I got this unit do to a domestic violence incident in my home I had to take one load and grab as much as I could, everything else of mine and my 3 children was left behind. This is now all we own. Including our vehicle that I shared with him is all gone. Which means getting to and from our unit has been a struggle all in itself. We finally had time and made ride arrangements since the 100 degre weather made taking the bus just not doable With 3 small kiddos. it's been two months since my kids have set their eyes on the little things that make them smile. When we got there the office door was locked it was well past 1 pm and I was told by the employee that she had just started her lunch and to come back in about 30 mins .. I was ok with the request since there was a store right near by that we could go to and stay cool in. An hour later We came back to the office locked again and noticed her on the golf cart moving fast past the gate ..we called to her but I guess me and my babes weren't loud enough? So in the very hot sun we followed after her and finally caught up, to be told she meet us around the other side. Finally she stopped and took my payment info RIGHT THERE OUTSIDE IN THE 102* temperature ? Didn't offer to take us inside or some cold water .. nothing. At that point I'm still ignoring the strange vibes I'm getting. After the payment I asked if she could get into our unit since my purse was recently stolen. I don't have my keys. And, That was ok, No problem she said she'd meet us at my unit in a just a few mins. Thank goodness my unit was actually in a hall way where it wasnt over 100 anymore but still easily 90 something still not ideal for my kids at all.. So tell me why we sat there for almost 30 mins just waiting.. For her to come back and let me know she can't find the drill I'll have to come back in the morning at 930 when they open?!? might sound simple ... if I owned a car.. So NOw I'm irritated, and upset. And hot the kids are hot.. still no offer to cool off in the office or nothing. By then my phone was dead im sweating and we all have to use the restroom so head back to office once again it's locked we have to ask thru the door to go potty. And this is where Im just super confused. As soon as we walked in her attitude changed and seemed annoyed that we're there. Like she don't want to deal with us. Barely lets me and the kids use the rr. And says something about another customer messed up the bathroom had to call plumber .. ? Ok. And then when it's my turn she says something like I'm not sure what your doing in there but I'm gonna have to ask you to get out of the bathroom .. my kids were standing in the door as I was using the sink/mirror to wash the the SWEAT OFF MY FACE. and do my best to reapply some of the make up I lost in the process. Saying that I need to leave now because I didn't move fast enough and some other very weird comments making me feel super uncomfortable like I'm a crack head (no judgemt To any "crack heads") and I'm trying to take over their bathroom. I was in there a total maybe 6 to 7 minutes, and had the door open with my children for half of it. It's all on camera so I really hope I can find corporates number because the way my children and I were treated was beyond unprofessional it was degrading and embarrassing. Treated with no respect as customers or AS HUMANS IN GENERAL? I was in tears as I had to tell my kids to step back outside in the 100 * weather as we waited for a family member to pick us and empty handed with none of our items we came for. The stress this lady caused was so unnecessary and ugly that here I am actually writing about it. Hoping someone can do something about this ? I pay my bill I mind my business and I work in customer service.. I KNOW THAT THIS WAS VERY WRONG. People like that should not exist in that type of work. I am writing this review because of how I was treated during one of the most difficult moments of…read moremy life. What I am criticizing is the complete lack of compassion and professionalism I experienced dealing with this facility & staff. When I arrived, I was informed by scott(a staff member) that my unit had been sold. The contents of that unit included years of personal belongings, books, awards, clothing, camera equipment, and irreplaceable personal items. Instead of being told privately or with any degree of sensitivity, this information was delivered in front of other people in the lobby. This experience was humiliating. What I did not expect was the absence of basic human decency. There is a way to communicate devastating news to a customer without making them feel exposed and degraded in a public setting. There is a moral difference between an abandoned storage unit and a storage unit belonging to someone who is actively trying to save their belongings. I was not someone who disappeared, walked away, or abandoned my property. I called the week of the auction asking for help, asking for options, asking if there was anything that could be done. I was trying to save my belongings and was met with what felt like indifference and callousness. The loss of my belongings was painful enough. The manner in which the information was delivered made an already heartbreaking situation significantly worse. People going through storage auctions are often experiencing financial hardship, family crises, illness, job loss, or other major life difficulties. They deserve professionalism, dignity, and privacy. That was not my experience. This facility does not employ good people. They only want to humiliate you. What I will remember most is not that my unit was sold. I will remember how little compassion was shown to someone who was desperately trying to prevent it from happening. If you rent here, understand that when you fall on hard times, you may be treated as an account balance rather than a human being. I now associate this facility & the people they employed with one of the worst moments of my life. I will never recover from this. I am devastated. If you want your personal items to be safe, DO NOT RENT A UNIT AT THIS FACILITY!!!…read moreThere have been at least 5 burglaries since October 2024, you can verify this at https://communitycrimemap.com/ The advertised individual unit alarms do not appear to be functional (they are supposed to sound if someone accesses your unit and you are not keyed onto the premises...). Furthermore, there are NO cameras in the halls of the non-climate controlled area, making it extremely easy for thieves to conceal their actions. In the case of the burglary to my unit, Management and Police have been unhelpful so far. Avoid all of the time and money spent getting your stuff back and rent elsewhere, at least at a place with cameras inside the facility.

Upon moving out of my unit, I was informed they "do not prorate the bill on the way out, just on…read morethe way in." So in other words, they are charging for a period of 23 days of this month without providing any services. That is theft and it's disgusting. It's my money for 23 days in exchange for nothing. It's also a conscious, calculated business choice. Their calculation can factor in 1-star reviews, then. I urge all Trojan storage users to give 1-star reviews for this this reason. The employee that informed me of this theft asked "is that ok?" lol. No, it's very not ok. But of course, her hands are tied and she can't do anything about it, because it's an on-purpose, calculated, anti-consumer policy. A remedy would be as follows: 1) refund the money stolen from me for these 23 days, 2) change the policy for all Trojan Storage users so that you no longer charge for services that aren't even rendered (in other words, you need to pro-rate on the way out), and 3) issue a public apology for this embarrassingly grotesque, greedy behavior.
