She showed my husband and me around, made sure we knew the " lay of the land," knew how to lock and unlock our unit, and knew the best way to use the elevator. Everyone who we passed, Kim greeted by name and exchanged pleasantries. The customers there certainly were positive and happy. Terrible experience for multiple reasons…read more - There is only 1 elevator to access floors 2 and 3. - If the elevator breaks (which it did while I was storing my things there for only 4 months) and you happen to have a unit on the 2nd or 3rd floor...then you're out of luck. And the customer service was TERRIBLE, in that they did not empathize with the issue, were not able to give a timeframe on when it would be fixed, and also did not provide a notification to tenants (even though I requested one personally) once the elevator was fixed. This gave a good 3-4 week window of NO ACCESS to my unit. One day out of necessity I made 3 trips to the 3rd floor by way of STAIRS to access my belongings...unbelievable. - There is rarely someone in the office during office hours. Multiple times I went by (during open hours) to ask questions or needing help with something...and nobody is there. And the door to the office is ALWAYS locked (whether someone is in there or not...if they are you have to wait outside knocking until someone hears you from their back office and decides to come out) ...and they also don't answer the phone. So don't expect help from anyone. - There is only ONE CART. ONE. To move all of your things in and out as well as everyone else's things. And like other reviews said, tough luck if you're there at the same time as someone else. You'll have to share somehow. This is a 3 story - two building storage unit...how does that add up? - Last, if you have an issue with your payment and it doesn't go through for any reason - don't expect them to return, refund or remove any fees (which they will add quickly and lavishly), even if you've never been late and it was a special circumstance. Bill will just tell you there's nothing he can do...or say he'll "get back to you" and then not follow up and instead cut your lock off and put their own on (requiring you to buy another one) in prep for AUCTION. This is after ONE payment issue for ONE month. Not helpful at all, I will never rent a space from this storage unit again.

I entered all of my contact information, my credit card information, and chose the size storage unit we were interested in. Prior to the checkout process, I noticed there were some extra charges in the itemization, specifically pertaining to a padlock and flood insurance, neither of which were optional. I did not agree that those items should not be optional, so I left the website without finishing the order, and closed my browser. *To be clear, what I am saying is that I did not complete the order. I left the website without going through the checkout process. I did not click Submit, I did not accept any charges, and I did not sign a contract for the rental of the storage unit. I simply left the website completely.* On November 26th I noticed there was a charge on my credit card dated November 15th from Extra Space Storage. There was a company phone number listed in the description of the transaction on my online account, so I called this number and spoke with a man named Roy. Roy listened to my explanation of what happened. He said he could not find my name or phone number in his system, and did not know why I had been charged if I was not in his system. He said he would look into the problem and call me back on Monday. Unfortunately, Roy did not leave me feeling very confident that he understood the situation, so I thought it best to contact my bank and initiate a dispute of the charge so there would be a record of it. The following Monday, December 2nd, Roy called me and we spoke briefly. Roy still did not seem to understand the situation, so I explained it all again. I also encouraged him to contact the IT department for their company website and ask them if they could find any sort of error with the website that would cause it to initiate a charge even though an order had not been completed. He told me he would try to look up the people responsible for that and speak to them about my experience. (I have not heard from Roy since then.) My bank issued a temporary reversal of the charge while they investigated, but say the company has not yet responded to their questions (now a month later). All of this was a very unfortunate first impression of Extra Space Storage. Today I got an email from them asking me to review them on Google, Facebook, and Yelp, hence the review.

The gentleman that assisted us were very welcoming and friendly and they had a great promotion for a 5x10 storage for $49 a month so we took it! Also, we had our u-haul trailer that needed to get dropped off at another location, but we were able to drop it off at Storage Max which saved us time and made it so much easier! I highly recommend to come here, great service and great staff :)

It showed there was a 5x5 available for under $30.00 so I chose it because it looked clean and is close to my apartment. As soon as I walk in I notice the manager Katrina give me and my friend a dirty look and did not even greet us. I asked if there was a 5x5 available cause that's what it showed online and she said she didn't know but would look. after looking for 5 mins she rudely informed me that the only thing available was climate controlled as if I still wouldn't book it. I said I would take it, she asked if I want to do the 1 free month or 35% off monthly. I said the free month since I only needed it for two months. She proceeds to tell me its $54.00, I pay and then ask her what that takes me to. She said only June, I ask her I thought I got a free month and she rudely again says I haven't paid anything. I asker her what the $54.00 was that I just paid for then and she says it was for the admin, lock and insurance fee...Not once did she go over pricing with me or tell me what I was paying for, all she said was to swipe my cards. So then I tell her ok well then I want to pay for the month, she charges me an additional $53.00 for the month. I managed a storage facility for 3 years and know this is not how you run one. Super rude management who doesn't go over pricing or any hidden fees, I shouldn't have to pay for insurance or at least inform me that I have to pay for it as well as an admin fee. She also did not tell me how to use the gate code or how to get in or where my unit was located, I had to figure everything out on my own. The whole time we were there I felt like we were inconveniencing her. The two stars is for the gated property and how clean the inside of the unit was but I would not recommend renting here. I wish I would of taken my things else where but after just driving 1,500 miles I was all ready exhausted.
