I stop at this hidden star on my way to Hudson NY-every time!…read more I order the WRAP with NO NAME, a pickle and a cup of one of the finest hot soups! This visit I Chose a vegan chile, super packed with veg and beans-spiced just right. There's four to choose from and they wow without question! The wrap is Vegan, they clearly entertain all food liberals, and I am thankful GF is not included with every Vegan option! The wrap had quinoa salad/kale AND a generous offering of hummus, Salad mix and tomato. The space is super welcoming and service is clearly marked, making the flow of ordering a breeze. They also have ample amounts of paper menus if you need an extra minute to choose. Sweets look fresh and shop made-the peach pie almost won me over this time.... Beautiful job-outdoor seating is fun and whimsical for warmer days as well....

Nothing special Today had bacon egg and cheddar in focaccia -- lots of scrambled egg well cooked - bacon was barely cooked and I really could not discern the cheese. This white focaccia Roll was only option. No whole wheat, no English muffin or bagels. Coffee was ok. Honestly not that hot in temperature -- Casual vibe. I was a bit disappointed overall. But I know their lunch menu is probably better...

A dining experience chosen somewhat casually from a quick perusal of options online is a risky proposition, especially for an important date. Thankfully, this proved to be a "hit it out of the park" selection. The first hint: the person booking my phone reservation was cheerful, friendly, and efficient. Then, on arriving, the young folks shuttling customers in golf carts from the parking area to the restaurant were everything you hope young people will be: eager, interested, and very well-trained. Then, when I told the concierge that this was an anniversary dinner, he grew visibly animated; as a result, a champagne toast was brought to our table (the concierge having thoughtfully asked if we were alcohol friendly previously), on the house. When the appetizers arrived, I was so impressed that I almost regretted having ordered an entree: an improptu tasting menu made up of four or five appetizers would have been heaven (in fact, after the meal, I suggested that management put that option on the menu - which, it turns out, they had been considering. The entrees didn't disappoint, however, being among the best I've ever had in the Berkshires. In fact, in 35 years of Manhattan dining, I have only rarely enjoyed dishes as much as I enjoyed these. Dessert and espresso were in line with the meal: first rate. I spent some time reflecting my experience back to management, who listened attentively and with interest (a distinction in itself). My main point was the strong "vertical integration" that I sensed: every level of service and preparation was excellent, from the reservationist, to the valets, to the concierge, to the waitstaff, to middle management, on up to the star of the show, the chef. Although everybody eagerly acknowkedged that the chef was incomparable, I never got the sense that any level of service had been made to feel less than crucial to the dining experience. In short, besides being a great dining experience, this was a triumph of management, by which I mean old-fashioned management who make everybody feel valued and noticed. Kudos!

"You never see it coming, You never have a clue,…read moreBut there's trouble on the horizon, Bubbling like a roux" (Jimmy Buffet) Walking around and browsing the shops in Great Barrington on a beautiful Spring Day was a real enjoyable experience. We wanted to try a new place for lunch and ended up at Marjoram And Roux for a very nice lunch, It has a front showcasw with baked goods and prepared salads and a big roll of butcher paper on the wall where the day's specials are listed. We ordered at the front counter, grabbed a table in the modestly sized dining room and our two sandwiched came out very fast. My wife ordered a Prosciutto Baguette with arugula, red pepper tapenade, and Buffalo Mozzarella with an aged balsamic dressing for $16. I ordered a Pita Sadwich with White Bean Hummus, Beets, Olives, Pickled Onions, and Arugula for $12. Both sandwiches were served with a small salad of local greens. I loved my sandwich. The pillowy softness of the pita, the smooth velvety texture of the hummus, the sweetness of the beets, and the saltiness of the olives all combined for one fantastic sandwich. Portion size was generous, and since we knew we'd be stopping down the street for ice cream, we each took home half of our lunch. Pricing was reasonable at just around $30 after tax and before tip. There's a lot of lunch choices in Great Barrington and we were very happy with ours.

A few cozy tables, nice natural lighting, relaxing background music and a friendly staff make for the perfect stop along your way.
