The excuse given was they were grandfathered in and they were under new management. There was no sign indicating new management. I cancelled the service. Not good Christmas spirit. I am not happy with the service. Carson bragged he was getting paid time and a half for the day. Do not use this place, there are plenty of places to rent.

I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.

I didn't try it but I think there was a snowball's chance in hell I was going to be able to make that work at my existing storage facility. Enter Secure RV. This place is primarily designed for storing RVs so the rows are nice and wide and the parking spots are too. This makes picking up and dropping off the boat a breeze. This facility has 24-hour access with your own passcode. Rates were about $60 for outside parking, and $120 for covered parking. Parking spots are 10 x 30 or something like that. If you have an RV they have an onsite mechanic and various other services.

I wasn't expecting that anyone could do it in a week, but they got it done. The prices are competitive and there is someone on site to help with questions, propane or parts (unlike most other storage places around here).
