*Disclaimer* this is a review of our in person real life experience bringing a vehicle in for them…read moreto work on. It has nothing to do with their YouTube or parts store. Until drop off we didn't even know that as the shop tech said 'they are YouTube famous.' First off I will say the folks were kind and polite in our interactions with them so they get their one star for that, however... We brought in an older Sprinter Van that the local dealership does not support any longer. We called in June and got an appointment for September scheduled as they were very booked out. We paid the $330 appointment booking/initial diagnosis fee after explaining what we were hoping for them to help us with. September came around, we brought our vehicle in with great hopes that an issue that had been periodically ongoing with a recent uptick in happening since we bought it (a random shudder while driving) - we thought it had been resolved a few years ago but it recently started happening again along with random troubles starting which we thought could be somehow related. Note that when we called to schedule the appointment in June we explained the primary concern and also brought up a few secondary things going on: we were also having some issues with the Van overheating only when going up hills and the AC belt squeaked. We figured if we were paying $330 for a diagnostic fee and waiting almost 3 months for an appointment we wanted to get everything taken care of. We also spent time providing a detailed report of the vehicles history and maintenance (which they asked for) hoping it would help them narrow things down getting to a solution. We drop off the van with all of our paperwork from what's been done before and a paper with the stated things that we need looked at, also explaining that if other things came up to please let us know - we had been saving and setting aside funds for the last 9 months to pay a mechanic to make our only car awesome. We had no intention of doing any work ourselves we wanted the pros to do their job. They looked through everything we brought in and then let us know they charge $330 per issue you want diagnosed. Meaning that they wanted another $990 dollars if we want all four issues looked into just for diagnosis. The diagnosis fees do not go toward your total bill. We were shocked at that, but maybe we just aren't familiar how some shops work. Feeling a little mislead and deflated we decide to have them look at the main shudder that's recently started again. They said it would take three days to complete the diagnosis and they would follow up via text, but after five days we didn't have an update. After a week and a test drive they couldn't get the malfunction to happen. We had already explained many times it occurs at random and was hard to tack down the when and why to how it happens, to which they told us that was their specialty. They said it might be one part or another but that they didn't know for sure and wanted to do more diagnosis. They asked for another $3500 for more diagnosis and more test driving, they said it could be less, but it could also be more. I asked if it was a typo and if they meant another $350? Nope. 3.5k for more testing with a goal of pinpointing the exact issue. We picked it up and found another shop in Springville. They found issues in less than an hour that explained 3 of the 4 issues we were experiencing. Upon inspecting the wires they noticed one of the wire sheathings was cracked and had a single exposed wire which was very close to a metal cover. After some quick testing they were able to recreate on demand both the van shudder and trouble starting. Shortly after they were able to figure out two potential reasons why the vehicle was overheating which were straightforward hose replacements (3 different hoses) where cracks were losing oil/air/pressure. We feel rather ripped off that with our diagnosis fee of $330 they didn't find any of the issues (in three days of diagnosis..) that the other shop found almost immediately. Good luck if you go here. We were so hopeful but after three+ months of waiting we feel totally let down.
