In July I decided to use…read moreSecure Space storage with a locked in charge rate of $238.00 per month; it was a verbal confirmation. .....only to receive an up charge in October, 2 months after moving in, my monthly charge was going up to $355.00 per month in November. I decided to contact company as they were open to my input, however, they were only able to give me a $20.00 dollar discount. So now I pay $334.75 that started in December. Gee that's still a $95.75 increase. Even the rental markets for apartments only go up 10%. I do not recommend this company as I still feel like they gouged me and took advantage. I was able to see less cost for similar storage than current pricing before I decided on Secure Space and I hope all company's don't do this. If I had known they would do this I would have chosen another, closer to me, storage unit. I feel like I'm locked in as getting stuff to storage was costly and to remove it will be also, so I guess I'm stuck. Customer service through company office is not consistent and what reflected at office is not always same as talking and securing on line. One has to follow up to guarantee pricing. I will compliment the office staff as they are sympathetic, helpful and personal and units appear secure. I'm not sure these 2 benefits are worth the $98.00 monthly increase. I do plan on getting my things removed ASAP but that's dependent on circumstances currently waiting upon. I can't wait to vacate and save $100. Per month. Ask questions and get contacts in writing and do not assume they will be careful with you through honesty and pricing.

I have my identity jacked once and refuse to let it happen again. Anyway I show up today 8min till 4pm . Thats what time they close on sunday. I get there,the same time as another customer who i believe was getting unit.. I could be wrong . So I tell the kid I want to pay my storage I get my cash out and hes says" we dont take cash " im like what what do you mean you dont cash ? Then hes says were closing . Im like so . Ive come in at 4oclock on the nose before and paid it with no issues. Now today I cant today because of some kid is lazy .. he says we dont take cash 10min before closing .. but youll help the other chick get a storage unit. Seems like that would take a lot longer then just opening up the till and taking my money . Just saying . So I leave with out complaing . I figured ll go through some shit in my unit so driving out there wasnt a lost cause . Thats when I discovered they locked me out of my unit .. my contract says till the 10th before they lock you out.. today is the 8th . I recently wrote an honest review after the place sent me an email with a request for me to write a…read morereview for them. I am very honest and fair and never just write a review that is 5 stars or 1 star because I am emotionally charged or anything. My hope is someone will see my review and have an honest view of what to expect. 2 days after my review of this facility the manager woman I have never seen before handed me an envelope with a smile on her face and said my lease is being terminated and I have till the first to get out. She said I had multiple violations accessing the property after closing where my gate code was used. I told her that was impossible because I am very vigilant about abiding by all the rules and I promised her there is nobody who can show a single piece of evidence backing that claim. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager; so I asked to speak to someone above her and she said that I was not allowed to speak to anyone above her but she would let them know I would like to speak to them, but not to get my hopes up because these decisions are almost never reversed. I said this feels very much like I'm being discriminated against and that I'm disabled and the unit is very important to me. I repeated that I never broke the rule and nobody ever mentioned me violating a rule to allow me to make sure I never did it again and she said I was seen in the parking lot past 10pm and that is considered a violation. Me making a phone call after leaving my storage before I drove to my next destination is the claim after she realized I never accessed the gate with my code after hours and that was a bogus claim. I cannot believe I am being kicked out because I didn't give them a 5 stars review. This is the most childish behavior and to smile in someone's face when you know you are making a decision that is going to make a persons life extremely difficult is so messed up. How someone can enjoy that moment is disturbing. I used to be a Forman working up on the light rail and even when I had to fire someone who definitely deserved it, I felt terrible delivering that news because I was causing unknown hardship for him. This woman looked like it's her favorite thing to do. Save your money and energy and go to a nicer place with a better staff. These people were the worst, and their units were horrible too. I suggest going to pearl street self storage if it's convenient for you. Thank people are very nice and the units are the best I've ever seen. I can't write enough to describe how horrible secure space is. Don't go through what I went through and go somewhere else

Our first rate was quoted $92/month and when we left they notified us they would be increasing to $295/month the following pay period. We also discovered upon grabbing our stuff an abundance of mice feces all over our unit. We told the front desk and they acted like they had no idea. After doing some research later that day, we realized they lied to our face as this has been an ongoing problem with public storage for the last few years at least. Do NOT rent here and go elsewhere.
