We are from Phoenix and were visiting Salt Lake City for the weekend when we unexpectedly ran into car trouble. While driving in on Saturday, we heard a loud noise after hitting a big bump on the freeway. By Sunday, while driving around town, we became increasingly concerned that something was wrong with the front end of our Tahoe. Monday morning, with a 10-hour drive home ahead of us, we started calling nearby shops. The first mechanic we stopped at couldn't fit us in, and we were honestly starting to panic. Thankfully, we found Extreme Auto Group nearby -- and they were amazing. Even though we were not local customers, they made time for us, got our Tahoe looked at quickly, identified the issue, and worked incredibly fast to get us safely back on the road. Seemed like my transmission needed to be replaced on my 2014 Honda CRV. Marci had to break the news to me. Colton called to explain in detail what had failed in the transmission and explained what my options were. When they got the replacement transmission, Josh checked it and compared it to mine. They were surprised to find that mine was missing a part. When it was replaced, the transmission revived. My final bill was one-tenth of what I thought I was going to pay. Some places might have installed the new one without checking it , and some may have installed it anyway. NOT THESE GUYS! THEY'RE HONEST AND CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! You can trust them. Amir Anvareyan took the time to figure what the problem was addressed it and gave us peace of mind our daughters car will be safe to drive for the foreseeable future. Our experience with Extreme Auto Service has been great, there is a shuttle service that will pick you up and drop you off. They always have snacks and refreshments on hand. Came here to get my emissions done, a renewal and an oil change. I brought in oil for my car but I assumed it took 5-30 when it actually took 5-40. The technician, Andres, realized my mistake. He was professional and very knowledgeable. Service was great and fast! Their waiting area is a bit small, but they have a small kids play area and drinks (cold bottled water, hot chocolate and I think tea or coffee - not sure which one it was). They also have fun sized candy and they were good assortments (i.g. Sourpatch)! Oh, the pictures for this place of the inside is outdated. Their waiting area has the same couch I believe but it looks a lot better and the front desk is formatted differently. Wish I took photos! read more

Last winter my 16 Altima stopped driving at the worst time, I was out of work and had no money. A friend contacted these guys and explained my situation and asked if they could help so we could know if car was even worth the repairs. They said they would inspect the transmission for free and I was amazed since any other shop would require close to $300 to do the same. They told me that their shoo foreman was a Nissan certified master technician and that after inspectingthe transmission that it was a total loss and could only be replaced not fixed and wanted $6,000. So we towed car back home and it sat on side of the road for months. Then just before selling the car to a scrap yard for parts I decided to change the transmission fluid as a hail Mary before losing my only car. It drive immediately, took several days before it operated normal again but check engine light went off and car has been driving perfect for 8 months now and was just low on transmission fluid. I nearly scrapped this car I paid $25,000 for bases on the assumption that they told the truth and inspected my transmission when all they did was lie about doing what they said they did and try to get me to buy a new car. My car broke while I was traveling through town and I called these guys up. They took a look at it, decided it was a quick fix, and spent about one minute to get me on the road again. They didn't charge me either. I'm from out of state, so it's clear they would never make money off of Me, but they still took the time out of their busy day to take care of me. The staff was friendly, and professional. I'm very happy they were there when I broke down. They are honest and took care of Me, I'm sure they will treat you the same way. read more

Fantastic service!! What I appreciate most is that they don't upsell you on anything that might need to be done to the car. They will simply let you know what your options are and let you know what things are critical or not. Generally excellent service. I am so disappointed that I paid for oil change and safety and emissions and all visible fluid levels. I get in my car and my windshield is filthy and no fluid to clean it. How can you complete safety without ensuring wipers work and what company doesn't clean the windshield as a courtesy these days and neglects the cheapest most obvious fluid. I'm terrified what other fluids they neglected I didnt find out on day one and will be going to get it refunded to go to grease monkeys for oil changes where I even get a car wash. read more

Another shop quoted me a huge amount for a supposedly blown gasket. I wanted a 2nd opinion and took my car to Extreme. They diagnosed the actual problem, were specific about the issue, and the repair was 40 percent of the other shop's quote. The following is the email I sent to Extreme Auto. To Whom it may concern, I recently brought my 1998 Suburban 1500 in to get it ready for a long trip I am taking with my family. Your shop was recommended to us by a neighbor. I have been searching for a respectable honest auto shop for some time now as the one I used to go to closed its doors several years ago. (The owner retired). I was excited to give your shop a try as it is close to my home and would be convenient for future repairs. My experience was disappointing, I hope this feedback helps you in the future. Story: After getting the vehicle health report, which I really appreciated, I was expecting a call. I ended up having to call the next day to get things going and I had to continue to call to make sure things were progressing. I had to ask for pricing and never got a detailed pricing and prioritizing of work as promised on your website. When I was quoted prices they seemed to be high. I ended up sending the vehicle report to a couple other shops to get second opinions and pricing. Because of my limited time and because I didn't want the process to drag on or add extra work or inconvenience to my already full schedule I called up and had you start on the work. I realized that I may end up paying more for it but I need things to get done too. About two hours after I had you start the work I got a report from Burt Brothers in Bountiful with a detailed pricing of the work and pricing that I could choose from. The work I had Extreme Auto perform came to about $650 the same work at Burt Brothers ends up being just over $150 less. The other work I was looking at (i.e. tune up) was over $200 less than what I was quoted at your shop. Result: I have paid what my Father would call "life tuition" on this experience. Meaning that sometimes things don't go well and you end up paying for it even though you are not the one at fault. I have paid more on this deal than I needed to and it makes me a little sick. I actually got along okay with your staff, but I can't justify paying extra for that. Truth is I get along with the people at Burt Brothers too I only tried Extreme Auto because of a recommendation and the proximity to my home. Would I like to be reimbursed what I overpaid? Yes, I don't expect that to happen and it usually doesn't happen. Will I be a regular at your shop? No. I wish you the best, and as I said earlier, I hope that this feedback helps. read more
