Everyone was friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the whole move. The only thing I would mention is that the move took longer than we originally expected. BUT honestly, I don't really see this as a negative because it was clear that they were taking their time and doing things the right way. We've had movers in the past who rushed, cut corners, and ended up damaging things, so I would much rather have a team take a little longer and be careful with our stuff. I reached out via cell and Alex responded the same day asking for more info. I texted it all to him. The next day he emailed me a quote and laid out all the info. The pricing was very fair, and based on his quick response time and great reviews, I decided to hire them. I am very glad that I did. My move went extremely well. I hired 2 movers and a 20-foot truck. Eugene and Serg were great. They clearly communicated their arrival time and kept me updated via text. There were 2 pick up locations - my storage unit and my parent's house. They had everything from storage wrapped and packed into the truck in 2 hours. Then we went to my parents for a few more things, we were out of there in under an hour. They drove to Jersey City and then had the entire truck unpacked and moved in and all the packing material cleaned up in 3 hours. It was an extremely hot day and the guys worked really hard and very quickly. When the crew arrived, they said it would probably take more than the 3-hour minimum. My wife initially asked if they could try to get it done in 3 hours, but when they explained it might take longer, she agreed to go up to 4 or 5 hours and pay for the extra time. The crew still left and didn't do the move. We had to be out that Sunday, so we had to find another mover at the last minute. A different two-person company came at around 4 PM and did the same type of move, including wrapping and protecting the furniture, and finished in under 3 hours. They also had to deal with traffic and a 45-minute drive. What really bothers me is that Compass is keeping our $50 deposit and saying that my wife refused to pay for more than 3 hours. That's not what happened. We were willing to pay for the additional time. We've had good experiences with Compass in the past, which is why we recommended them to others. Unfortunately, after this experience and the way the situation was handled, I can't recommend them anymore.
