The backstory: my work family wanted a special retirement gift for our friend who is an avid fisherman. We picked up a nice tackle box but felt it was... lacking something. I had a review done back in 2016 on having a Walgreen's Pill Fob used as a "mini-urn" for a kitty that I had euthanized and cremated. "Kitty" is securely attached to my golf bag handle and accompanies me during play and practice. Recently we lost our "Oreo" and am picking up his urn today. We will have a portion of his ashes place in another pill fob...sealed and sent to my son in WA. I work with the military which means my office is ALWAYS buying gifts for people as they move away. These gifts are typically engraved, so I was really happy when one of my colleagues told me about Express Engraving. We conducted a bit of research and concluded that this shop offers the best prices for what we needed. I have been to other shops, especially on the military bases, that offer engraving services, and they are ridiculously expensive. So this is now my go-to. While we often buy the gifts elsewhere and bring them in to be engraved, Express Engraving actually has a pretty nice selection of gifts to choose from. We've brought in paddles, spears, plaques, and they have engraved them all. They have different fonts to choose from, and they've all looked great. I will not go anywhere else for engraving. The staff here is also really sweet. The gentleman who works the counter is so nice and helpful. He made suggestions for our gifts and they've all turned out great. They also communicate really well with their customers. I was emailed a proof of my order before it was printed, and they called me when it was ready for pickup. We needed to get the Koa Urn for Papi engraved, and we were in a bit of a rush to get this done. I sent an email out over the weekend, and got a reply first thing Monday. His prices were better than the quotes we got from looking around, and he was also recommended by another company/person. We sent the lettering/words we wanted before hand, this does save a lot of time, if any one is complaining about time, do this first. Bryce responded promptly, and his rendering was better than I expected (I am a bit of critique when it comes to printed words). I got the Koa Urn from my friend's shop on Thursday morning, and I dropped it off to Bryce on the way home. Had ordered an award online with a glass insert that unfortunately did not come inscribed due to some sort of mixup. I didnt have time to wait for a new insert to be sent from the company i ordered it from so i took it here with the logo and inscription i wanted. The next morning they had emailed me the proof to review and approve and my item was ready for pickup just two days later. The gentleman at the counter who helped me was very polite and i was really impressed by their quick turnaround. It cost $35 for the engraving. Not sure if they do as a flat rate on all inscriptions. I already had my logo and inscription design in vector format so i'm not sure if they charge for artwork assistance if you do not have a specific design in mind.
