return next week it will be the first place we visit! We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

I've been going here since 7 years ago. My first time was splendid, dr is amazing. I received my glasses with no issues and on time. This time however, I have waited longer then 2 months to get my prescription glasses. Not even a phone call. I have called multiple times left my information. Today I called to ask where they are. The woman said "let me check the back" ?!? If they got them why didn't they get ahold of me. Now she is saying someone has to double check them and it won't be for a couple days. Dr. Freestone was very accommodating around my schedule. We split my visit into two sessions. He was very thorough. He made sure to take his time to ensure I was comfortable with the contact lenses before ordering my prescription. Wait times of course can be longer but that's the norm just because of all the restrictions on businesses. This will be my new orthodontist going forward. read more

During a glasses adjustment, this older technician lady put her hand on my chin and lifted my face herself as if I was a child - She's supposed to just tell me to look up, not put her hands on me. I found that to be disrespectful and rude. Also while trying on the glasses, I was in the process of putting them on and I could already feel that it was crooked so I stated that, she then interrupted and raised her voice to tell me that it was on crooked while reaching over to shove my glasses on my ear while I was still in the process of putting them on and adjusting them myself. Why did she put her hands on me like that? What made her think she had the right to treat me as if I am a child? Super rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Who hired her? This technician seemed like a combative person, and the new doctor there also had an attitude for no good reason. This place is not the same since Dr. Freestone retired, very sad! read more

This is a really nice optometry office, and the staff is friendly as well. The wait times can be a little longer than one would like but over all they're thorough.The optician was really professional and explained things every step of the way. My only complaint would be that there's no food or drink allowed in the office. I understand that to a certain extent, my drink had a lid. Every time I call this office I'm always put on hold and told there are 5 calls in front of me. I even hung up, called back after 11 minutes of waiting only to be told there are 4 callers in front of me. All I want is a copy of my prescription, which I wasn't given when I picked up my glasses. I was told it had to signed by the doctor and it would be sent to me, but that hasn't happened yet. My advice is only call this office if you have nothing else to do. My 2 stars are only because my glasses are great. Not worth the disrespect of people's time however! read more

Was waiting over an hour and a half to be seen and I had an appointment. Someone who got there after me was seen first. After waiting ridiculously long I decided to leave and schedule at another office. This was a joke. And when I asked them what was taking so long all they said was "We'll get to you." What's the point oh having an appointment if the wait is more than an hour and a half. I would give -2 if could. My one and only time (2 years ago) I really liked the doctor. Been trying to go back. Been trying to make an appointment since last December. Actually, had an appointment and they canceled it (I think they all went on vacation). So tried again April. Made appointment and... they canceled (must thought taking Easter week off is better). Been trying since then then, and they never answer the phone, or return :"if don't want to wait on line". Must be nice to have so much business money that don't care. Would of liked to have seen Optometrist I thought I found, nope! So, now have to find another places and new patient all over again. In meantime, going to Lens Crafters to get done. Even though I have insurance, LC doesn't take so I will be paying cash, because Freestone doesn't need to answer phone. I'm paying cash with IEHP/medical insurance... sure they want to hear about that; am filing a complaint with State. Maybe they'll loose their license! Goodbye. read more

It's been a month and I still haven't received my prescription for eye glasses, I'm not buying lenses from them and asked if I could have my prescription to go somewhere else if I wanted to and they were sounding like they couldn't do that. I've emailed them like they said and they told me it should be 24 hrs until they email me my prescription a month later and still nothing. read more

Dr freestone is the best, I have been his patient for over 25 years I wouldn't go anywhere else. He is very knowledgeable and professional. If your looking for a place you found it! Staff is great, I read on some of the reviews that the wait was long but personally i never had that issue. If anything I would think the reason they might take long if because the quality in care they put in to your visit they address all and any issues you may have. Fantastic place!!!! read more

Went in on a Saturday by appointment and got seated pretty quickly since I was the only one waiting, got some test done then the dr came in rather quickly. His name was Dr. Ball I believe. He was very kind and informative and explained what kind of eyesight I have. Then I got taken back to view the frames and the lady was nice and showing me the kind of frames I like. My mom had an appointment at 11 (mines was at 10:40) so I asked if I can wait for her to come out and she can help me choose and she was patient, really nice! I think her name was Dani. Then we chose our frames rather quickly. They have a good amount selections but nothing super high end like ray bans Prada etc. I saw Calvin Klein though. The only thing was we weren't told how long it would take to receive the glasses so come Monday I'll call and ask! Looking forward to my glasses! read more

I have gone to Freestone for many years. The doctors are great and the staff is nice but there have been a couple of disappointing issues this year when it came to ordering my contacts. I was on my last pair of contacts and one of my contacts was bothering me. I had an appointment in 2 weeks but I asked if I can get a spare contact and no one really got back to me. When I finally had my appointment, I found out that my eye was scratched and I had to go on drops for 10 days. I told the doctor that I had called to get a spare contact, since it had been irritating me and he said he was never told about it. Now once again they barely ordered contacts that I have been trying to get for 3 weeks now. Hopefully I wont have an issue with my remaining contacts and have a scratched eye again. read more

I'm going to leave my rating for this office at a four because Dr. Freestone is a really good doctor who takes him time with his patients and educates them on any info pertaining to the eyes. The assisting staff is another story. They either don't communicate with each other, don't understand what their doing, don't care or all the above. They take an unusual long amount of time to order follow up and notify patients. First time patient. Read various reviews before making an official appointment. First and foremost, it was an ease arranging an appointment date and time with the staff. Received a text reminder for both appointment and a link to complete my check in online; this step alone saved me from long wait times. I was called into the office 10 - 15min after my arrival (not bad) got my eyes checked by a pleasant young lady, then was placed in a room. Dr. Freestone came in 2 - 5min later, again not too bad of a waiting time. Dr. Freestone is absolutely fantastic! He spent quite some time with me. He conducted various tests, was thorough communicating why he conducted the exams, he gave me some educational lessons pertaining to the eye and flourescent lighting (I have sensitivity to light), he is so delightul! Once he completed tests / exams I was escorted by a young lady to the room where patients get to choose their glass frames. The young lady greeted me politely and asked me if I was looking for a particular shape. I let her know and she brought me various pairs to try out before I made a final decision. She was also pleasant and patient with me while I tried on various frames. Overall, my visit was quick and educational. I will be waiting in anticipation for my beautiful new frames.
