Over a month ago, I had to move all the possessions I wanted to keep into storage. I decided to move from Homestead, Florida to Van Wert, OH. I was moving from the land of summer to the land of winter. Why? Great job offer! Thing is, I would be living in a hotel for over a month before I took control of a house I was buying up there. Because of this, I needed storage units to rent. I ended up renting two 10x15 storage units from Extra Space Storage. I did some research online and decided to rent from Extra Space Storage due to reviews I read. When I called them, I was able to take advantage of a deal giving me 50% off their normal rental price. Score! I ended up filling both to capacity and that's considering I sold most of my furniture. It's incredible how much stuff one can accumulate. Only complaint I had about my experience was that I had to wait 45-50 minutes to get access to my storage units. This cost me money (movers were paid by the hour) and was one of the reasons why all my stuff was finished moving in to the units on midnight, my birthday Jan 10. This was the day I had to fly out early in the morning. I had maybe a few hours sleep before my flight. The reason why I had to wait was because Extra space only had one employee working at the time and he had a large number of check ins, another customer coming into look to rent and had a storage auction to conduct... that's a lot for one guy. The guy stayed extra hours to get all the paperwork signed for me an everything. I can't fault the employee for working like that... I can fault the company. Still my storage unit was secure, and the price was right. read more

Excellent customer service, great staff. Diana and Erich at the front desk are really easy to work with and very friendly. Really appreciate how clean the facility is and easy to store. My possessions feel safe and secure. You need a customized code to get in gate and also after hours for the doors and elevators, so you don't feel like it is accessible to everyone. This location HAS TO BE the shining star of Extra Space Storage, Inc. I have dealt with this location for years since its opening, and it has never disappointed. Diana has been there for a while and she is WONDERFUL! She has always been friendly, extremely helpful, and possess excellent customer skills. Though I never met Albert personally, I spoke with him over the phone. Just an awesome guy! He quickly assisted me finding a unit, solving a separate issue, and he too has fantastic customer service expertise! Rachel is newly hired and has mastered the knowledge necessary to work at Extra Space. She was VERY helpful in signing me up (again), knew the ins&outs surprisingly well for a new employee, and was equally friendly and is up on her customer service skills. This facility is always clean. Security is in place to access building and storage units separately. Day or night we have never had any problems. We used the truck loaner program, which was a great benefit for us. Good value for money. I recommend it. read more

STOLEN PROPRTY!!! PD160104007244. This place doesn't secure there lot. I had my $40,000.00 travel trailer stolen from there lot and all they could produce was an awful pixelated video. The site Manager even tried to lie to me telling me that the RV was onsite. It took me driving there to validate that my trailer was there. I am very disappointed in the site and corporation. They require you to be a responsible occupant but they will not be accountable for any mistake or issue. REVIEW THE CONTRACT agree to Arbitrate reserve your legal rights. read more

I was looking to rent a storage unit last min.. I got online & found a storage place that closed at 4:30pm, that was not enough time for me to head over there. Then I came across Extra Storage Space website. I was impressed how easy it was to reserve a storage unit online & got a discount for doing just that. That gave me ample time to get myself & the baby ready to head out over there. A representative from there had already contacted me. I got there before 5:30pm (Sunday). There was 1 representative there & 3 customers. He handled himself very well. He showed me the unit I reserved & paperwork was a breeze. The facility is very clean & organized. They have security cameras & security guard. I was able to move things in the same day. Storage unit hours are very reasonable. They also have a moving truck available. I'm very pleased with their service & would recommend anyone who is looking for a professional storage unit!! read more

4 floors of storage and only the bathrooms on the 1st floor are working! I also can't believe that a moving and storage facility has no garbage cans for the customers!! Unbelievable.... read more

Horrible customer service. I drove there to rent a storage unit but couldn't get their incompetent staff to actually do the transaction. Eventually I gave up and left, which turned out to ok actually as there are better and cheaper options nearby. Don't waste your time with this place. read more

Our unit was infested with ROACHES in only 3 short months. I was horrified. I was told by the manager that "unfortunately" the unit next to ours was infested with roaches and sold in auction. I asked why they don't do courtesy calls to the units near or around so that we may open them and have them spray pest control and I was told by the manager that it would be a waste of time and not "realistic." I was told first that it wouldn't make a difference because the roaches might of already traveled to our unit, then I was told it was not realistic, then I was told there is no way to prove roaches travel from unit to unit. There needs to be a more strategic protocol in place when there is KNOWN ROACH INFESTATION. Obviously that takes more than just the regular pest control they supposedly say they do weekly. I was DISGUSTED with the customer service and our experience as a whole. First and definitely last time I will ever store anything in storage nonetheless Extra Storage Space. I will make it a point to make this known as I am still waiting for a call from upper management but apparently the issue is not important. They got paid and don't care for their customers belongings. DISGUSTING!!!!!! read more
