My Uncle bought a transmission for his Mazda two years ago and Peli at Affordable is easy to work with and like the name says affordable. So, when the transmission went out in my motor home three weeks ago we had it towed from Price to West Valley so they could do the work. Fast, affordable and guaranteed. Three weeks total. Took to my truck to get transmission rebuilt in November of 2021 that job took about two weeks they claim because they had to order parts from out of state, the truck ran fine for about 3 months and the the check engine turned on again so I took it back to the shop to get it fixed. In a 2 week span the truck was in and out of the shop saying they had fixed it but on the drive to my house the light would come on . It finally got to the point where the transmission was doing the same thing before we got it rebuilt , now the trucks been the over a month and it still hasn't been fixed properly it took them three weeks to decide that's they needed to tear down the transmission even tho it was having the same issue it has when I first took it , I have to keep calling to check on the progress and every time the owner give me a half ass excuse , they had the car for over a month so getting to work has been more difficult than it needs to be since we already paid to t it fixed once , I asked if they offer assistance with renting a car or a loaner car . He replied with that's now our responsibility. I would never recommend this place to anyone they are completely unprofessional and under experienced. read more

These guys,,,,,are the best! I have never had a bad experience. They were incredibly honest about the process. They fought my insurance company for me, they reached out to the tire guys for me. This could have cost me over $2,500 but, I spent only $500 and they took care of the rest. I don't care what anyone says, they were amazing to me and my whole family. I will not go anywhere else. I was in a terrible accident in the snow March this year. They were so fantastic, one stop shop. Tow, fixed my car, fought my insurance company when they would only give me used parts, really I was thrilled. I love these dudes, and will only use them. Worst experience ever. They took 2 and 1/2 weeks to start on my car because an employee got jumped over the weekend, and was in the hospital. Another in the hospital for some reason. And they eventually had to fire someone else. All these reseaons I don't care about, and I had nothing to do with. But because they are having business problems, I have to pay the consequences. Then I had issues with the company sending them a replacement transmission because I had to find my own used replacement or pay to fix it that was going to be 3 times as much and not worth it at that price because of the damage on the broken one. After 2 weeks of waiting for that company to finally send the right part, they started getting mad at me for having my car there too long. Okay its fine, I understand they can be jerks, but then they all of a sudden found an issue with a bearing on clutch, so took it upon themselves to order a clutch to charge me an extra 372. When I asked if I could just order an upgrade clutch to get a heavy duty one, they told me they aren't accepting my parts no more. Mostly because they already order a clutch without asking me. I asked to be treated fairly, the lady proceeded to tell me, "do you really think all these other shops charge fair?" After a long argument with the lady, she told me to talk with the owner, but I had to wait till 2 because he would seem to never be there till 2 (even though they close at 6?). They were the closest place to me when my clutch went out. He came with a flatbed to pick up my Subaru and replaced the master and slave cylinders with the quickness. And, as the name says, it was affordable. Very pleased with the job. I would recommend him to my friends. read more

I was traveling from California to Iowa pulling a heavy Uhaul trailer and my muffler pipe next to the manifold blew a hole and after driving a couple hundred miles, not getting it fixed, it damaged the transmission line which in turn damaged the transmission. I could only drive in 2nd gear and limped in to the Salt Lake City west area. I looked up "Transmission Shops" on Google then checked them all out on Yelp. That's how I picked Affordable Transmissions in West Valley. A day and half later, the transmission was rebuilt and I'm was on my way. Pelli is the owner and was extremely accommodating, taking us to a local hotel and explaining everything in detail. I don't recommend this company to anyone . The owner was very kind at first over the phone . Let me know that my insurance would take of the payment . That he had spoken with them , and I had nothing to worry about . He asked me to bring the car on a certain day because the "insurance " needed me to . I have to rent cars and catch rides . He said the car would be done by Tuesday . It's now over a week and I am still waiting on my car . Do I know if the car was done correctly I don't . I feel lied to . Cheated . If they had other cars to work on . Why hold my car for a week . I drove by and my car sat in their parking lot for 2 days same spot not touched . He would tell me , he was waiting on the insurance . Once insurance was on the phone he lied and said he been working on it every day . It's a lie . I been watching my car sit in the same spot for a week . Until a week later . They need not to speak or say they have some thing done and not follow on their word . It was not the insurance it was the fact that he had to many cars . read more

Ok I called up to come into this place to have my car looked at and the guy over the phone was nice and helpful and told me to come down. I arrive and I find that he is now out for lunch which is ok so he asks one of the staff to have a look at my car. We go for a drive with Carlos who as we drive tells me my transmission is finished and it'll be about $3k to replace/rebuild. I bought this car strictly for the winter season and have no intention of replacing a $3k transmission. The shady guy then says I'll give you $1000 for the car. It's 2006 V8 XC90 low miles and I paid $5000 for it and the car runs and drives great it just has a slight flare between 2nd and 3rd gear. I tell the guy no! he then goes $2000 I promptly tell him to f'off and Pull over at the front and remove the fraud from my car. AVOID THIS SHADY PLACE. I'm an engineer and I know how to work a transmission and I know when things are minor fixes and this disgusting person had the audacity to try and rip off a customer. Fail. Long story short, went to tanner transmissions who replace the valve body for $450 and the car is now perfect. You guys suck. read more

WoW! What luck in finding this Affordable Transmission Place. I broke down in Salt Lake City and the owner, Peli, totally took care of me. He retrived my truck, took me to a motel, picked me up in the morning, fixed the truck fast and perfect, and charged me half of what other big name brand corporate shops would have. I recommend this place to anyone, weather you have a growing and annoying problem under the car, or are a broken down panic person like I was. This guy and his crew can and will fix it. On top of all that, he is a sterling fellow and even took me out for a free lunch. Who says there is no such thing? I've taken my cars here many times over the years. Peli the owner has always been upfront and honest with what repairs i need and gives me an honest price. Just recently he drove out to ogden to tow my car to his shop, i found out half way through the towing part he had a flight that night to catch. I was more than impressed with the fact that he himself the owner came to pick up my car knowing he had an evening flight to catch. He has always been very caring and gets the job done.
