And conveniently sent out mail THREE weeks later so they could scam their late fee. When I brought it to their attention that they called the wrong number...she pulled out my paperwork and sure enough.. there was my actual phone number in my handwriting..in the computer they conveniently changed the number. They wouldnt own up to there error and provide me a refund. Go figure.

I was completely stuck and trying to find the number for roadside assistance when the owner of Sunset Self Storage, Jim Derrick, drove by while laying salt on the very slippery road. He came back to where I was stuck and asked if I had someone to pull me out of the ditch. I hadn't reached roadside assistance yet and so he offered to pull me out. Within a few minutes he had me pulled out of the ditch and safely on my way. He asked for nothing in return, simply saved me from having to sit in the freezing cold for who knows how long waiting for a tow truck. When visiting a unit in winter we found a heater condensate pipe running through the wall had frozen, burst and sent corrosive water on our things. The office was unstaffed and the 800 was unable to contact anyone for help. My 82 yr old husband and I had to move heavy items to safety, a three hour effort! Public Storage ignored our calls for help and a simple repair that was made would not prevent the same situation again, indeed it has refrozen within a day. I dreaded looking for a new company until I found STORAGE SENSE. WOW! What a change for the better! A great new facility on Sunset Drive in Waukesha, WI, is a solid, clean, secure structure with an on-site manager that really understands customer service. I am married to a saver, a wonderful, kind gentleman who, in fact, has moved a box containing old-ass Netflix return envelopes from one residence to another. I digress... If you're a City of Milwaukee resident, or you have a buddy with a MKE address the facility is FREE to use. We were long time Tosa residents and were used to paying something for every trip to dump crap off (I think it is $5 per trip or something). That's a big savings if you're moving like we are and need to get rid of general junk, yard waste, cardboard, old furniture, etc. You DO have to pay if you're dumping "construction waste" - stuff like wood or drywall waste. That's $20 per load and meant to discourage small contractors from filling up the dumpsters. I get it, but it would be nice if there were some provision for the homeowner with a light load. The people that work here are really nice - they happily direct you to the right place. For a dump, it's pretty clean too, even on busy days. There are enough bays that we've never had to wait - it's a painless process overall. So if you've got a bunch of crap laying around, check this place out - hopefully you'll see me getting rid of clutter!
