Bushes burnt down while we were staying there.
    Dandy W.

We ended our anticipated stay just after 3 days due to some challenges we had with this place: Earlier in the week as we returned picking up kids from school it turned out that the bushes in front of the hotel caught fire and entirely burned down in front someone's room. Given the fact that guests don't take the no smoking within 25 feet serious, it doesn't surprise me. 2 days ago, someone stole the hitch pin of the hitch to my car leaving hitch loose and at risk of losing the hitch and hitch ball on the freeway. The odor in the hotel is unbearable, first night the hallway stunk like dead fish, today like mashed potatoes. The hotel had a trash room on the first floor where people take their trash to, often only after it started stinking up their room. When this room is filled and smelly, one of the employees takes a bit cart with all the trash to dump it in a dumpster behind the building. That dumpster is overloaded with loose trash and it you wait 5 minutes you can see the occasional rat looking to feast. I ended up gagging all the way to our room, even the employee taking the trash out couldn't stand how horrible it smelled. The parking lot has some seriously beat down cars in their lot, one we saw was packed entirely with molding food stacked up against the rear window. Breakfast, without sitting area consists of a chewy bar or a wrapped muffin and a cup of coffee. The positive, there is a Starbucks across the street and an amazing breakfast place name me Crystal Creek Cafe within walking distance. Another positive is that we didn't get bug bites in the smelly rooms, and that the staff was friendly. We checked out 5 days early and will be getting refund..

Pros: Cheap and close to my business trip site. Has mini kitchen if needed and fridge. Cons: Needs a overall renovation update. Kitchen is not ready to use. Have to ask for utensils on the front desk. Water run on the shower head is poor. The free shampoo on the toilet is actually empty. I can go on for more but overall experience here is very poor. Housekeeper miss our room to clean or just didn't clean at all? Bed is not tucked in, no fresh towels, trash hasn't got picked up. Double disappointed overall.

Overnight visit with my daughter who goes to college in the area. Went on Priceline.com to book a room. Got a great deal, but it was scary since you don't know which hotel property you are going to get when you make the bid. The location of this hotel was great - conveniently located right off 405. There are several restaurants and stores in the surrounding area. The property was well maintained and the parking lot was very well lit. Upon check-in, front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We were assigned a first floor non-smoking room. First impressions of the room - it smelled funny. That was first and foremost impression. While we were out for the evening, we stopped and bought air freshener. It was that bad. Not sure what the odor was. My daughter thought smoke, but I'm not sure that was it. The room was a single queen bed. Mattress was firm, but not uncomfortable. Small flat screen tv, recliner, one desk table with chair and a small kitchen table with chair. Closet was open with a curtain. Cheap looking white wire racks, but there was an iron and an ironing board so it all serves its function. The small kitchen was nice and seemed to be pretty well equipped, including microwave, stove top and a full sized refrigerator. For a stay longer than one night, this would be ideal. The bathroom was clean, but lacking in some basic amenities that we have come to expect are included in hotel stays: shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer. I went and inquired at the desk and was happy to know that they were available there. Shampoo and conditioner may have also been available (I know they had tooth brushes and tooth paste), but I didn't need them so I didn't ask. They offer a "Grab and Go" breakfast. Coffee, hot water, hot cocoa packets, tea packets, instant oatmeal packets, fruit, muffins and granola bars. Very disappointed that I didn't see any orange juice or milk offered. On-site laundry facility is a nice bonus. Credit card required vending machines are also available. Free wi-fi "lite" in your room, you can pay to upgrade to faster wi-fi if needed. Nice enough hotel with very friendly staff. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Just would remember to bring an air freshener from home next time in case the rooms always smell funny.

This is the blood they didn't bother to clean from the ceiling in the shower.

This place is a biohazard. DON'T STAY HERE. THE FIRST 3 photos are of blood spatter on the walls and ceiling of the bathroom that were there when we checked in. The next 3 are of the inside and outside of the bathroom door and if they don't find it necessary to wipe those surfaces down, I wouldn't touch the hand rails in the stairwells. The next few photos are of some opaque dried substance on the headboard of the bed. The staff at this property is awful. Especially the self important, condescending, rude, heartless AGM. Take my advice and take your business elsewhere because this place has a different definition of the word "guest". My next move is to call the health department on them. What's worse is I made a complaint to ESA corporate through their website and NEVER got a response. The brand Extended Stay America as a whole is horrible.

What kept them from getting five stars is a bunch of small things like stains on the carpet on the stairs, small tv, and only one night stand between the two beds which makes it inconvenient. It was a very quiet in my room, as I didn't have any noise coming from nearby rooms or the freeway. The pricing wasn't bad, and they had an underground garage and parking in front of the hotel so I didn't have any issues finding a place to leave my ride, and I didn't have any concerns for the safety of my car. The bed was comfortable, and the room clean. It was a little hard to find the actual hotel even though it is right off the freeway. It's tucked just behind the Outback Steakhouse. There are also conveniently located restaurants nearby. An Outback, Bonefish Grill and a diner are all within walking distance. Now let's talk about that hallway carpet. They must have gotten a deal on it because it was horrific! I still can't decide if it looked like strips of bacon or a stream with gold in it which I should go panning for. Either way I was impressed by the sheer hideousness of it.

I feel like I have an apartment with a kitchen, not a hotel room. There is a dining area, multiple tvs, and the desk is large enough for me to work. So grateful. I also LOVE the access to the trail system directly from the hotel, this is so lovely! Strong WiFi in buildings 5-7! There is a lot of random weirdness about. There are random floods/leaks outside- there is one parking spot by my building that is always flooded so nobody parks there. There are also just random mud puddles and holes on the grounds, so I definitely wouldn't bring a kid here. The back lot is also kind of a sketchy gathering place- some stolen cars (recently found by police) and tons of cigarette and marijuana garbage all over. The cops have been here several times during my stay to find stolen cars and arrest people for the distribution of some pretty serious drugs. Avoid staying in buildings 8 or 9 and you should be clear of it. This hotel is VERY smoke friendly. To the point where I feel like they encourage it. The grounds usually smell of smoke and there are always smokers about, including some of the employees. They have smoking stations all over and every picnic table has been taken over by smokers. There are also cigarette butts littered all over the place. If I were staying for a week or so, I probably wouldn't have noticed any of this, but it has become part of the lore I have become apart of in my extended time here.

As a hotel guest, I was gravely disappointed. There were no extra accommodations or amenities. There was not an easily accessible ice machine, you had to go into a restaurant flag down staff and have them fill up your ice bucket; but only available during business hours. Coffee and hot water were only available during a short time period in the morning, outside of that time period you had to go to a restaurant and purchase coffee or tea. The king sized bed room I stayed in had plenty of room to accommodate an in room coffee/ tea bar with hot kettle. On Friday and Saturday nights, be prepared to have non-hotel guests walking throughout the building in order to visit the hidden speakeasy "The Principals Office," which by the way would be a great spot for an ice machine and drinks or snacks for hotel guests. As a woman, staying in a room by myself, it was unnerving having the main doors open to any and all. Additionally, it was sad to see that the hotel market was filled more with knic knacks and McMenimens commercialized products rather than items a hotel guest would need. Would I stay at another McMenimens hotel? Only if it's convenient, sadly I would not go out of my way. The grounds and gardens are beautiful at this location and it is a great stop for wandering around or bar hopping.

One of the reasons we slept so well is because it is so quiet around this hotel. It isn't right off the highway or near a lot of traffic. Right across the street is a Chevron station / mini mart. Aside from maybe the clean carpet, bigger TV, and some light fixtures, I actually liked most things about the older room more. It's like Hilton poured a ton of money into updating the place with cheaper stuff. Older bed was more comfortable, older shower with a door was way better than new shower with a Walmart curtain rod and too short curtain, older AC/heater worked better, older fridge was better, older desk/chair was better, older couch was more comfortable, older TV had better sound. The staff was always really nice except for one person but I think he may have been disabled so gotta give him a break. Parking fees here are killer. Small laundry room given the size of the hotel, plus there were always machines broken. Big gym with decent equipment. Thin walls, you could hear most of what neighbors were saying but muffled. Being on the top floor at least saved hearing footsteps overhead, but the construction in the building would still rattle the walls. Pet friendly for a fee, they were nice enough to discount some fees after I got wrongly charged twice when switching rooms. The dog poop bags were out for almost a month but eventually got restocked. Hardly any grass around the building but a little bit along the busy street. Close to tons of shops, restaurants, groceries, etc. and the freeways. The breakfast options were nothing special but I've had worse. Housekeeping available every couple days or upon request, but they weren't very good about coming at the requested times. Overall the stay was fine despite the gripes. At least I earned a crap ton of Hilton points. Too bad the renovation set things backwards.
