However...the rate increases are unconscionable and I am extremely disappointed. I moved my things into a 10X15 unit on 6/16/ 2025 for a fantastic move-in special of $110/month. After 5 months the rate increased to $171/month, a 55.45% increase. I was a little concerned, but knew rates had to increase and figured it was still a fairly good price. Six months later, the price increased again to $271/month!! This amounts to a 59% increase over 6 months, and a whopping 146% increase over the course of 11 months!!! My rating is based solely on pricing practices.

The storage facility itself is fine (though finding a dolly when you arrive can be hit or miss), but if you opt to use this place, just plan on leaving within a year or two to go somewhere that is significantly less expensive once they jack up your rates.

Today we arrived the power was turned off the working door. A man was trying to manually open the door with trouble. During the day of move in, the facility staff practiced MD retail covid-19 practices and I was provided a contract, then it was all explained to me. I signed the contract and started moving in. The facility has 24 hour surveillance, keypad and gate at entry and exit, lighting and climate control at the storage unit, and Space to unload and pickup. There's also ample moving supplies for purchase. I'm completely satisfied with my decision to work with Storage Mart!

In the course of 2 years, company decided to raise my agreed rental rate 3 times for up to 50% more than initially agreed. After confronting the manager, I was told this is out of their hands since corporate decides when and how much the rental increases occur. Instead of moving my business elsewhere, manager offered a smaller unit at a much lesser rate, taking into account that "rate will not increase for at least a year and even if it does, increase will be marginal". Trusting this company I decided to go ahead with the downgrade. To my surprise, less than 4 months later I receive ANOTHER RATE INCREASE NOTICE!! This time the increase would be for more than 50% starting next month. This increase like all the others happen for NO JUSTIFIABLE reason. As expressed by many others, this company has a long history of PREDATORY BILLING PRACTICES. They purposely wait for you to be settled with your storage to increase your rates, not by a marginal amount but increases of over 50% of your agreed rental agreement. I appealed this with their superiors in writing but they failed to even respond. I am now in the process of starting to take legal action against this company and needless to say I recommend everyone to stay away from this corporation completely!

They tell you to move to a bigger unit to lower rent then 4 months later it is increased. The elevators work occasionally. The temperature control doesn't work. It's very dim in the building in certain areas. There is never carts available and trash is always lying around. I wouldn't waste my time or money. They make the front lobby look nice but the rest of the area is nasty and outdated. It's not a safe area. Pick a newer storage place. There are so many nearby.

It started with me going on their website for some size and price research. Online, they offer special rates that they may not offer at-location, plus other promos like first-month free. For sizing, they had visualizations of the different units and what could fit in each (whole medium bedroom, for example). I submitted a quote for a 10x10 unit and got a call immediately after for follow-up. On move-in day, Amanda and Bridgette got me processed and settled so fast. They discussed the T&C with me and then walked me to the unit before signing. Immediately, the cleanliness stood out to me. So happy I chose to rent here! Some quick, helpful tidbits: - You can purchase a lock with them on site. They do not hold any keys. - Rent is due on the first of the month and can be paid via customer portal. - Someone lives on-site to help you with all your needs (I did not know this!)

Friendly, welcoming, and helpful, with excellent customer service. What can you say about storage units, really? It was clean when I opened the door for the first time, so that's good. The rolling carts are very helpful for schlepping your stuff in and out, especially if you're not on the ground floor. So why only 4 stars? Well, the elevator is the slowest I have ever seen in my life. There is no climate control, so the second floor is HOT. There are no lights or electricity in a basic unit (don't know about basement or first floor, or maybe you can rent one that has it). The call button near the elevator, meant to call the office if you need help, is turned off. The system is old and apparently caused such a loud racket in the office that it was just deactivated. So if you need help during office hours, you'll be trekking to the office in person. The price is good and there was an incentive for the first month or three months, I lost track LOL. You are encouraged to set up auto-pay, but not required to. I'm happy that everything can be done electronically - save a tree or two! All in all, I'm very satisfied but my "would you recommend it" had to be a maybe. Some folx might really prefer to have the things this one doesn't. For me, it works!
