Did not see the yelp reviews until now moving from the Bay Area back home left some stuff in the storage unit came back. Was almost empty call the company they said since I did not have insurance that they cannot help me. The only thing that is separating each unit it's plywood and drywall. They need to do better on dividing the storages units,. Do not recommend this place at all do not waste your money. read more

Want to caution others from using this facility. At first I was excited because I thought I'd finally found a non-shady storage business - the reviews on Google were good. I wish I'd been wise enough to check reviews here as well. Bri was helpful when my things were moved to the unit, coordinating things so that it was fairly low stress even as I was unable to be there in person (I had already moved across the country). I set up autopay for my account. However, a couple months in - and only because I happened to log in to the account myself - I saw that apparently payment had failed, and I was being charged multiple late fees, as well as a "lien fee" and a "pre-foreclosure fee." Extra Space Storage never notified me about any payment issue....and in the State of California, charging fees after failure to provide notification is illegal. It's also illegal to charge a "lien fee" without notification in a specific way, as outlined in the law. I emailed them at least 12 times about this issue, after having emailed them without trouble when initially setting things up. I was also left with no choice but to send them a Demand Letter regarding removal of these fees. Their website will not allow you to make payment of any kind unless you're also paying these unlawful fees...and their customer service has been abysmal. They're awful. I hope someone else sees this review and doesn't make the mistake I made in using this facility. read more

Absolutely do not store your belongings here. People live here people break into your unit here and the management is careless. Completely denies any and all negative action that's going on here. My unit was tampered with the locks were grinded down, reported it to "bri" the manager, for the only response that I would get and have to live with was she will check the cameras. Never contacted me back to give me an update, but when I contacted her, she was way too busy to go back and look at the cameras. This place is not safe for your belongings, highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

Do not EVER, ever, ever, ever store your vehicle here. It took me some time to write this review because I loved the manager at first. She was extremely friendly and helpful and even assisted with the tarp on my car...only to find out that there were some strange inside things going on at this place. My first issue was some random man with his dog who clearly lived inside the storage unit in an RV or something. The dog wasn't on a leash and the man scared the crap out of me coming out of the dark and asking me about some vehicle. I'm allergic to dogs and I've gotten bit by one before so I made sure to call and leave a message that a strange person was inside there. Well no one ever got back to me about him and that should've been the sign I needed to get my car out. Too late. My car got vandalized. Huge rock busted through my window. I will say that almost everything inside was stolen. Okay, I thought maybe the cameras there would assist in the take down. NOPE. I was simply told to make a police report and they would do it on their end as well. I was also told I wasn't allow to even view the tapes because it's police evidence only. Ummm alright. Other reviewers had similar stories and I should have believed them when I read them. Not only that but I bought a wind resistant tarp a second time for my car and when I picked up my car it was completely cut down the middle and my front license place was pulled back as if they were trying to steal it. I was never made aware of this vandalism at all. One employee said it happened within two weeks but the manager said she tried to tape it and was too busy to call. I was in complete shock that once again my car was a target. Oh and the best part was that I was told that the wind tore the tarp off. Well no one could explain the license plate being bent back which was a clear indicator of them just trying for Round 2 on my car. Just a lot of different answers and confusion and frustration. If I was able to make it to my car to move it to another storage facility I would have. I wasn't even in the country to handle any of this. Luckily I got my window fixed quickly by SafeLite and I didn't have to be there for them to do it. From what I was told the glass worker got verbally harassed for coming into the storage facility despite me emailing days ahead of time letting them know they would be fixing my vandalized car. I felt bad for the guy because he was simply doing his job and I had given them all the information so there wouldn't be any issues. After all is said and done I made a phone call to gather the final details and I just felt like I was being lied to and my feelings were hurt that my hard earned money just went to waste. I had paid ahead months and months for storage plus I was told that if I kept my car there longer that if any increase in the monthly rate that I would get a heads up. IT DOUBLED. No one called or emailed to let me know. After that I took my car out. I just couldn't believe I was taken advantage of and this whole time I thought I could trust this place. The last time I went in a very kind and helpful young guy helped me out and calmed me down from being so upset about seeing my car more damaged and advised that things are turning around there so I hope that if you for some reason decide to trust them that none of this will happen to you. I'm just trying to share my personal experience and I'm not naming names to do it. Shame on you for whatever unethical practices were being held here. DO NOT STORE YOUR CAR OR BOAT HERE! MY CAR WAS VANDALIZED! Approximately two months ago I stored my vehicle at this "secure" storage facility and assumed my car would be safe. I put a car cover on to protect it from the elements, however UV Rays were not the problem. I returned after two months and discovered that someone had vandalized my car by hitting the roof with what looks to have been a hammer. Extremely upset I spoke to Melissa at the front office who immediately stated they are not responsible for the damages. When I asked if I could go behind their desk to get a better look at their TV which shows the security camera views I was told I was not allowed. From what I can see though my car is barely visible from one of the camera angles (great security setup). Melissa then asked to come view the damage to my car which I showed her. She proceeded to take photos of the damage. At this point I again asked if they would be able to cover the repairs and she stated no, they take the picture for "internal use". When asked to speak to her supervisor she gave me the number of her regional manager Brian and said he would call on Monday. I received a call from Brian and received the same corporate company line that they are not responsible for the damages. I asked if he could do anything to help make things right in this situation and he replied no and did not offer any solutions to the problem. At the very least he didn't even offer some sort of credit or refund of storage fees (not that it would resolve the problem but it's an indication of the companies lack of values and customer service). I asked about the security footage and he said they could review it but don't hold out much hope because it's a lot of footage to review. So not only are they not willing to make things right they are too lazy to review tape to verify what happened to my car. As you can see customer service is nonexistent with this company from the front desk to upper management. You're paying money for a secure storage facility that can't do the one thing they're being paid for....secure parking. You're better off parking your vehicle on the street and saving money (it's also just as secure). read more

Me and my wife had our storage unit robbed and the managers there acted like they couldn't do anything...they said there was nothing on the video camera's/ another said there werw no cameras. Another manager had said they saw suspicious individuals coming in. The place is sketchy overall. Lost my medals and equipment from the military and my wife lost alot of her things as well. Do not use this place. Very angry. read more

Worse experience with this storage company . Just started taking everything thing out last nite July 17th to close out my sisters storage because their rates are ridiculous. Well today July 18th the rude girl that's there with the brown curly hair was there as usual rude and being nosey on what one is doing. On the 17th we arrived to clear out with a uhaul truck the storage and don't you know things had been moved around and they had been tampered with and stolen to add the lock was on the door wrong. We told this ignorant idiot about people touching our things and that our fathers craftsman tool box had been stolen with the minimum of 1000$ worth of tools in it. She had no compassion or respect to the matter . She didn't care and just told us we can't do nothing about but yet they manage to charge a fee of insurance. And we didn't report it stolen til today because there was no one there after 6.30pm . This is bs you would think your things would be safe. I will absolutely never ever use extra space storage company ever again. I wouldn't never recommend it! Besides the fact she would go and spy on you when you were going thru your own things she managed to let a thief in to my family's storage and steal the last possessions I had from my dad that was a mechanic... karma is a b#### just like the employees here. And now all I can do is a police report... and a possible claim on something I'm never getting back. #DontTrustThesePeople or this company. If i could give no stars or negative stars I would. Lastly to add and to find out we got a mountain bike stolen and so bins of stuff stolen. This location needs to be investigated. read more

Worst Management ever!!!!! Our storage unit (right in front of the office) got burgalrized. The manager came Out and showed absolutely no compassion, basically her reaction was oh well, being fairly new to renting a storage space I wasn't sure what route we were to take next, so my husband asked if we call the cops..and she told us probably. Okay lady your the manager, if I was in her position I would take it amongst myself to instruct the customers what steps to take. Of course the unit has cameras, but with our luck the manager, Melissa told us that the cameras were "blacked out". Then later on throughout the day she told us the power was down last night, the time our unit got robbed! So our question was how does the gate work and the cameras dont!? My husband and I were left outside our unit for more than an hour, while Melissa (the manager) and another employee just sat at their desks doing absolutely nothing!!!! I went in their, at this point I was beyond frustrated! And said what's going on?! You guys haven't helped us out at all.. Can you look at the camera footage!? And her response was "were not aloud to look at the camera footage". By this point my husband and I were beyond frustrated. Melissa showed absolutely NO compasion, she even had the nerve to tell us we had to pay for a new lock ! Way to run salt in the wound. My question is how does something like this happen under your watch, right in front of your office. We pay you to keep our stuff safe due to the security system you have in place. The system is flawed the employees are incompetent and have the worst costumer service of any place I've ever been too!!! read more

I stored a travel trailer for a time in Victorville CA and my experience was very good. The facilities are in good order, but the reason I am writing this review (this is my first review of anything) is because of Brytnee, the young lady I dealt with. She was bright, attentive, up front and honest. I would not hesitate to use this facility again, as a long as she is still there. read more
