I was told by a friend this was the best place in town to get an alignment so made my appointment went down on Friday at 10 am and waited about an hr paid the bill drove back to work about five miles on 201 west bound car now pulls to the right call them back expecting to get it taken care of, wrong so I waited tI'll today, Monday and went down there to see if I could get it taken care of, said wait til three called at 230 nope you'll have to make another appointment and we'll look at it then, had there chance left a voice mail on the owners cell phone I doubt I'll hear back don't waste your money read more

This company does not, well did not with me, honour their contract. I contacted this company to put a boot on my rack and pinion and do a front end alignment. This was discussed with the manager over the phone before bringing my car in and was told they could do the work. When I arrived and confirmed with the same manager the work to be done he confirmed they would look at the boot and try to take of it. Contract specifics were listed and agreed to. I was told they would call me when the job was done. They didn't. I called by end of the day and asked if it was completed. It was. I asked if they put the boot on. He said no, that there was an issue with it and they couldn't finish putting it on. When asked what the order for repairs would be- the boot then the an alignment, or an alignment and then the boot. They confirmed the car would need an alignment after the boot was put on. I asked them why they didn't call me and communicate the status and let me decide what the next step should be. The manager, Tyler, absolutely would not acknowledge that Communication should have occurred. He said, What did you want me to do, bring the car off the rack and then put it back on? I asked, how long does a phone call take? That he should have called me. That I came to "Alignment Specialists" because I believed the company name - i would receive good service because they were specialists. We had a contract for the company to put the boot on the rack and pinion and then align the front end. When they found that they couldn't put the boot on They went ahead and aligned the car anyways, without letting me know and without asking me if I wanted to continue. By not calling me, by not discussing it with me they breached our contract. Then they wouldn't give me my car until I paid for the alignment - but it still needs a boot and then will need another alignment after that. Don't trust them- even with a contract. With this type of service there's no way I would recommend this company. read more

took my truck in for a alignment after replacing some parts on the front end .I was told before they looked at it it will need a bushing replaced on the ball joint. in the last 10 alignments I have had done never heard of this but they are the pros. all this for 360.00 dollars. got it back it pulled to the left and the steering wheel was to the right. I was out of town so when I got back I took it in again. I was told they can't warranty it because of a lift kit. they did it because they did not tell that the first time. Now it is not pulling the steering wheel is to the right and it is eating up the front tires. now I have 220000 miles, and it has never pulled or eaten tires. so, I get to pay someone to fix what they did. read more

My 01 suburban with about 160k miles drives well and doesn't vibrate, drives straight and the steering is tight. It has always been well serviced. When I last rotated my tires I noticed more wear on the outside in the right front than the other side which would indicate needing a caster adjustment so I made an appointment with alignment spec. After leaving my vehicle I got a call telling me the idler arm, pitman arm and a lower ball joint were all bad and that they wouldn't do the alignment without the repairs. I returned to pick up the vehicle and was hit with a $55.00 fee to lift it up and look for repairs that they could stick me with without doing the alignment. They handed me an estimate for $1400.00 for parts and their $140.00 and hour repair charges. I was given their name as a good honest repair shop that specializes in heavier vehicles, so I was very disappointed to find they are the typical shop that gets you in on the rack and then tries to hit you with exorbitant repairs. Since I know this vehicle well and do my own maintenance I don't feel it had to have these repairs before I could get an alignment. I ran a service station years ago and know what is involved with all these parts they said I had to have, therefore I would not recommend alignment specialist to anyone unless they have a large vehicle and can't get service anywhere else. read more

Took in our 25 year old RV we had just bought for repairs, the guys replaced parts and got me fixed up and ready for the road. They were very knowledgeable about the chassis even with its age. I have air bags on the front end that need to be maintained. Never would have known. read more

Poor Workmanship and No Integrity! We took a 2020 Dodge Ram dually into this shop only because Russ' Alignment was no longer in business. The technician chipped the powder coat on both front wheels during the alignment process. They chipped each wheel in at least 8 different places and even attempted to 'color in' one spot in an attempt to hide the damage (circled in yellow in photo). We we called to discuss with Gary, he stated "sorry dude! I have to clamp the tool onto the wheels, so there isn't anything I can do about it". He had no desire to accept accountability for damaging the wheels and his technician's attempt to hide the damage, nor did he let us know ahead of time that there was a possibility the wheels could be damaged during the alignment process. Russ' Alignment has aligned our 1-ton trucks for 20+ years without a single scratch or incident. Gary and his company, Alignment Specialists, are a second rate business that we will never recommend to anyone or use again ourselves. read more

Gary only seems grateful for feedback when its good..* Used this shop to align my truck, charged me over $200 and the alignment was way off; instead of a slight pull to the left, it now pulled hard to the right. Called them to tell them and they said bring it back in, brought it back to have them fix it and charged me an additional $200 to have it fixed how it is supposed to be in the first place; This was the real reason I was inclined to leave a negative review is because they didn't mention that they were just going to charge me for another alignment when I called to tell them the first one was off, I could have taken it to a different shop; why would I risk paying for another bad alignment? Now I'm over $430 in an alignment and several hours of my time to drop it off and pick it up several times. I felt like I was talking to a robot when I was expressing my frustration, no sympathy, just a "pay us and get out" attitude. I Would recommend Les Schwab (just down the street from them) over them in a heart beat, at least they give you 30 days to bring it back if they do poor work (even when your vehicle is lifted). read more

I was traveling with my sprinter van through SLC and needed an alignment. I didn't have an appointment but the team at alignment specialist were able to work me in on short notice. When you get to their shop you will realize these guys know "alignment." They had a number of huge trucks in there and my sprinter van was tiny compared to their normal customers. If you are having trouble getting a good alignment stop wasting your time and just come here. These guys did in 20 minutes what other shops could not do in multiple half day or hours long visits. Several thousand miles have been put on our car since our alignment here and it is still dead on. Kind of makes me wonder what the other shops were doing with our car for so long. I called about my daughter's jeep having problems with front end. the gentleman i talked to was very helpful he gave me advice over the phone so made appointment to bring in the jeep . After there inspection they found what was wrong with front end . These guys are very nice and very good at what they do . This is the place to bring your vehicle for front-end problems. These guys really took care of my family and I in a bind. We went through Salt Lake with our travel trailer on the way to Yellowstone. We bent an axle between Nevada and Utah and the trailer was not safe to tow. They got me in and fixed everything very reasonably. They bent the axle straight, saving me a ton of money. We took our 1983 Mercedes in for an alignment. Went to pick it up, Matt explained what they did, we paid and left. Upon driving out, the engine sounded like a tractor! We went immediately back in and asked them to take a look. We got excuses. Double talk, evasiveness and more excuses. Matt got under and took a video...and we talked with the guy that worked on it. The owner/manager Greg Cowan? was nowhere to be seen and never came out to speak with us. There were marks and a puncture hole in the muffler. We drove back home and put it up to look ourselves and found a bolt on the right arm that attaches to the steering column wasn't tightened!! That is a Huge Safety issue! And we drove home with a loose bolt!! All we got was "we didn't do it." Just spoke with Gary Gilgen, owner/manager and got more of the same. He actually said he wasn't going to do anything about it! Is this the "Experience and Unsurpassed Quality" they advertise? Bottom line? It went in needing an alignment and came out sounding like a tractor and Dangerous to drive because of not being properly bolted! That is defective/faulty workmanship. We were lucky it didn't come off. I came here for the quality and couldn't even get a "sorry, let's take a look?" This is an example of how Not to do business. Absolutely unacceptable. Do these guys Not have Safety standards? Again, bottom line? Failure to use "due care" and failure to do work in a "workmanlike manner" is generally perceived to be willful, whether intentional or not...Where is the professional responsibility to abide by the mandates that govern your industry? (They also quoted the price as 139.99 and charged me 179.99...with no explanation, I had to ask. Bait and switch?) These guys were great. Very nice over the phone and answered all my questions. We scheduled an appointment for an alignment over the phone and I was given a price quote and a time frame of when my vehicle would be ready for pickup. At the time I dropped it off it was easy to tell they had a few unexpected emergencies, however Greg was still very curtious and asked if it would be a problem if I left my vehicle an extra 30 minutes or so. Since it was not a problem I agreed. The work was completed and I received a phone call right on time and I was billed the price I was qouted over the phone. Gary unfairly charged me ~$45 for a 5 minute evaluation to tell me the ball joints were "junk". However, the 3 other mechanics (same day) that I took it to, said the B.joints were fine to have the alignment performed. B.joints were replaces only 1200 miles earlier. Gary dishonestly made more money in 5 minutes than he would have, if he performed the alignment. My employee took the truck in and didn't know better, and paid the money for the 5 minutes Gary looked at it. I called and asked for a refund, as I don't feel right paying $45 for 5 minutes of work. At which time Gary cursed me out, telling me that I'm stupid and don't know what I'm talking about.. Despite my 3 other mechanics validating that the ball joints were fine and an alignment could and should have been performed. Kick rocks Gary! read more

I bought a used RV Toy Hauler and it had a bent axle. I was worried sick for until I came into Alignment Specialists. They calmed my soul as they explained what they could do to fix it and when I heard the cost I was so excited. I made an appointment and I brought it in the next day. They were backing it into the bay two minutes before my appointment time. I was impressed. I was more impressed when they had it done less than an hour later and the cost was right what they said it would be. A good RV shop would have taken weeks to try to do this and their cots would have been higher than estimated. The help was extraordinary and I felt comfortable through the whole experience. The shop was clean and welcoming. Its nice to have an alignment shop I can trust. I will recommend it to anybody else. read more

These guys are recommended by Jack It and Red Rock Auto Repair. JackIt is premier truck lifting company. Red Rock is an honest local shop that does things right the first time. I needed an alignment for a newly lifted 93 Ford F250 with a tough to align twin traction beam front suspension. The camber was way out after the lift just as expected and these guys dialed it in perfectly. They had all the right parts in stock and they knew just how to go about the job. This is a truck I am restoring and customizing and I am very particular. The girl runs smooth, straight and true. Highly recommended. They took and appointment and worked right on time. read more

Got our alignment done in Los Angeles before we came out on vacation with our RV. Found out that something was wrong with the alignment when the car was driving bad (felt like speed wobbles). Called Gary up and he said yeah no problem bring it in. We took it to him and he said that the alignment was way off. He fixed it within an hour and send us on our way. I've been here 4 times now and these guys are great mechanics. They are the only shop in town that I'm aware of that will do trailer axles. They did my boat trailer a few years ago, saving me a bunch on worn out tires. I'm docking them one star because their policies and communication could use a bit of improvement. I had a bit of an issue when getting my car aligned recently (I was wearing out tires due to negative camber in front and rear. Camber not adjustable from the factory, but I was still charged for a full alignment). To their credit though, after I installed the necessary aftermarket parts they completed my alignment at no additional cost. So after all was said and done I had paid for a full alignment and received exactly that. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for future alignment needs. read more

Only shop that has ever given me a proper alignment. I have a lifted Tacoma with some unusual suspension/alignment parts (LR UCA with a proprietary caster system), and these guys did a PERFECT job. I had been having issues for years, and the five other shops I tried just couldn't get it right. This was honestly the first time a shop had actually given my truck a proper alignment, and it only took them an hour. It cost more than chain stores, but was well worth it. I called Alignment Specialists on Monday the 18th.. I indicated to them that I had just replaced the Rack & Pinion on my vehicle, and that it needed to be adjusted, and aligned. They aligned the vehicle on the 18th , but as I was driving the vehicle on the Freeway the car did not feel right. I called the next day, and I spoke with Greg. I explained the problems that were happening. I also let him know that they TWISTED the BOOT on the Rack & Pinion, which would cause it to tear. He said, "it should have never left the shop like that", and they would fix it. I said, "What about the fact that you guys did not adjust everything like you should have"? He told me, "They don't do that for free". I let him know that I did not expect it for free. I just want it done right! I said,"you should have informed me that there are other issues that needed to be addressed with an estimate. I told him that was the whole point of bringing it to you because you guys are the front-end specialists. He indicated that it was my problem. Then what was the point of bringing it in if you guys weren't going to do it right! He told me to fix it, and bring it back, and they will fix the boot. I said, "ok, I guess it's my problem". (end of that conversation) I called the owner, Gary on 2-14-13. I went over the issues I had. I indicated to him that the other shops would not only do it for less, but they would resolve all the issues before I left their shop. They would even diagnose it for free, give me an estimate of repair, and give me the chance to make a decision to let them do it or not. I told Gary that his shop did nothing to advise me, no estimate. Just aligned it, and sent me on my way with a car that is not safe to drive on the Freeways. Gary gave me the run around, and he asked me what I want at this point. I let him know, since they did not do the job right the first time, and he wanted to charge me for a diagnostic even though the other shops I called were not going to charge me. ( He called me a liar, for the fact they would not do it for free. I called three different locations.Young Subaru of Ogden, Nate Wade Subaru of Salt Lake, and Russ's Alignment. They would all do the diagnostic for free!) I told him I wanted my money back, that I could not trust his shop to do the job right at this point, and I felt I did not want to waste any more time and aggravation. I just wanted a refund so I could move onto other locations that were more willing to help me. He REFUSED, and hung up on me! I just want my $78.48 back for work that was done poorly, and for the fact they were not willing to do it right! read more

In my personal and professional opinion. To anyone who is needing an alignment done take it to anyone but alignment specialists. They claim to be the best in the business. However here is my story. I took my car in to have a front end aligned and the owners son told me that they could not align my car due to the upper and lower ball joints being bad inner and outer tierod ends being bad the draglink and Pittman arm being bad. I have been a mechanic for 26 years and my dad has a masters degree in auto mechanics we both checked the parts and the only thing we found that was bad was one tie rod which I then replaced. I took my vehicle to a different shop for the alignment and they checked the ball joints and found no issues with them they checked the Pittman arm and draglink and they were good. They aligned my vehicle and all is well. Alignment specialists used to be a good company and an honest company however I can't say that about them now. read more

Tire was wearing funny, took to them for alignment. They identified front strut was bad and lower ball joints worn. They quoted me $1200. to replace both struts (KYB) and both joints (Moog) and a $80 alignment included. I couldn't leave rig with them so I planned to reschedule the job. They charged me $44 bucks to do nothing but tell me I needed those items. I asked if they'd rotate the tires so I wouldn't worry about flatting out on a trip I was taking next day. "Sure, for another $40." I called another mechanic. He said no need to replace both struts, just the bad one and both lower joints (Midgrade Parts). $535 for parts and labor. Thanks, but no thanks Alignment Specialists... Pretty friendly guys though, I'll give 'em that. read more
