Note only Kirstie, but all of the teachers too are committed to the students and create a very positive learning environment. Finally, the students are wonderful providing positive support to one another and put in a great deal of hard work. As I said before, the studio is truly a gem. Miss April is so creative with providing extra opportunities to dance like fundraisers, summer camps, the Cary Christmas parade, teas, a daddy-daughter dance, etc... Many GE dancers have earned parts in the NC Ballet's Nutcracker productions. Another thing that we really appreciate about Miss April is her noticeable attention to keeping the girls young ladies by not dressing them like tramps when performing. (Just go to the Cary Christmas parade to see!) In addition to a small, quiet waiting room with closed circuit TV to show the children dancing in the main studio, there is a back room in which you can take young children to watch movies or play, and a nice seating area outside. Located in downtown Cary, it is close to parks and the Cary Public Library. Graceful Expressions is a blessing to my family.

After posting my review, 2 of the choreographers made a choice to corner me at rehearsal, and be verbally aggressive in front of MY children and other people's children. When I tried to express why I felt the way I felt, they both kept interrupting me. After that I told them that everything was expressed to the owner and nothing had changed. I then told them that my kids may not be there Saturday and one of the teachers said "Good, period" and snapped his fingers. Acting this way in front of, about, and towards a neurodivergent child in your class is unprofessional. All of this behavior because I stood up for my kids, asked questions to the owner, and didn't receive much feedback or change. Even after this incident I have reached out to the owner multiple times with zero response. A teacher can be "fun" in the face of everyone but if they can't be professional when there are questions or concerns and choose to be verbally aggressive, all of your credibility goes out the window. I dont care how many awards a studio wins, especially if the example they are teaching is that a child's feelings and willingness to be better, does not matter. The group lessons are a great way to meet others interested in ballroom dancing.

Jordan, the owner is outstanding…read more Recently we started with Ashley, because so that I could come for individual lessons with her in addition to our regular lesson. Both these instructors are outstanding and some of the best I have experienced in the last 12 years we have been taking lessons. Ashley is patient, emotionally supportive, and able to break silver level steps into small parts that we eventually put together into whole steps. We have progressed a lot because of this. Plus, there is teaching charm and etiquette so that any woman I dance with has a positive experience not matter what their level of skill. The other dancers there are a friendly group that always welcomes any newcomers. The men dance with all the women, and the women feel comfortable asking men to dance. It's such a pleasant supportive atmosphere, especially in the Friday practice dances. We have tried other dance studios and consider Move with Grace the best.

All that to say I was super intimidated to take the plunge now, in my late 30s. I started with a Saturday afternoon line dancing workshop. I was immediately put at ease by the friendliness and the diversity of ages, sizes, and shapes of people that I found taking the class with me. After my wonderful experience at the workshop, I signed up for beginning modern jazz. Tracey Durbin is an amazing teacher! I was up-front with her about my lack of experience and nervousness. She put me at ease by reminding me that everyone is here to have fun, period. I have now signed up for my second session and I have no plans to stop!
