We have been living in this…read moreneighborhood for over 2 decades and have had our unit with LifeStorage/ExtraSpaceStorage for about 2 years now. The price was stable, having adjusted only once during this time by ~15%. Last week we were surprised to receive a postcard announcing that our rate would increase nearly 65% from this month to next. This came with little justification other than, '.. our rates are reviewed and adjusted depending on current market conditions'. A complaint filed through the BBB netted a response that was neither empathetic nor offered any justification. "We would like to acknowledge that rental agreements with Extra Space are strictly month-to-month, therefore, rates are not guaranteed for any specified amount of time." It would appear to us that Extra Space Storage would have no issues increasing another 65% (or more?) to their monthly storage fees with only a 30-day notice. This leads me to believe that they are having their existing customers be the ones that foot the bill for the recent acquisition by Extra Space Storage. (See ref below) This is one of the more absurd slaps in the face we have witnessed by a business within our community. I've just taken the time to confirm; similar units at much newer facilities in Round Rock run anywhere from $99.75/mo to $117.75/mo and similarly, are climate-controlled like ours. We will not stand for this degree of price gouging as a faithful customer and have been forced to discontinue our business with Extra Space Storage due to a lack of trust and respectful business practices. The facility is fairly new and has a lot of big and small storage spots. You can park boats, RVs, and trailers while the spacing is available. The spaces are even marked and easy to maneuver your trailers around. They have fire extinguishers ready available on each row of storage. If you are looking for a big storage and not worried about climate control this is a storage facility you should check out. 15x30, 10x25, 10x20, and smaller sizes are available. There is an office building, however, the owner is usually not there. But if you call the number and set up an appointment the owner will come out to do business with you.

The officer I spoke to says the owner is difficult and forth coming with any information my guess is he obviously is in on it or knows who did it. Oh and if you try to ask if he's insured he will tell you he's not and your pretty much out of luck on anything you lost.

When I called to speak to Kitty regarding this charge, she is stating she had to sweep out the back of the truck. I again explained there was nothing left in the truck so this is a false charge. You don't lock the back of the truck when you leave it, the lock and keys go into their mailbox, so anyone could have placed trash in the back after I left. This is totally a ridiculous charge and a bold face lie . I would not recommend renting from this uhaul !

However, you do get what you pay for. We have 2 media shelves that we have moved across the country as well as another move in Austin that has stayed in tact and was never an issue being moved. One of the movers picked the first one up and the moment he left the apartment we hear a big crash and a "um the shelf fell apart on its own". Of course no one saw what happened, but the next shelf that was moved was completely fine. They aren't responsible because of a liability waiver they make you sign for anything that is made up of particle boards (and they make you sign a waiver for this - which I haven't done so with any other company). So, I think my husband wouldn't have been as mad if 1) the mover said "I'm sorry, I slipped" or something like that since they can't be liable anyways, and 2) we can fix it, which we tried glue gun and all, but we will just have to get a new one... so, we saved on 1 hour of labor but will have to use that savings on a new media shelf. The other thing that annoyed me is that I was quoted for 2 people, but 3 showed up and they wanted to charge me for the 3 movers vs 2. They told me it's because they were so busy and running behind... Then tried to tell me it's a better deal because they will move faster. We got this resolved, but I have a feeling that if I didn't fight for my quote, I would have been charged $130 vs the $90 I was quoted. If you have furniture from ikea or anything that isn't real wood, don't utilize them, because they won't be liable for breaking them. The thing I liked is the value, but it has come back and bit me in the ass.

My boyfriend and I had an absolute nightmare of a time after our old car was towed straight out of our driveway. We were told no vehicles with expired tags could stay (even though I own this home...HOA). We needed to find both a storage place to park our car AND a tow truck to take it from the towed lot to the facility... We originally called a closer place, which weren't able to accommodate us. They recommended that we call Private Warehouse - lucky for us!!!!!! Not only did we get a fabulous rate, but the owners went out of their way to set up a VERY reasonably priced tow truck to take us. And if this wasn't enough, they found space in their already full lot AND stayed 2 hours past closing time to make sure we were accommodated that day. It's very rare these days that you meet people as kind, genuine and hardworking as Abby and Clay. We were lucky to have found them and would HIGHLY recommend them. Give them a call!

So I needed a place to store my pickup a few days because my mechanic didnt have space for it at…read morehis shop yet. I went by Private Warehouse to check their rates for short time vehicle storage and the lady in the office said that it would be good to store it there because they would pro rate discount the charges to match whatever percentage of the month that I actually stored the pickup there. I stored my pickup there for 4 days and moved it to my mechanics shop. I moved it on the last day of the month so you would expect that the charges would have stopped then ... especially since I had payed a pro rated charge in advance for those 4 days of $11.00 . When I saw on my Wells Fargo account web page that a debit was pending for a another full month of storage I called their office and talked to another lady about it. She said the first lady misrepresented their policies and that they were within their rights to charge me for a month of storage even though I took my pickup out of their facility on the last day of the month . She said Im sorry and hung up. I just looked at my Wells Fargo account web page again and so far they have charged me 65 dollars for October in addition to the 11 dollars pro rated charge that I payed in advance for the last 4 or 5 days of September. Perhaps Private Warehouse needs money even worse than me and my family and that is how they justify charging me 76 dollars for storing my pickup there for 4 days ? You be the judge ... Would I have stored my truck there if I had been told it would cost me 19 dollars a day ? I do not think so. Do I recommend doing business with Private Warehouse ? I reckon I do not .
