J+J is a cultural staple of Dalton (and the surrounding towns, for that matter). If you show up around any holiday weekend you're bound to see friends and family members grabbing coffee or sandwiches and catching up because it's just understood that when you're back in town, this is where you come to reconnect. So, I have been a very religious regular of this cafe since we moved to Dalton. Always loved the regulars that I see almost every weekend, however this all changed today. First off, I always call my order in ahead of time, always. Lots of times that I have come in there is a line and I patiently wait in the long line to get my to go order which is sitting on the counter ready. Today , I call my order in, per the usual, then when I get there to pick it up I literally get BARKED at as soon as I walked in the door by one of the employees yelling "get in line TARYN"!!! I didn't say a word, I literally walked in , and got attacked. Their system is completely BROKEN. They need to have 2 lines going one for pick up, one for not pick up. This isn't rocket science. People that call in orders should t be expected to stand in a line once they get to the restaurant, that completely and totally defeats the purpose of call ahead. I had somewhere to be, obviously that never matters when you call ahead at this establishment. Mostly I was rather stunned at the treatment I got as soon as I walked in. We have been loyal to them for years. These small town businesses need to recognize their loyal regulars, and treat them kindly, tourist season and basketball tournaments are a temporary thing!! This place was delicious! We just stopped by on our way thru off the Appalachian trail, but got the turkey bacon avocado panni sandwich on sourdough white, and it was delicious and filling and extremely fresh. Avocado was on point. Sides were macaroni salad, potato salad, or chips. They have bottles sodas along with all their coffe and drink choices. Got an iced caramel mocha-was also delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. There were accessible outlets and we charged a few items. Friendly patrons inside establishment. Would definitely go again and recommend! read more

Cozy atmosphere with no frills and free Wifi. The place is clean and well-maintained. Coffee is good. Drinks are generally on the expensive side (considering the small town and relatively low cost of living in Pittsfield, Massachusetts), but I guess that's the cost of supporting a local café, and I'm happy to support this business. read more

Little to no eye contact from young woman taking our order at the counter and same thing happened to the folks behind us. Very lackadaisical attitude. We ordered two chicken Caesar wraps and a smoothie. Smoothie was crazy sweet like there was a lot of sugar syrup in it. I have a sweet tooth and it was intense for me. Wraps were fine. Plenty of chicken that was tender, but not enough romaine lettuce for that nice crunch. read more

I've been here a few times for a quick early morning breakfast and coffee, usually before long day trips with my family. They have a wide variety of flavors for coffee and their muffins are really good. Service is usually fast, with the exception of last time, where it took an exceptionally long time for them to bring out my latte and toasted bagel and cream cheese. Speaking of that bagel...Unless you like an entire container's worth of cream cheese on it, ask them to put a little bit less! I learned this the hard way. Last time, the cream cheese had melted and there was so much of it that it dripped all over my legs...not pleasant. Overall though, this place beats Dunkin Donuts any day. read more

Cute spot I love to visit in the Berkshires! I am a huge fan of their bagels! They always have a great selection, and they toast them to perfection. I also love having just the right amount of cream cheese inside. I normally order a latte or a chai, and both are great! Juice N Java also always has a great selection of baked goods like muffins, cookies and these yummy jam filled pastries. Great spot for a quick breakfast sandwich (~$4), smoothie, and/or coffee drink. I had a pretty good egg and bean burrito for breakfast and a really delicious strawberry and banana smoothie. Try the tequila sunrise it is out of this world So many flavor choices for iced coffee but my favorite is their caramel latte. Very nice. Stopped in while passing through on my way to Kripalu. I had a cappuccino and a mozzarella and tomato panini. Service was quick and friendly, food and drink was enjoyable. Quite honestly the best part is the ambiance. I sat by the window, warmed by the sun on a cold winter day. Indoor plants and large bay window make the place feel comfy and inviting. read more

One star is too much. If you're looking for actual good coffee, please move on. None of the Juice n' Java locations offer fresh gourmet coffee. The standard coffee is standard. There is no difference from the coffee Juice n' Java offers than that of a 7-11 or gas station. It's the same horrible taste. Their espresso drinks are quite a joke as well. They don't even grind the beans they use on a per drink (or per hour at the very least) basis! All of their espresso beverages are made with "pod" coffee. Pod coffee is the absolute lazy way for stores such as this to take all of the quality out of the coffee experience. Pod coffee is ground weeks before, put in an airtight pouch and then shipped. It's pre-tamped with a certain amount of pressure so the untrained employee (these are not baristas) can make a drink without any skill. It's the same theory as a can of cheap beer versus a gourmet brew. Yuck. And poo poo on their extra charge (of a DOLLAR!) for soy milk. The baked goods they order in aren't bad, but you won't catch me in one of these places ever again! Undrinkable is the nicest compliment I can think of. When the original location was Sip of Seattle it was a much better coffee experience. It's sad to say but Starbucks is the best coffee shop in the area and that's not saying much. read more

I ordered the turkey sandwich special during my lunch break, and after waiting a long 25 minutes in a hot stuffy room, I was told my that they "gave my sandwich away." I promptly asked for refund, as I didn't have another 30 minutes to wait for a simple sandwich to be made. The cashier got the manager who then, instead of trying to remedy the situation, had the nerve to ask if I wanted a gift certificate in place of my refund, assuming that I wanted to return. I paid $8.03 but the manager only managed to pull 8 bucks out of the register, keeping the .03 cents for himself, as if he deserved a tip for his terrible service. I left hungry, lunch break spent, with a noisy pocket filled with jingling change instead of the dollar that I handed over in the first place. With a bitter taste in my mouth I will not be returing to this sham of a coffee house. read more
