Closetbox picked my things up from a Public Storage unit which had been broken into (this the reason for moving my things out) and delivered them to their facility. Unfortunately, I experienced a financial setback and could not afford to keep using Closetbox. They did something incredibly kind for me-they delivered my stuff to a location of my choice within a 20 mile radius of their facility for free!!!!! They're not just a business, they are kind and compassionate people.

Well I guess I'm an outlier but it's probably useful for me to share my experience. I had a very…read moreeasy time booking my service and the estimates for moving things was fine, although it was a bit strange that a couple of lamps raised my rate/month by $5/month. (Doesn't make any sense? Let's keep going). Evidently there's important fine print in the pick up confirmation email regarding what the mover will and will not do. They will pick up your stuff, but you're expected to disassemble your own bed and wrap all glass and mirrors. I didn't mind paying for these services, but they definitely need to share this information when you book over the phone. I would venture that a good chunk of people have at very least never disassembled a bed. I called them twice to let them know I would need help. Evidently this was confusing each time I told them because they all seemed to forget I told them. Then the day of the pick up came. I went to my old apartment and wrapped the glass I could lift myself. I taped my drawers. All this was done before 9am. The time window I was given was between 9 and 11. By 10:50, they called and told me that it would be 1pm. Then began four hours of back and forth and an utter inability to contact those actually picking up my stuff. They finally arrived at 440. 20 minutes before my service elevator reservation was up. I had to ask for an extension and the building was not happy-they shockingly like to plan for convenience for their inhabitants coming from work. The movers did fine, although they grumbled quite a bit about helping me wrap the things I'd mentioned several times that I would need help with. But the attitude was very, "we have no idea why you're so put out." Um...I get running behind. But 6-8 hours late is bulls*it. The company credited me $25 for my trouble but I have to say, this doesn't begin to cover it. Closetbox then said a customer service rep would be contacting me to address my complaints. Evidently someone called and failed to leave a msg. I think they're scared of me, but all I've done is express dissatisfaction and I think I should be credited for a month for the awful service + extreme delay.

The second property across the street has extensive exterior damage and evident flooding and water damage. The storage is incredibly overpriced for its current condition. Pros: - Convenient location - Move-in specials - Remote gate access Cons: - Locked on property at closing time, with no mention of this or the 3 strikes policy in the contract. - Unprofessional and confrontational staff - Unkempt landscape with constant tree debris and vermin - Poor condition of storage units on the second property: water damage, exterior damage, missing fire extinguishers, blown outdoor lights, large gap between pedestrian and vehicle gates, and a tampered gate mechanism Overall, despite the location and move-in specials, the poor condition of the property and unprofessional staff make this storage option not worth the high cost.

The only comments I have that make this a 4 and not 5 star rating are that a queen-size boxspring will not fit in horizontally. One of the latches on the box door was broken and wouldn't close all the way, so it shipped with one lock not locked. It's made of sheets of plywood, so watch out for splinters.
