I came here a while back for some food. Unfortunately they had a real nitwit for a cashier. I forget the exact pricing, but one of the items I bought was something like one for $1.25, two for $2.00. I wanted three.
I came to the register with an assortment of things. She rang everything up for approximately $10.00. Before I paid, I noticed that she sold me the three items for $3.25 instead of $3.00. I pointed this out and expected her to say something like "oops, I'm sorry" and correct it. Instead, she proceeded to tell me that $3.25 is the correct price, since the first two were sold for $2.00, the next one is considered a single purchase.
I said no. If I buy one it's $1.25, if I buy two OR MORE they become $1.00 each. You're not gonna charge me $1.00 each if I buy two, but then raise the price to $1.08 each if I decide to buy three. The purpose is to get me to buy more than one, not to make the discount contingent upon weather or not I buy an even number.
Sadly, her comprehension skills were such that she wasn't capable of understanding my point, and offering a logical reply. She just repeated her original response (as if I didn't get it the first time) like a mindless drone.
Finally I said "look, I'm not gonna buy this stuff if you don't take the extra 25 cents off". She still wouldn't do it! So I left everything (including the open soda that I had already taken a few sips of) on the counter and walked out.
I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 purely on the assumption that it was the individual employees mistake, and the store manager isn't actually stupid enough to condone such an idiotic policy. read more
