If you value your possessions, your sanity, and/or your dignity, do NOT, under any circumstances store your belongings here! The staff have all been categorically disrespectful, rude, incompetent, and unprofessional in the most extreme senses of all of those. I have been lied to - about the space itself, the elevators in the building, and the actual cost of service. I have been harassed - with endless phone calls when it's some error in THEIR system that prevented a payment from going through on time. They disabled my autopay without notifying me and have failed to send me a bill of any kind after the first month. They tried to tell me that the only way I could pay with a credit card was to physically come down to the office and sign a release, when I'd already successfully paid with my card online several times. I got several telephone calls from one employee in particular, trying to get me to come down to the office, despite the fact that I now live in another state and this is reflected in my account documentation, and who then, when I said I didn't understand what he wanted me to do because I'd been able to pay online before, he said, "Oh. Well if you want to pay ONLINE, yeah, but to pay over the PHONE, you have to sign the release." I pointed out that I had never attempted to pay over the phone, and that it was HE who kept calling ME despite my online payment having been confirmed, and he hung up on me. At every turn, whenever I've made some complaint - in calm, even tones, I have gotten the same response: A shrug and a comment that I could just take my business elsewhere if I wasn't satisfied. read more

Very unsatisfactory move-in experience at this location. On a weekday morning, we spent over 2 hrs. (30 min of which for actual moving in) either activating the access code (which still doesn't work), finding the reserved locker or waiting around. When the on-site staff couldn't find the locker and in turn called the facility manager, his cell was disconnected. Then when I requested AAA discount, the receiver said it was too late and would have to reinitiate the sign up process and risk losing the locker. Finally, I was charged for not only the 1st month but what appears to be a fee for holding the reservation. In retrospect, I don't believe the cost savings at this location was worth the hassle. read more

Moved in on 12/29/17 and on 4/23/18 they sent me a notice that my rent was going up $40.00 per month. After calling the I was informed that this is normal and that I should expect an increase every 9 to 12 months additionally. This is no way to keep costumers and I am starting to look for new storage. read more

This has to do with the company itself. I got my storage in September 2015 then when 2016 came in they raise my price by 40 dollars! I get that it goes up but not when I just signed the contract I would understand when I had completed my year. Sadly I need the place and will have to continue paying 250 dollars. read more

This place, or, probably the company, is running a total scam. What they don't tell you when you take all the time, money and energy to move all of your things in here is that they raise your rent after 5 months, and then again 9 months later. I'm paying 24% more than I was a year ago. They didn't tell me that they were going to just steal from me like that. Also, at this particular location the large freight elevator can only be used by one person at a time, and the smaller elevator is usually broken, and if it's not then you can't use it if the last person who used it didn't close the doors properly. There are lots of other little annoyances too, like there won't be any carts available, there won't be anyone in the office, or there'll be a homeless guy bathing in the bathroom. I was very impressed with the customer service and assistance I received at this location. Came here on short notice and the representatives at the front desk were very understanding and willing to help. They gave me 50% off for both 5x5 units for the first month and explained how the units are monitored 24/7 and are safe at all times. Every customer when they walk into the building are visually seen by the front desk reps during office hours and the units are all secured after working hours to ensure the safety of all of my assets. I love the transparency and the fact that I know that all of my items are secure at all times. The rep that helped me initially both times was Emrilda (may have misspelled her name) and she was fantastic. Will refer all my friends here and continue to do business here every chance I get! read more

Every time I arrived to access my space, Amaya and Raul greeted me enthusiastically and were always extremely helpful and accommodating. I only needed the space for a few months. I picked this location because of the awesome Yelp reviews and I'm glad to say they proved to be true! Every step of my rental experience was easy. Their company website is easy to navigate. I reserved my space and received a confirmation phone call shortly thereafter. I also received helpful emails informed me of my next steps. The day before my check in date, I received another confirmation phone call from the facility. I appreciate it when a business is on top of their customer service game! When I arrived, I found that I'd underestimated the size of the unit I reserved. No problem! I was able to upgrade to the next size up. The staff was helpful, courteous and funny. They even gave me a tip on a great Greek restaurant across the street! Move in day was awesome as well. I thought there might be issues with using a freight elevator and being on an upper floor, but as it turns out, the move goes faster because you're unloading in stages. In all I am so happy I found Extra Space Storage and will recommend this location any time I'm asked! read more

I've been renting here for about a year and a half and they haven't had a functioning elevator for months. There's a sign up saying that service has been stopped indefinitely. I think this place has 8 floors. Have a refrigerator you need to move to the 8th floor? In theory they have movers who will do it, but they're only available on certain days of the week and are always booked. When I was here recently moving about 10 loads of stuff up to the 4th floor without assistance, a woman was screaming at the movers for taking too many breaks and wasting her time. Justified or not, I don't know, but I'll tell you what's not justified: removing elevator services and continuing to regularly up the rent without any consideration for the extreme inconvenience to customers. This place is a ridiculous scam. Stay away. read more

As a first timer w storage units and new to LA, I didn't know what to expect! I am so happy I chose Extra Space Storage AND the Pico Blvd location because Amaya, the Assistant Manager, was so helpful and got me an amazing deal! I originally chose this storage company because of the great online deal and knowing I did not need a lot of space just selected the smallest available unit. When I showed up I realized I may need just a slightly bigger unit and Amaya said no problem and upgraded me while still giving me an excellent deal! He was very helpful, knowledgable, and super fast! I also feel the need to mention this man is a very hard worker and somehow managed to help me and 6 other people all at the same time while being friendly and professional. - not quite sure how he does it, but I definitely give him props! I was also impressed that this storage unit sold locks and other random items needed for storage because I had already planned to make a trip to target but no longer needed to! Overall I am super impressed with this company and this location and recommend it to everyone! read more

The staff here is extremely rude here and the elevator is broken most of the time. The large woman at the front desk told my aunt she was interrupting her call which is absurd since we could not find an employee to help us for 10 minutes. Would not recommend leaving your stuff here ever. Also appears that some people are living from the storage units which is quite suspicious. I would leave zero stars if it were possible for this storage facility. read more
