Really disappointed with Compass, especially because we had used them several times before and recommended them to a number of friends. This was a one-bedroom move. When the crew arrived, they said it would probably take more than the 3-hour minimum. My wife initially asked if they could try to get it done in 3 hours, but when they explained it might take longer, she agreed to go up to 4 or 5 hours and pay for the extra time. The crew still left and didn't do the move. We had to be out that Sunday, so we had to find another mover at the last minute. A different two-person company came at around 4 PM and did the same type of move, including wrapping and protecting the furniture, and finished in under 3 hours. They also had to deal with traffic and a 45-minute drive. What really bothers me is that Compass is keeping our $50 deposit and saying that my wife refused to pay for more than 3 hours. That's not what happened. We were willing to pay for the additional time. We've had good experiences with Compass in the past, which is why we recommended them to others. Unfortunately, after this experience and the way the situation was handled, I can't recommend them anymore. read more

I recently hired Compass Moving to help me with a big move, and I cannot say enough good things about them. At first, I was skeptical because I had seen some mixed reviews, but our experience was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, they exceeded every expectation we had. The majority of our things were not even packed when they arrived. Despite this, the team was incredibly patient and understanding. They worked around us while we were still packing and even helped us pack some of our items. Their professionalism and kindness were truly remarkable. We had so much stuff that they have to come back for a second day, but they handled it so graciously. They went above and beyond to make the process as smooth as possible. The way they packed our storage unit was like watching a perfect game of Tetris. Everything fit so neatly and efficiently, it was amazing to see their skill in action. Both my wife and I are very particular about the service we receive, and Compass Moving exceeded our high standards. They were fast, professional, and extremely skilled. Honestly, we were the ones holding them up because we weren't as prepared as we should have been. Had we been ready, they would have moved everything out of our home much faster. Absolutely horrible experience with Compass Moving Company. They showed up 1.5 hours late and then proceeded to milk the clock. I was quoted around 3.5 hours for the entire move and it ended up taking that just to load. Mind you I wrapped everything myself in preparation with the exception of one dresser and 3 couch cushions. I took down every tv and organized everything for a seamless move. However, due to their delay, my storage unit closed before they finished, and they tried to charge me extra to hold my items overnight until I pushed back. They returned the next day and took another 4 hours just to unload which is ridiculous for what was essentially 20 boxes, 5 dressers, 4 TVs, a desk, 2 couches, a coffee table, and 2 bed frames (no mattresses). That's not even a full household move. For context: my husband and brother-in-law moved the rest of our stuff into a 10x15 unit (same floor, same building) in 2 hours using pickup trucks! Compass had three movers and a 25 ft truck, and still claimed the truck was "filled to the ceiling," which is laughable considering my 10x20 storage unit had plenty of room left. To top it all off, they complained about "waiting an hour for payment" the next day while I was at work and couldn't answer my phone. Instead of waiting or being professional, they were texting my sister, who was also working. The owner then accused me of withholding payment when I simply wasn't available at that moment. In the end, I paid $1,326 for a partial move that should've cost half that and taken half the time. This company is dishonest, inefficient, and unprofessional. They overcharge, underdeliver, and then try to guilt-trip you when you stand up for yourself. Avoid Compass Moving at all costs. You've been warned. read more

They are a complete scam. They take a huge deposit and then they put you with somebody else they'll let you know you're not gonna get your furniture or belongings for weeks then they turn around and try to keep your deposit or at least 80% of it. They're not BBB accredited, and they have the worst reviews of you really look into it. read more

Compass was hired to move my mom out of a 4/3 one day, and then into a new home the next day. Our plan was to leave her things in the moving truck we rented overnight. After an extremely successful day one of moving out, it turned out her new place was unlivable and we had to shift plans quickly. While we figured it out, they were readily available to help us move her belongings into storage. Weeks later when we had a new home ready to go they, again, were super responsive and helpful. We used compass moving to move some pretty heavy furniture. They showed up on time, and wrapped my furniture and moved everything carefully. I had an oversized mirror I was worried about but they were able to wrap it and transport it safely. They had to move some heavy pinball machines into the basement with a tight turn and they were able to do perfectly. I highly recommend them, they were absolutely great! read more

Definitely not a good experience to say the least. I only left a one star because at least one star is required to leave a review. I hired compass moving through thumbtack. I was quoted 4 movers, and a 26'-foot box truck. My appointment time was at 9am. Beforehand, we were told that we are given a one-hour arrival window. Fast forward to 10:55am, I called to inquire where the team was because no one had arrived nor called yet. The gentleman I spoke with advised me that their truck broke down and they would arrive within 15-20 minutes. Which is no problem, but a simple call or text would've been suffice. At 11:30, the team arrived and began to work. Fast forward, I was told it would take 2-2.5 hours for the guys to break everything down, wrap everything, and load the truck, at 2:30pm when I arrived to check on the team, the team was still working. Roughly 80% done. Despite this being 30 minutes past the original time. At 3:15, the team was finally done and was ready to head to the drop off location. Considering that we would go over the quoted time, as well as their lack of competency, I decided to have them just deliver the furniture and not reassemble anything they disassembled from the previous house. I explained this to two of the four movers several times, however the team insisted on trying to reassemble things (more or so in the bedrooms) Despite providing the team with a tour of both locations, and labeling furniture, some furniture was still mixed up amongst our three bedrooms. The company charges $219 per hour for four movers but two Of the movers sat outside reorganizing their car and laughing and giggling (our doorbell camera can confirm this) why should the consumer have to pay for this? I paid the bill in full at the end, no credits were offered for my inconvenience, their tardiness, as well as the lack of supervising their team. I didn't get to work with them but I did paid the deposit to pick up some furniture and the seller backed out but compass moving return my deposit within 5mins which makes me understand that this are good people.
