If you are referred to Dr kent demand another referral to any doctor but him. He will tell you he will do something and never follow through! He tried for force me to get cataract surgery when the problem was I have really bad floaters. The surgery would do nothing because I can not see through the floaters. Dr. Kent is very good, and the staff does its best. The drawback is the difficulty finding a parking space in a small lot. Which government entity approved this? Second problem is that this clinic overbooks, stacks its patients into the waiting room and you WILL wait 15-25 min or longer to start your appointment. Then, it's a long wait for the doctor. A courtesy email would have been professional instead of me taking time to show up and have to cancel not prepared to pay close to $200.00 instead of my $40.00 co-pay. They make you wait for over and hour for the doctor. The doctor sees you for about 5 minutes. They never ordered my sons contacts and had to call the several times. They messed up my order for my contacts. Showed up for appointment today and they stated they did not have records/details of the contacts ordered. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! read more

I sat in their office for over an hour, waiting on my appointment. I saw the doctor, he told me he would review my records and get back to me, and never did. I have something very serious going on with my eyes, but he didn't care enough to check into it further, only to charge me for my visit. Avoid! just now I came into The Eye Associates because of the good reviews that were listed on Google. This appeared not to be the case after having to go back and forth to the building within a 3 month timeframe. I came in simply for an eye exam, and wanted to replace my contacts that I had recently finsihed using. They told me I needed to go through a trial pair fitting, which I agreed to, and received a pair of contacts. Since I was going out of town, I brought the pair with me. While I was away the pair broke, and I continued to use my glasses. When I came back into town I called in and asked when I could come in to replace the trial pair that broke. They gave me an appointment, and I sat with the doctor again to review other brands that might fit my eyes more comfortably. After meeting with me, he told me that the pair he wanted me to try needed to be refilled and that they would call me within a week to try the new brand of contacts. After a week of waiting I received no phone calls, after a month still no phone call. I called them over the phone asking them if I could get my prescription over the phone, the lady I spoke with told me that she would review my file, and call me back that afternoon. Again, I got no phone call until a week later, the lady said that she needed to be reminded why I called, and I told her for my prescription. She shortly told me that she could not give me this information over the phone, and instead to come into the office. When I went back into the store to get both my prescription, and also the trial pair, I talked to a lady in the office. She told me that they never refilled the trial pair contacts that I was promised to receive because the optometrist forgot to inform them that I needed a new pair. This led me waiting another week, with another promised phone call for the new pair, in which I received no phone call. I called in a week later to double check that they would have the pair, turns out the pair was ready, and I did not receive a phone call for it. When I arrived at the office, I was asked several questions, including whether or not I had an appointment. However, I called in about an hour before I arrived and was told I did not need an appointment to pick up the contact lens. After explaining to the lady that I called in, she hesitantly grabbed a pair from the back and gave it me, without telling me when they expire, or when I should come back for another contact fitting. So after 3 months of trying to simply get my yearly supply of contacts, it has come back only with a trial pair, when I have tried to get a year supply, but was told I need to complete my contact fitting. read more

I was a patient there for more than 5 years. They used to do a good job but the optical department is useless. Dr Kent lied to me and then tried to switch doctors on me. Very unhappy with billing department. I called to question coding for insurance coverage as the coding assigned resulted in me and my husband getting a bill for the eye exam and it being applied to a medical deductible. Our service was definitely an annual eye exam not a medical service. It was not billed to our vision ins. which has full coverage. It took several calls, discussion with uncaring billing clerk, request to talk to department head, and No follow-up promised return call. When I made a final call to the Supervisor I was assured he would fix it....my confidence is low that it is fixed. A patient should not have to work so hard to get it done correctly and a billing department should be More receptive to a patient's concerns. read more

I have been a patient for going on 6 years and have never had a negative experience.

I don't know what the deal is with this place, but after 16 years of wearing corrective lenses then having LASIK (performed out of state) 14 years ago, I now need glasses for an astigmatism. I went to the ladies in the optical department to order frames and lenses. The frames came in a few weeks later with the wrong prescription, which I was told was the lab's fault. So lenses had to be reordered. 2nd time they came in a week and a half later, they are still wrong. Now it's been well over a month without the glasses I need and I'm having to take off work AGAIN to be seen by the doctor to fix my lenses for the 3rd time. In the 30 years I've been going to the eye doctor, I've never had such poor service. My husband has also had extremely poor service in the optical department. Super disappointed and we will be looking for a new eye doctor. UPDATE: I went back to see the doctor to check the prescription and it was correct. What I found out that is incorrect, is the lenses. The doctor apologized profusely and told me the problem is human error - that the ladies in the optical department entered my prescription into the computer incorrectly FOR THE SECOND TIME! I may return for eye exams here but I will go elsewhere for lenses and frames. I do not recommend the optical department. read more

My wife had a really painful stye that had abscesed. We have Tricare, so we had her PCM send a referral to an optometrist. The optometrist referred her to The Eye Associates to have the stye removed. My wife was in so much pain from the stye and needed immediate minor surgery. The Eye Associates said that they would drain the stye after they finish their morning appointments, which ended up taking 2 hours. After their morning appointments, they stated that they needed a referral direct from the PCM and not the optometrist. They expected my wife to take care of all the calls to tricare and her PCM , but never told her this until after making her wait 2 hours. My wife's PCM sent the referral within the hour but the doctor said it was to late because he would be late for his scheduled surgery. They refused to perform the surgery until having a referral and stated that we can pay the full surgery cost of $600 up front, but they will not bill insurance after they receive the payment. I spoke with 2 different ophthalmologist office whom were willing to perform surgery and bill tricare once the referral comes in, but after spending 3 hours at The Eye Associates, my wife resorted to visiting the ER to be sent to a specialist who did perform surgery that afternoon. The Eye Associates entire staff was extremely rude and their billing person was completely incompetent. Request a different provider if you get referred to The Eye Associates. read more

After 2 years as a patient, I like the eye doctor and assistants. So it is unfortunate that the billing and accounting department is horrible. They are extremely vague on insurance coverage and forget about having them explain the final billing...nothing seems to be fully covered and other services not covered at all. Probably the insurance companies fault, but a simple explanation would make me feel better...(i.e. charged $100 and insurance only covers $60)...how hard is that????? Instead I get a mystery bill for $100 when I thought everything was covered. Lastly, I was sent the wrong contacts, then charged $20 more upon pickup because the prices had changed. Dr. Kent performed a PRK corrective procedure on my eyes. I work in the medical field and was well aware of Dr. Kent's ability as a surgeon and was sure that he was one of the best if not the best ophthalmologist in my area. My procedure was efficient with minimum discomfort. Dr. Kents staff was very professional as well as very helpful. In a little over a week since my procedure my vision is 20/20 and actually continues to improve! There is nothing simple about eye surgery getting the right surgeon has made a big difference both in my eyesight and in having 0 complications from the procedure. The communication at this office is not good. My husband saw a doctor who prescribed antibiotic eye drops for a cyst on his eye. He was told to use them 4x a day for a month and if it wasn't gone after that, to make an appointment to have it cut open and drained. We went back in after a month with no improvement of the cyst expecting to have it cut out. Our apt was at 430p. We didn't see the doctor until 630p. For those two hours, we saw multiple HCW passing us seeming to be in a rush and we were given no updates on timeframe or when we would be seen. After finally getting in to the doctor, he proceeded to tell us the eye drops we were prescribed were useless and to come back in two weeks if it hasn't improved after using hot compress. Mind you, the cyst has been present since October, 6 MONTHS, and is affecting his vision. It seemed like they just didn't want to start a procedure that late in the day and brushed us off for another two weeks. I wouldn't recommend this office unless you enjoy a 2 hours wait with no communication. read more

I am giving three stars because Dr. Dayton was great, however, their optician is absolutely the world's worst. First of all I can't understand one word she saying and second of all she did not check in when we were there to find out what our insurance covered -it took a week for her to call me back let me know the frames weren't covered so now we have wasted an entire week. I called the service provider and his lenses are covered but she didn't fill it out correctly so they didn't cover it with her. It's inconvenient because now I need to mess around and go pick up the prescription and go to somewhere else that knows how to actually do this in their optician department. Very frustrating. No mention of how to get back the co payment I made on the glasses. read more

Hmm. After looking at the other two reviews, it makes me wonder if I went to the same place. Overall, I had an excellent experience which says something in this day and age when medical appointments make me feel more and more like an number or a form - but not here! I can't comment on the negative optical shop experience because I didn't use them but the medical side of the office and the overall management was really great! The optician was personable, funny, and super-efficient. Dr. Rammell is so easygoing and I didn't feel rushed at all. The office/lobby has a nice feel to it - Coffee and cookies for patients, videos to pass the time, and a front office team that is welcoming. Thanks to the whole team - you clearly are working together for your patients (I know a few medical offices that could use your help)! read more

I am giving 2 stars because while I had excellent care with the Optometrist, the supporting staff leaves something to be desired. The optician that I have spoken to many times...is unintelligible. I could not understand ONE word and had to ask multiple times to please repeat herself. I even went into my closet and cranked up the volume and STILL struggled to understand her. They also seem to struggle with returning phone calls in a timely manner, or letting you know when your contacts and glasses have come in. read more
