The door gave a low creak as I opened it. We were greeted with a warm smile as is usual for this bakery. In the back, I could see about 3 women huddled together. "It's still too hot, gotta wait a few minutes." One of them said. It felt as if I were in my mom's kitchen, and I couldn't wait to see what was this baked good that we had to wait a few minutes for as the smell encapsulated the whole bakery. Everything here without a doubt is made fresh, and this was the proof in case there was any question. On this visit, we tried one of their baguettes to have alongside a kale and potato with cheese soup I made. Always a must is also their gluten free chocolate bundt cake, we ended up getting two slices, it's just too good!!! They also had freshly made pistachio macaroons as well as blueberry, we got one of each. both were amazing, but my favorite was the pistachio. I would be remiss to not mention that their coffee is amazing. Even just the cafe au lait, their coffee is really good. Just as we were paying, one of the girls brought out the baked goods to the front, baked crumble muffins. You could still see the hot butter bubbling at the top; absolute heaven! We just love The Lost Lamb! We visit the area often from Upstate NY and on every visit a meal and/or goodies to take home from here are a must. The staff are professional and kind. The owner is talented and personable. The overall vibe is adorable and welcoming. The food is amazing and comforting. What more can you ask for? Some of our favorites are the chocolate chip cookies, ANYTHING chocolate cake (the bundt or any chocolate cupcake), and the roasted red pepper sandwich on their homemade baguette. The coffee and espresso drinks are also great. But everything we have tried? Has been so good! You truly can't go wrong. If I could rate this beautiful bakery a 19, I'd give it an 11. I was in town visiting when I saw a gf options sign outside. I went in and they had so many lovely gluten free options- I got a cookie, a scone the size of my hand and a slice of cake. All were delicious- the cranberry oatmeal cookie melted in your mouth! A true gem. I stopped again today to bring some home and got my husband some non-gf croissants as I've heard they're the best outside of Paris. Cute bakery in Stockbridge with spot-on croissants, I came here after a trip to the Rockwell Museum and thought this was pretty solid. The plain and almond croissants had the characteristics of thoughtful viennoiserie, as they were buttery and flavorful. The plain had an airy texture inside. The pear tart had a good crust and a nice pear filling, with a decent amount of almonds on top. Service was friendly and patient, as the lady in the front counter waited for me, as I tried to come up with my order. Just get a simple ham and cheese sandwich (and no - the French don't put piles of meat or cheese on), just enough butter so you can taste it, on fresh house-made French bread, and ... well, for us it's sandwich heaven! Rather than go on a Caribbean trip limping to celebrate our wedding anniversary+my birthday, we traveled to the Berkshires instead. Plus it's close to home- and, I had a scheduled torn meniscus procedure 2 days later. While in town, we forwent the usual walking trails we enjoy during our trips and did more driving instead. With that came noticing The Lost Lamb on Main St in quaint Stockbridge for a quick bite. We've visited one other Patisserie in this town but it was time to try something new. The whip-smart, Cordon Bleu graduate who opened Lost Lamb has brought all of her Paris experience to this cute spot. Lost L. combines café, patisserie, bakery- and provides folks with everything from coffee, to pastries to buns to hot chocolate (tasted more like Swiss Miss) and a couple of meatless sandwiches and others with bacon in this fun-looking spot. There are also jams and small kitchen items for sale. The young gals are friendly and so was the owner- who runs her patisserie the way she wants to run it. I've never eaten a macaron in my life. And? To be quite honest, I rather have a real dessert. But I'm a passion fruit savage- so whenever I see it, I want it. Plus, this macaron, was slightly bigger than the typical ones. I went for it. And boy.....did it taste like Passion Fruit! And the chocolate middle, was a nice surprise! The mini apple tartlet I took to-go had sliced apples, almonds and frangipane nestled inside a golden+ slightly sweet shortbread-type crust. Hubs went for the Bacon+cheese croissant sandwich and a baguette to-go. The baguette wasn't the common one we get elsewhere- this had a lot of flour left over on the bread itself and my clothes. It was nice though. Price was decent and so was the service. And while Lost Lamb offers about 4 savory items- the bacon that's being cooked for the sandwiches, overtook the entire small size of this Patisserie and wished the place smelled more like her heavenly pastries she's showcasing. But listen, if you're in the mood for some indulgent pastries and packaged goods, Lost L. is worth checking out. As others have said, stepping into this adorable storefront it is like going to Paris without the jet lag. The bakery has such a welcoming vibe inside and there are chairs and tables outside where you can sit and enjoy your goodies. Wander around while your coffee is being prepared and look at the choices of jams, jellies, honeys and more that are for sale. The butter croissants are très délicieux and not to be missed. If they are open on days I drive past, I must stop and purchase several. One to enjoy in the car ( shards of crispy dough shattering everywhere), others tucked in the freezer for later. I love the almond croissants and pain au chocolat with the dark chocolate running though it as well. The pear and frangipane tarts are really special. They always have a large selection of gluten free options. I've gotten the cupcakes and cookies and you would never know they are gluten free. I do wish they'd look at doing some of those gluten free options to be dairy free as well. I am a macaron fan. I get a few every time I see them in a shop. These are really very good. A delightful little bakery almost across the street from the Red Lion Inn, the offerings here include a lot of baked goods, sandwiches and drinks. My husband and I came here for a late breakfast/eatly lunch. I had had one of their Bueberry Lemon Scones on a previous visit and wanted to have another. One of the best scones ever! Nicely short and crumbly and the blueberry lemon flavor combo is perfection. My husband had a Devilled Egg Salad Sandwich with lettuce on their own baked Ciabatta bread, which he proclaimed to be delicious They bake a variety of wonderfully flaky croissants, a daily tart, and a nice array of muffins. Their coffee is great as well (today the were out of espresso by the time we got there, but my latte on a previous visit was excellent). Outdoor tables only - very nice on a May weekend with perfect weather. Not to be missed. Stopped by to grab a bite after a hike with friends. One of my friends entered and while I looked at the menu outside because I had my dog and didn't want to enter with him. One of the workers put up the closed sign on the door. I asked if it was alright if I spoke to my friend to let her know what I wanted and she said no and looked angry. Because I was surprised, I asked one more time and pointed inside the shop, and my friend was at the window waving. The worker then did agree to let me inside. My friend tried to order a tea and was told that they had already stopped serving drinks. I've always thought it odd that places close half of their shop when it's still open but I will say that this isn't unusual. However, I have to say that overall I was deeply disappointed with the staffs overall demeanor. read more

I overheard one of the young ladies behind the counter say they'd already gone thru 5 bags of ice and it was only (I forget... late morning perhaps) x oclock. Anyway clean, well decorated, just a happy little space. Everything was soooo tempting. We had already had breakfast so we opted for two ice coffees (drip), a large chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate cupcake with pistachio frosting. You put your own cream and sugars in the coffee. Best coffee ever. I don't like mine weak. This wasn't strong persay but the perfect coffee flavor if that makes sense! I don't know why I chose this particular cupcake. Pistachio isn't my thing but I can't verbalize how amazing this cupcake was! A whole other level!! So light!!! So chocolatey and MOIST! To die for. And the frosting was the same- so so so light. Not overly sweet but packed with flavor. I'd drive 2.5 hours just for a cupcake! You just visit! And buy them all. Cupcake was $5. I believe the cookie was $3 and I have no idea how much the coffee was. Only one size- essentially a Dunkin medium. read more

We stopped in here today and we got macarons and a chocolate croissant. The croissant was incredible, but the macarons were just okay. They tasted like the meringue was overworked. Popped in here earlier today to grab coffee. Cute location but only a handful (2 croissants, 1 cupcake, a cookie and a muffin) of pastry options. This is the $8 prosciutto baguette "sandwich" but it's literally one slice of super thin prosciutto. I understand that prosciutto is expensive but this was pathetic. Would absolutely not return. What a cute little patisserie! Unfortunately this is where the charm ends. They are A+ at branding. Everything in the shop is Lost Lamb themed in red and white. The food-in my opinion more important than branding-leaves much to be desired. I ordered an assortment of food and drink. The kids snubbed their noses after one bite of the chocolate chip cookies-"blah" The macarons had great flavor, gingerbread was tasty but dry. The egg nog macarons were a jumble of indiscernible flavors that only the sweet came through. The iced tea, brewed in a coffee maker, I assume was dark, coffee flavored and no ice. I threw it away after one dark gulp. The almond croissant was super tasty but way over baked. It crumbled in my lap. I salvaged the almond filling which was very good.
