Extra special tea is getting ready to celebrate their 10 year anniversary next month. As soon as I walked in, I could feel the magic and love all around. The owner is amazing and opened up the shop for her son who has autism. They support, train, and empower young adults with diverse learning differences, such as autism, Down syndrome and sight/hearing impairments. It does get a little tight when there are a few people in there. When you first walk in you will see lots of fun things you can buy and a sofa! They have mugs, keychains, sweatshirts, and so much more! The next space is where you can order food and drinks and also pay. They have a wide variety of teas to choose from. In the back there is a beautiful room where you could sit to enjoy your drink or pastry. There was a class going on upstairs when I was there and I thought that was so cool. Everyone is so sweet. I look forward to coming back. There is parking along the side of the street. You can also park in the parking lot that is next to Extra soecial teas. read more

Such a cute, comfortable, colorful, welcoming tea shop with lovely staff :) I ordered a black tea with oat milk and vanilla flavoring and it was absolutely delicious. Really really good organic black tea that the brown sugar boba and vanilla complimented really well. Plus I had the best gluten free brownie ever. As a gluten free person I've never felt this included at a café or restaurant that I can freely choose anything I want to eat from the menu at such affordable prices. I had a very relaxing time in their outdoor dining space with my boyfriend. This place is a blessing and an important safe space for everyone living in and visiting the GB community. read more

2 stars for the cute interior. 0 star for the bubble tea. My friends and I were very excited to try this place because it is almost impossible to find a bubble tea spot in the middle of nowhere. We ordered taro and mango bubble tea, which took 10 minutes to make. I tried both and they tasted bad. Very watery, little tea taste, just not right... I'm a big fan of tea shops. I love the vibe and the space to just relax. Extra Special Teas (EST) has that, and it's all for a good cause. A non-profit, EST gives all of its proceeds to an organization that provides vocational training to young adults with special needs. They have a wide range of teas, both plain and "fancy", as well as baked goods (which I haven't tried). I've been here twice (in two days) and have tried two different variations of rooibos. They were both very good. My one qualm is that they don't have just plain rooibos. However, the employees are very nice and helpful with picking out teas. Highly recommend dropping in and giving EST a try. read more

A delightful tea shop in downtown Great Barrington. Super reasonably priced-- hello $3.50 bubble tea. Also, cute baked goods for folks with allergies (e.g., gluten free, vegan, etc). Fun decorations, friendly staff, and a good cause (hires folks with intellectual disabilities). They have around 50 varieties of tea-- black, green, white, herbal, both hot and cold. AND they have taro bubble tea, which is my absolute favorite. You can get it with whole milk, coconut milk, or almond milk. It's a generous portion (very cold, no ice unless you want it) and delicately sweet. It's a fun and relaxing place to hang out (see the pictures of the fun decorations). read more

Love this place! I had my first ever bubble tea here and I fell in love. Jasmine green tea milk tea bubble tea is my go to. Also, the little sitting area outside is super cute, with nice and bright colors. I would highly recommend if you just want some bubble tea in the Berkshires (this is the only spot) or just want a glass of iced or hot tea. read more

I traveled from CT just to visit this beautiful special tea house. It is so welcoming and the staff was wonderful. It is a joyful place, the colors and decor was very up lifting. The iced tea, peach and ginger, and ginger biscotti was amazing, I sat outside and enjoyed the moment on beautiful cushions with flowers all around me. Loved this little place. It was bright and charming inside. The choice of teas is dizzyingly extensive. I enjoyed my sit down tea here since the room was so cozy. I love EST!!! I love bringing my two toddler boys here for tea and snacks. We are ALWAYS welcome by the staff here, who never seem bothered by a harried mom of two busy-bodied little boys. Staff has always helped me get in and out the door with my hands full. My 3 year old loves their tea and delicious treats, which I don't feel guilty feeding to my kids. Be warned though - if you ask employee Tristan what his favorite treat is, he will tell you "all of them" and you will end up buying, eating, and enjoying more than you should (thanks a lot, Tristan)! The interior is insanely colorful and inviting, bold colors and comfy chairs throughout, really fun atmosphere, but cozy and warm. Don't bother with any negative reviews for here, come for the tea, the environment, the delicious treats, and be part of a great community cause. read more
