BEST: The Jewelry selection is different from a lot of jewelry stores around even at Nordstrom or Macys. And I have to admit if it looks good and matches an outfit you have in mind it is worth a buy. Return policy for a full refund within 30 days on the receipt. WORST: Jewelry is VERY Expensive ranging from about $25-$34.00! And the quality is not even that great, but again if it matches your outfit, you really couldn't find this kind of jewelry anywhere. Not even Forever 21, Macys, Nordstrom, etc. Express is one of my least favorite places to shop for clothes because of it's prices. Clothes are so expensive they need to mail out discount cards in order to encourage anyone to buy anything from this store. An example of Express' coupon are $40 of $90 purchase or $50 off $120 purchase because one blouse is like $60.00 +. The clothes are really nothing special either and you can easily find them elsewhere at a much more affordable price. There isn't much in the store in general as it is small - typical of most Express stores. Believe me, if you have gone into an Express, there are hardly any customers inside. Used to love their jeans here. Not anymore. Boot fit is too baggy or too tight depending on the cut. Button up shirts are made of cheap material which fades and gets wrinkled. Prices are a bit over borderline expensive. read more

I like how their dress pants fit and comes in different lengths (for solids only) and patterns. I machine wash mine and machine dry them and still wrinkle free. But their styles are boring. Everytime i walk in , it's like they are selling the same ole stuff. yeah they try to be creative and put sequins and CZ on their shirts and tank tops, but it's still just a tank top! Their sweaters suck. I noticed the ones that are made with silk cashmere, and NOT the real cashmere, it's the cashmere wannabes that always gets the worn look and has those annoying little yarn balls overall. The guys shirts have lots of color, but unless you dry clean them, they look crappy after a few washes. It's most noctible for the black ones. Dressing room is a mess, customer service is pretentious and rude. No smile no thank yous as they ring up sale. The stock clerks are much more helpful and friendly. At least they help me look for items in the back. Won't be shopping here unless I'm desperate for another pair of pants quick. read more

express and i are friends again =) while they haven't drastically expanded their selection of "short" length pants, at least their denim section has ample options and their skirts still fit well despite the longer length. same with tops and sweaters - good fit w/o petite proportions (except for the maxi-length cardis). have stocked up on plenty of work-out shirts when their graphic ts are on sale. and overall, their designers have improved on the selections...thank goodness you can now order online or at least scope out the wares before hitting up the store! once again, i am earning my points and coupons... read more

I honestly think that writing review for clothing stores is pretty pointless. I mainly believe in writing reviews for places that I eat at or services. I just wanted to let everyone know that the marketing team for express is very clever. They give you coupons if you sign up for their credit card that gives you discounts such as "40 off 100" or "25 off 75". However, you can never hit the 100 or 75 dollars because of how their sales are. You end up spending way more than you actually need to in order to use their coupons. I would mainly recommend going to this place when it's your birthday (they give you $10 dollars off anything) and when it's 30% off. The buy 1 get 1 50%off is such a jip. Happy shopping! read more

Great place to find classic pieces--whether it's dressy, classic, or basic, you'll find something here! A bit pricey but a good investment for that special occasion or just because moment in your life! The staff are helpful when you need it and make sure you find exactly what you want! Came here to redeem a birthday gift card, and there was one friendly sales associate. However, one associate (probably the manager), an older Asian man, was quite rude. I finally found a sweater I wanted, yet there was an incorrectly placed price sticker ($10 marked up from the correct price, and ALL the other sweaters were $10 cheaper than this marked up one), and he tried to tell me the price was $10 more! I told him it didn't make sense. So I went to get another sweater with the correct price tag and it rang up $10 less than the incorrect markup. In the end, I was right. He didn't apologize or try to rectify the situation. As I was walking out, I saw him trying to check all the sweaters to see if I was wrong. Poor service! read more

My boyfriend and I came here to look for formal clothes for a special event coming up. I was trying to look for slim fit dress pants for my boyfriend but luckily one of the workers, Miguel, helped us out. He even let my boyfriend try out different dress shirts since he doesn't know his size and what kind of fit is better. He ended up spending more than he was hoping to but it was worth it. This review is based on my most recent experience at the Express Stonestown location. Just this Tuesday evening, around 530pm, my boyfriend and I went into the store to attempt to make a return from an online purchase. We had tried returning via mail, but much to our surprise, the return policy had changed and though the receipt said 90 days, the new timeframe was 60 days. We were just a few days outside of the return window, but Express Online Customer Service would not accept the order, and suggested that we try going in-store for a "courtesy return." As this was a very large order, we were frustrated and worried that we would not get our money back, but the associates in the store were more than helpful and very pleasant throughout the visit. Brandon processed the return quickly and even provided garment bags for the items we decided to keep. It's nice to know that genuine customer service still exists. Thank you guys! read more

So I still shop here for the trendy clothing. I was surprised at the customer service from a ?manager?. The other staff was minding their own business, when a friendly, upbeat, woman came up and was offering her assistance. She totally helped me find my size, took me to the fitting room, and odd enough she finished the transaction. I hope the other staff members see this kind of customer service as an example, because she sure surprised me! If you need help there, look for a Caucasian with short brunette hair. She had glasses on too! Or just look for someone smiling, because everyone else is grumpy folding clothes in a corner... haha. read more

Yes...for the entire Express Fashion Stores in S.F. I am happy to say that this one store out of the only two in S.F. is not only the largest but the best place to ever shop for clothes. Especially if you want clothes for your office job/blind date and go straight to the club dance floor afterwards! I've only shopped at the Express For Men in San Mateo, so I can't comment on this particular location. However, I only buy clothes from Express For Men now - they have the best looking clothes. Way better than Banana Republic, Lucky, Gap, Abercrombie, and Armani Exchange. read more

The majority of the staff at this particular Express are RUDE. The girls are snobby don't even bother to say hello and judge customers based on appearance. The "fancier" you dress the more help you tend to receive. This is exactly what happens every single time I enter the store. I would go to other locations but unfortunately this is the closest one near my home. The staff were very helpful! My friend and I were buying shirts for a wedding and the staff members (Jessie/Alex?)offered to steam them because we didn't have access to an iron. The prices are reasonable for the quality of fabric and style. I'm a millennial male, the designs are not too teen nor too much like my fathers clothing. i used to really like express, years ago. then their clothes started getting worse... more boring. my parents gave me a gift certificate to there the xmas before last and it took me months to find something to buy with it. the express here is better. mainly because sf clothes are better than boston ones are. i had barely any clothes after i moved here, so i went and bought a couple things. my jacket is really cute. still, i dont think that they should be priced as high as they are for what they are. they dont have that original of designs or anything, so why not make it a tiny bit cheaper? id rather go somewhere else. read more
