We stayed here for three nights from June 26 to 29 and it was the most stable and comforting stop of our entire road trip. After days of moving around constantly, this was the only place where we had consecutive nights in one room and that made a huge difference. The location is ideal: quiet, walkable, and just steps from the water, restaurants, and small local museums. After spending time in more remote or exclusive areas, Edmonds felt alive and connected. It was the first real city energy we experienced on the trip and being around people again felt surprisingly refreshing. We were assigned the only pet-friendly room, and the first thing that hit us was the smell. It was like Axe spray mixed with something musty and sticky. My sister's friend thought it might have been bleach, but either way it wasn't pleasant. I asked for a religious and cultural accommodation and was given four flat sheets. I used them to cover the floor so my mom and I could eat, sit, and pray without shoes. It gave us a sense of cleanliness and control over the space and after that, the smell faded away. I also lost my key at one point and the staff quickly and kindly replaced it without making a big deal. They were helpful throughout our stay. One day, I saw a photography book in the lobby and asked if I could borrow it. They let me take it back to my room to read while I had tea. That kind of quiet trust really stood out. The windows actually opened here, something none of the other hotels allowed. I turned off the AC, let in the Edmonds air, and finally felt able to breathe. This was a good choice for us, the location, the accommodations, and the service! 5-star service from an affordable hotel! 1. The location: a mere blocks away from Edmonds Harbor. Hotel was conveniently located near restaurants, bars, main roads, and the scenic harbor. Easy to leave your car here in the parking lot and just walk around & sightsee or go out for food. Very easy to find, ample parking, and just minutes away from Seattle, Bothell, and other major destinations. It was quiet here, with pleasant sounds of the ferry horns, train crossings, and seagulls on Lake Washington. Also, if you like to eat or fish or hike, it is close to all of those activities. 2. Service: great service from the front desk, housekeeping, and the free continental breakfast was very good. Nice coffee & tea bar, good hot food such as eggs, potatoes, oatmeal, breakfast burritos, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, and a couple of cereal choices. The dining room is big, and accommodates a lot of hungry travelers, it was always packed with happy diners and families. Decent choice of bagels, toast, muffins, and pastries too. Always freshly stocked, and kept very clean. 3. Housekeeping was very attentive and professional. They were always on-time, and the staff was very flexible with your needs and timing issues. We received fresh linens daily, as well as a clean, well-laid-out hotel room. The staff here were really on top of keeping the hotel clean & running smoothly, as there was always a full house here during our stay. Great service and excellent attention to detail. 4. Amenities: nice swimming pool & hot tub. Guest here also get free passes to the Harbor View Gym & Spa next door, which I fully took advantage of. It was nice to work out for a few hours per day, while my partner opted to stay in and watch TV or rest. Can't say enough about the bonus of using a full-sized gym while traveling to stay in shape, such a pleasure! 5. The room: nice, big comfortable beds with clean sheets & fluffy pillows. Bathroom was big, clean, and well-stocked with shampoo, soaps, and towels. Even the shower had good water flow and a good nozzle height. Big closet full of hangers. They had nice touches like an ironing board, hair dryer, and even an in-room coffeemaker. Windows had blackout curtains and even opened up fully for fresh air. The TV was nice, big, and had a lot of channels to watch movies, sports, and the news. Everything worked, and everything was nice to have during our stay. Great room, albeit pricey. The area was safe, quiet, and convenient for our stay here. The staff were very polite, attentive, and courteous to all of our needs. This hotel was clean, fully-staffed, fully-stocked, and very comfortable. The other travelers were also very pleasant to talk to & interact with. Edmonds is a small, harbor town with a mix of locals and travelers. I loved staying here, and I loved the town. I've only ever stayed at Holiday Inns, but I have to say that after staying at a Best Western, I'm now a fan, especially if this location. The bill was fairly high, but I say worth it for our experience. They have varying rates based on occupancy, day of the week, and season. I suppose that this is standard in the hotel industry. I have stayed here a number of times over the years. I feel like the rooms could use some updating. This last visit we booked the jr suite as we wanted a separate bedroom as we had a toddler and wanted to put her to bed and still stay up without disturbing her. The room was so small. The fridge didn't keep my ice pack frozen and the door to the fridge hit the floor everytime it was opened. The couch was horrible and so uncomfortable to sit on. Very low to the floor and sunken in with very flat cushions. The carpet was old and worn. It felt like we were staying in a low budget motel. There was weird noises outside the window at night like some critters or something out on the side of the building. And the parking is horrible. You have to park on the other side of where your room is unless you get there early. I think next time we come to town we will have to find somewhere else to stay which is sad cuz I love being in Edmonds close to the water. The hotel is Not what it used to be. read more

This is an exceptional Best Western. I recently spent two nights at the Harbor Inn for a conference. From the moment that I walked in (John at the front dest was wonderful) until the moment I left I felt good about my stay. It's a rare hotel in this category that still offers guests breakfasts-- a nice perk to start the day. Sausage, eggs, fried potatoes, pastries, cereal etc. Fresh coffee available in the lobby-- along with cucumber water and hot water for tea, hot chocolate, etc. It's a professional team all the way around-- it's clear that the folks here care about the job they're doing. The prices are a bit over the top for this particular hotel. However the customer service is excellent. The parking is ample. Check in and check out is a piece of cake. They serve a breakfast and if it's not too crowded when you wake up to get some you can enjoy that. The breakfast is not that great as far as quality food. It''s continental with some formed eggs, sausage or bacon, yogurt, and toast. It's just everything tastes a bit fake and rubbery. But, at least they have a breakfast plus coffee, tea, and juices. The beds aren't bad. My bathroom was really small. Which was a wee bit challenging. Overall the rooms are clean, and they ask that you not ask them to clean them for you their attempt to be conserving energy and also some covid protocol thing as well. So I do hope they're cleaning those rooms really well when people leave. The one thing major that I don't like about the restaurant is they have some kind of incense or air freshener or I'm not quite sure what but it smells horrible. So in the hallways it smells like again some type of incense that's just absolutely nauseating. It did not permeate my room thank goodness. But when I'd go out of the hallway it was awful. I would stay here again because it's convenient to the fairies and to anyone who needs easy access to Edmonds and such. read more

A quick walk or drive to the Kingston ferry or deeper into town. Easy to get on the ferry and head to Kingston, Port Gamble, Port Townsend or even the Olympic rainforests (soon) A decent breakfast room with offerings good enough to start your day, quiet area with a whiff of the Salish sea, occasional ferry or train horn or seagulls calling. Nothing over fancy, clean and well maintained. Service was friendly. Safe area surrounding the hotel, for the single traveler. We always recommend this place for family and friends visiting us in Edmonds. Everyone always loves it especially the location - close to downtown and short walk to our boat in the marina. This was our first time staying here ourselves - we had our boat being worked on and needed a place to stay - did not disappoint. Yes the prices are a bit high but it's a great location and it's EDMONDS. Love Edmonds! Here's me: high maintenance in terms of basic amenities. I don't like daily room service but appreciate extra towels etc. This place has EVERYTHING to make an extended stay comfy. If you have an issue with this place - you don't stay at many hotels or get out much. LOL. Room was so clean and spacious. TV had great Channels plus access to your Netflix account. Breakfast was really robust for the price (free!) Hot eggs with fixin's, oatmeal, and yum those biscuits were Delicious! (Only had biscuits one of the days we there - treat! Plus mini fridge and Microwave! In LOVE. :-)) Coffee all day and it's tasty. Staff was amazingly nice and accommodating (we had to shorten our stay and there was no problem with the change). Upon arrival, we walked into a very small outdated suite. I noted it did not appear that anyone vacuumed the floor and there were toenail clippings at the foot of the bed. There was a small stain on the sheet the beds were horrible. The queen bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. The hide-a-bed was hard and squeaky. We also went to the pool during this stay. We were fortunate to have the whole thing to our self but upon leaving we realized all the doors were locked and there were no codes to exit. We tried all the doors with no luck and as I started to panic I managed to knock on the door loud enough to get the front desk attendant's attention. He knew why I was knocking and explained to enter you need to press the handicap button on the door and quickly tug it open. I firmly believe this is a safety issue and a sign should have been posted. I have a child with medical needs and had he been in a crisis and I wasn't able to get someone's attention it could have been a catastrophic ending. I typically believe you get what you pay for but that was not the case here. There are much nicer places nearby for much cheaper. read more

We stayed here for a few nights while we checked out wedding venues around the area and were happy with our stay. It's close to downtown Edmonds so you can easily grab lunch/dinner/coffee, go to the beach or hop on the ferry. Our room was surprisingly big and the front desk staff were friendly, even when they were busy. There was plenty of parking around the back and it's easy to get in and out of. Overall, you are paying for the location and we felt we made the right choice! read more

We had a group of 5 people that were in town for a company retreat, this past weekend. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was incredible! I had the most interaction with Jeff prior to our arrival. He was accommodating and responsive to all of our requests. I was honestly wary of staying at a Best Western but I was so pleasantly surprised. First, the rooms have nice updates -decor, bed sheets, etc - and are very comfy. The bathrooms could use an update which is the only reason I have 4 stars instead of 5 - but they were very clean and we're not oldddd. Next, their complimentary breakfast was surprisingly good. I always have low standards for these but their scrambled eggs were really good and they offered tasty yogurts as well. I was satisfied. And most important was the staff and service. They were great! Super friendly and considerate. I had a 7:30am flight out and had to leave the hotel at 5am. Breakfast is at 6am so I was bummed about missing that. But they had to-go breakfast bags ready with granola bars, a banana, water, and a juice box!! And they brewed coffee! I had never stayed at a hotel that thought of those who have to check out early. Great location near the waterfront walk, and a downhill return from dining in Edmonds. The room was ok. Could've provided more cover on the bed--I had just a thin comforter over the sheets. They should find a different supplier for coffee, or different kind of coffee maker. I can think of a rhyme for the "Wolfgang Puck" flat-disc single cup of coffee, and that rhyme is "YUCK." Like water. I'd have to drink 15 of those to wake up. Get your coffee in the lobby. Biggest complaint, they booked me right under another guest who stomped around (at 11pm and 5am) like it was Riverdance. I mentioned it to the girl at the front desk the first morning, and she said she'd "talk to them." Wrong Answer! They only got stompier. Surely she could've offered to move me to a different room? The hotel definitely wasn't full. Breakfast was pretty good as hotel breakfasts go. There were choices. The toilet paper was the approximate thickness of one atom, but I guess that's standard for hotels everywhere. All COVID concessions manage to redound to the bottom line of the corporation, of course. All in all, my three-day stay was decent. It could and should have been stellar. In response to your reply, to my review of the Harbor Inn Mr. Murray, Yes, you can definitely say our experience was less than stellar, and although we did NOT physically stay at your hotel, your front office clerk, Samantha, charged us, as though we did. We reserved a room with two queen beds for three nights. When we arrived for check-in, Samantha was outside with her dog. She irritatedly made reference, that every time she steps outside, somebody wants to check in. She brought her dog inside, and we were surprised that she then set it on the check-in counter. My husband checked in, and after hauling our suitcases upstairs to the FIRST room, upon entering, an awful smell awaited. We immediately opened the windows and turned the room fan on, hoping it would dissipate. We walked two blocks to the beach, and then quickly returned to the same bad smell. My husband called the front desk immediately, and spoke with Samantha, who said that the hotel was aware of the problem, with this particular room. She mentioned that the room had been a long-term rental, and that the renter had been using a hot plate to cook Asian food in the room. Samantha advised that the hotel had tried, but could not remedy the smell, but mentioned that she had another room to try with a king bed. We hauled our belongings to the SECOND room. Upon entering, we were greeted by a housekeeping staff member, who was already in the room, and on the phone with Samantha, explaining that we could not stay in this room either. There was a substance spilled all over the couch and cushions. We had to set our luggage down and wait to see if there might be a third room to try. We were then told that the third room had a king bed and we were willing to take a look. Again, after hauling our luggage to the THIRD room it was not a room with a king bed, but rather a small queen. As the last resort, Samantha said, she only had one more room, but only for one night, and we needed a room for three nights. My husband immediately asked for a manager, and was told that you were out sick, but would return the next morning. Our original reservation was for a room with two queen beds, for three nights, and your hotel could clearly not accommodate our reservation. After so much inconvenience by your hotel, and no manager to help us, we decided we would go to a hotel that could accommodate our requested reservation. Samantha told us she was going to charge us, even though we DID NOT USE ANY OF THE THREE ROOMS THAT WE STEPPED INTO. My husband got your phone number and email address and called the next morning & left a message. He did not hear from you. What happened to us was egregious, and should never happen to a customer. As a manager, you should have more oversight on what your employees are doing. Just as importantly, it's your responsibility to know the conditions of your rooms, before something like this happens to your unsuspecting customers. read more

Recently stayed for a nice get away for two days Friday- Sunday. Allison at the front desk who was training had a nice smile and helpful attitude as she checked us in. Our room with two queen beds, very clean and mattress and bedding were excellent. Couldn't hear the neighbors next door, outside noise was really only the train passing from time to time or the ferry horn once in the morning. Breakfast was filling, they even had fresh hot waffles along with a host of other hot items. One problem was the prepackaged baked good where dry except for the mini chocolate chip muffins. I'm starting this review before our stay and may update it with more stars, but the reason we chose to stay at this hotel is because it was pet friendly. The service at the front desk was very nice but when we began talking about the policy I was told that we aren't allowed to leave our dog alone even if he's in a kennel. The point of a pet friendly hotel is that we can trust that we can take our dog and still go out to eat without being told we can't leave them alone. I'm very disappointed, but based on the service have a feeling the stay will still be nice. Update: great coffee station, breakfast & free cookies. The room was clean and we had only a couple of loud noises during our stay, but nothing we couldn't sleep through. I talked to the front desk again about the pet policy & the lady said I was lucky it was her, not the other guy because he isn't as nice. This is a clean, comfortable, convenient, moderately priced place to stay if you have business north of Seattle. The rates are about $100-$120/night for a big room with a comfortable king. To give you a sense of how modern the place is for a Best Western, the TVs are plasma. Free Wi-Fi, but a bit slow at times. The exercise room is barely adequate, but you can get a guest pass to a superb athletic club located next door. The breakfast isn't going to send you, but it's better than average for a continental. The staff are professional and responsive. You're a block from waterfront seafood dining with great views of Puget Sound, and within walking distance of Edmonds' charming downtown district. You can take the commuter train into downtown Seattle from the adjacent station. The ferry across the sound to Kingston is two blocks away -- convenient for me, as I have often have meetings on both sides of the Sound when I'm in the area. read more

Super clean, very comfortable, big room, beautifully decorated and located in the most beautiful sleepy little town of Edmonds. Even though the hotel is located next to the Ferry.....we didn't have a problem with noise. If you feel like the noise could be a problem, request a room on the East side . Continental Breakfast is really good. There are all kinds of cookies and bakery goods in @ the lobby with coffee as well. I like The Harbor Inn of Edmonds. It's the perfect distance from Seattle! There are some beautiful little shops in town & several good seafood restaurants. read more

The name is misleading. Harbor Inn etc etc. Kind of funny when you call their recording says they don't have any rooms with a water view. If you're a heavy sleeper this place is great and maybe if you have ear plugs even better.we stayed Memorial Day weekend and the train ran quite often during our stay. I like trains but that was a little much and it was really loud. You get what you pay for. The breakfast was not bad but the place to eat was small. You have to arrive early if you're in a bigger group if you want to eat at a table. Otherwise staff is friendly and the rooms are clean which is the most important. This is a pretty basic Best Western Plus. It's clean and the room I had was large. I stay here because I work in Edmonds sometimes and it's just convenient to the downtown Edmonds area. A couple of things, there is a train that runs next to the property. You will hear this train, sometimes 5 times a night. It is a loud train. I found that I had to turn on the air/heat, I had a sound machine and I listened to a book all night long so that I could sleep. I had only positive experiences with the front desk staff. In fact, the staff and the clean room were the reasons I gave 3 stars. I love my sleep and the train was difficult to move past. read more

Id recommend using the shower mats... since I didn't and slipped and fell on my thigh which resulted in a bruise the size of a football :( Only complaint would be that we spoke to front desk about paying cash upon check out. When we did check out they said there wasn't any notation on our preference and the credit card was already charged. Coffee both in rooms and in the lobby are horrid. Beds are comfy but the trains - OMG, all night long! Difficult to find, and not that close to starbucks and other places downtown, at 10 minute + walk. Fighting the ferry traffic at most every street. Pool and hot tub are outside, and we were so disappointed! Was too cold for the hot tub then having to walk through the lobby to get there. The Harbor Inn has much to recommend it. A Best Western hotel, it is professionally staffed and intelligently managed, located near the AmTrak station, just a short walk from Brackett's Landing and the Kingston-Edmonds Ferry, an easy stroll to Edmonds' Main Street. The rooms we've gotten were spacious, equipped with everything we needed for a 2 or 3-day weekend in Edmonds. The bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was delightful. Prices for the rooms are appropriate to the location and the accommodations. The ONLY reason I've given it three stars instead of four is the noise factor. I'm not referring to the nearby BNSF-AmTrak trains; they're loud but the airhorns are brief and tolerable. Nor am I referring to the ferry's vehicular traffic; you may hear it, but it isn't really objectionable. I am referring to televisions and voices in adjacent rooms that can be clearly heard though the occupants are using conversational tones, to people walking and talking in the hallways, to doors opening and closing. I enjoy my visits to Edmonds, and I'm relatively comfortable at the Harbor Inn, but I've learned to ask specifically for a quiet second-floor room. When I travel, I appreciate everything an Inn like this has to offer but I often need a good night's sleep, and I'm usually willing to pay for accommodations that will provide some peace and quiet. I'm staying in Edmonds? Really? It's not that there's anything wrong with Edmonds, per se, it's just that this sleepy little burg isn't really a destination. Exciting or not, when you have to be in Lynnwood at 6 in the damn morning, Edmonds looks pretty good. I wish I had some zesty things to say about my stay at this Best Western, but it defies any attempt to harness my inner creative muse. It's not bad. Aside from the trains, it's quiet. It's next to the ferry terminal, and you can walk to the main drag for dinner and a beer. The room was immaculate, the wireless was fast, and the service was friendly. The staff is very friendly! Our room was clean,l and enjoyed their breakfast selection. Also the hotel is only a 10 min walk from the downtown area. We will definitely be back read more
