It can be challenging in Hawaii to find a print shop that can handle a last-minute one-off project, and even harder to find one that delivers truly exceptional custom work. That's exactly why I was so impressed with Blank Canvas Print Shop. I walked in with my T-shirt idea, and Caleb quickly put together a mock-up that exceeded my expectations. Not only was the design exactly what I envisioned, but the entire project was completed with a one-day turnaround as requested. The service was professional, efficient, and the final product was outstanding. I can't thank Caleb, Amanda and the team enough for making it happen. I highly recommend Blank Canvas Print Shop to anyone looking for quality custom printing and exceptional customer service. read more

My initial experience with Caleb, one of the owners, was positive. He was courteous and professional when I first placed my orders. Unfortunately, that professionalism did not continue once problems began. I spent well over $400 with this business, and there were repeated issues with my orders. First, the sizing was incorrect and had to be corrected. More importantly, I experienced ongoing problems with the quality of the printing. Designs began peeling off the garments despite my following the care and washing instructions exactly as directed. This happened three separate times, requiring me to ask that the items be redone. What I found completely unacceptable was Caleb telling me that my complaints were "becoming a pattern." Yes, there was a pattern--the printing repeatedly failed. A customer should not be made to feel as though they are the problem for reporting the same quality defect when it continues to happen. If a design repeatedly peels off after proper care and washing, that points to an issue with the printing, application, materials, or production process--not automatically to customer misuse. Attempting to turn repeated product failures into a criticism of the customer was extremely unprofessional. Caleb ultimately chose to refer me to other businesses. That is his decision, but after spending more than $400 and dealing with repeated quality problems, I find the way this situation was handled unacceptable. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this company. The print durability was disappointing, but the attitude I received after raising legitimate concerns was even more disappointing. When a business receives repeated complaints about the same issue, the appropriate response is to investigate the quality problem--not accuse the paying customer of being "a pattern." read more

Communication and service was outstanding! I contacted Blank Canvas to do a small order (6 shirts) of printing. Printing was done on an Alo shirt so I was a bit skeptical since you would traditionally print on a cotton blend. I waited 7+ washes to make this review and thus far the logo printed on the shirt looks just as good as when I picked it up. Highly recommended local business. Great value and pricing. read more

We had a last minute rush order, scrambled around asking anyone if they knew a place that could print shirts because my shirt order was arriving late. Thankfully a friend at work told me about this place. I am so grateful to everyone who helped make it happen. Holden at Blank Canvas was very great to work with. Unfortunately, due to my short notice I wasn't able to complete my order through them. However, Holden made the process very easy. He explained what process would work better with specific materials and was very patient with me as I had no idea what to expect lol. If I didn't procrastinate so much on this project I would've loved to work with them to completion. There was also a sweet lady there when I walked in but I didn't get her name. She was very helpful as well!! Best part is they have samples and you're able to feel the shirts so you know exactly what you're working with, Prices are very reasonable as well. read more

A huge mahalo to Caleb and the hardworking team at Blank Canvas! I've been collaborating with them for the past two years on a variety of merch and logo projects, and I couldn't be more impressed. Their communication is top-notch, and they offer an incredible selection of high-quality products to choose from. The prices are super affordable and competitive--why go online when you can support local? I love walking into their creative space and sharing my ideas for merchandise or printing. If I could give this company 10 stars I would: Back in October of 2017, this company did an awesome job making shirts for my son's First birthday party. Fast forward to January 2023 and I contacted them to do some shirts for my father's celebration of life. Short back story: We tried to go through a friend of a family member. They consistently made no communication with us, except when they needed their money, got our shirts 7 days after the deadline and it was completely botched! There were ironed on seams all over the place, the placements of the fonts were crooked, and the back image of Chinamans Hat looked burnt on! In a last minute rush, I emailed Blank Canvas to do our shirts. Unfortunately because of the time constraint there was no room for editing or modifying but those communicating with me assured me that they would never put out a product that would make a client unhappy...and Happy was I ever!! I have to thank everyone at Blank Canvas, and give a great big thanks especially to Holden, who was so patient, understanding, and extremely helpful with my situation. The shirts came out great, everyone was happy, and most importantly we had something to wear for my daddy's celebration of life. Blank Canvas is the type of business I will always recommend. They are professional, reasonably priced, gave great communication, and were super, super helpful!! I found this place a few years ago on yelp. I wanted to make my dad a personalized shirt with a picture of my mother and father's wedding picture. I have been back several times and the staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable and they give suggestions when I'm in doubt. They have a wide range of men and women's shirts in different colors and fabrics. Turn around is quick and they are conveniently located in Downtown near my workplace. Hawai'i was recently almost hit by a category one hurricane named Douglas. My husband's name is Douglas! He commented it would be nice to get a shirt that stated "I survived Hurricane Douglas 2020". As his 60th bday is next month, I immediately contacted Blank Canvas and inquired if they would be able to personalize a T-shirt for him. Caleb responded quickly to my email and we begin discussing the possibility of personalizing the T-shirt. I sent him an image and told him what I wanted he did some editing got back to me very quickly with an image that was perfect. It's been a couple years since I last visited Blank Canvas (and apparently they moved across the street in that time!), but I've had wonderful experiences every time. I have two shirts printed with stock images from their binders. The hot-press transfers have held up beautifully through washing and drying, and the shirts themselves have kept their shape with minimal pilling. I chose a shirt, picked an image from hundreds, and even had a little control in where exactly on the shirt the image was placed - the staff that worked with me were knowledgeable about what would look good with a large image on a v-neck. Very pleased with my purchases. More recently, however, I wanted a shirt for my 5yo for his upcoming birthday party. I couldn't find anything that was right on etsy. I checked a couple websites that do no-minimum screen printing, and YOWZA were they spendy! Then, as I was pulling one of my own Blank Canvas shirts out of the closet, it dawned on me - duh, they do custom one-off printing, too! Fired off a quick email to them, and within a week, my shirt was ready for pickup - and didn't cost a gazillion dollars, either. A youth size cotton t-shirt with single-color image was $18+tax. Not bad at all! The staff I corresponded with (Holden) was super friendly and helpful. I provided him the image I designed in Photoshop, gave him a swatch of color I wanted printed, and was flexible on shirt color. They could make any of my options happen, in a youth size. Pickup took all of about three minutes - so easy. Parking is tough, but I recommend the inexpensive Chinatown Municipal Garages on Bethel past Hotel or Smith/Beretania. Marks Garage is another convenient option. read more

I love Blank Canvas located on Bethel Street, across JJ Dolan ! These guys have been working with me as one of my sponsors for my event Miss Vamp Hawaii Beauty Pageant which I ran for 6 years. They screen printed beautiful T-shirts that have lasted for years. I still wear them like they were brand new. More recently I needed to get 15 tote bags for a very important birthday party and I needed them as soon as possible by the end of the week. Blank Canvas was there for me again. Caleb is the man! He always knows how to make customers feel so important. I didn't even have to look for blank tote bags either. They have them there and they were even the best quality, best durable material and best price. He told me he would screen print my design by the end of the week. Then he surprised me the next day and told me they were already finished. When I saw the bags, I love how they turned out, very impressive peacock colors that were vibrant and beautiful. The birthday girl loved them too and so did the guests. Top quality, fast, reliable, convenient parking and the best service ! Come check them out and support local business ! I'm "blank" when it comes to t-shirt printing...I've never ordered custom shirts before, so it was a learning experience. The last time I made a custom shirt was the printer type...the kine you iron on to the t-shirt. I initially emailed Blank Canvas (BC) with my initial inquiry. Just as Steph C. writes, Holden was very responsive and helpful when helping me with my questions. Since they were close to my office, I also decided to drop by. Caleb was also super helpful. They're located across from JJ Dolan's on Bethel street. At the shop they have a variety of samples that you can check out. It was helpful to know what shirts, caps, sweaters and jackets were possible. After receiving my order, I was extremely satisfied. The quality was 100%. I would be sure to order from BC in the future. Whether you're printing shirts for a club, company or for a family trip, I highly recommend Blank Canvas! read more

Thanks to Daniel and his crew at Blank Canvas that worked on making our t-shirts. Everything came out perfect and much sooner than expected which was a great relief to me as this project I needed the shirts for was coming up fast. I was especially pleased with the fact that they were able to match the exact t-shirt from the sample I provided so that there was no variance at all. The communication and professionalism was just what I like when doing business and much appreciated. My corporate office even gave the thumbs up on the work done once they saw the pictures I submitted of the completed shirts. One tip I have for anyone planning to go there, the easiest parking is located beneath the Smith and Beretania Park & Playground, this municipal parking is very safe and clean as well as very cheap to park at. Super late review but I definitely wanted to give mad props to this awesome business that I Was looking for a place that made custom T-shirt's and after calling a few places and checking out their websites I stumbled upon Blank Canvas on Yelp. I read their reviews and was impressed by their work. I was in a bit of a time crunch because the guy that was initially going to make them obviously was too busy to text me back. I needed to make some Memorial custom shirts for a good friend that had just passed away. I called Blank Canvas and talked to Holden with what I wanted. Went down to there shop and told him more about the design that I wanted. He was able to put it together in no time at all. I also had custom stickers done in Memorial of our dear friend. Professional and best quality that I have come across. Mahalo Holden for helping me take the stress off my back! Will definitely bring my business here when I need anything custom done. Side note: business is located in Chinatown area so you know parking is a bit difficult. Their is a small parking area next to the building so if you want to park here I'd say go when it's less busy or find another public parking area and walk. Super reasonably priced and so easy to work with. Have ordered two separate shirts for friends who were leaving the island. Sent in the image to be printed. They even work with you to help add stuff to the image. If you don't get anything too fancy it's approximately $20 for a t shirt and it's done so quickly if you get the digital print. The quality of the T-shirts are really nice and the fit is also good, not too loose. And when there was an error on one of my prints they fixed it immediately. Customer service is great and even during the pandemic, they're working hard. I really like this business and will keep them in mind when I want to order some graphic t's for myself. read more

Yaaaaaaas. Blank Canvas made me t-shirts for work and I've always been curious about the process. So when we decided to run for President in 2020, we knew where to start the campaign. I emailed them with my concept and some examples, and Caleb responded the next day with some questions and made me a graphic super fast, right on point! We discussed shirts and options and he suggested I come to the shop to decide. Everyone on the shop was super cool. LOTS OF SHIRTS TO CHOOSE FROM - like cooler thinner shirts, heavyweight T-shirts, ladies deep sexy v necks, toddler onsies, cups, bags... The prices are ASTONISHING for a custom item. Like damn. Big orders, small orders, one off t-shirts cause I forgot someone - they do them all at an email and super fast! They ask how big or small you want the print, and make sure it's what you imagined. 53 emails in our thread, 1 month of back and forth, and they never once got mad at me for trying to make sure our campaign shirts came our perfect, and within budget. Thank you Caleb and Alden! The shirts were a hit, my BF has worn and washed his several times and the large block of print has only gotten softer, not faded, not cracked - I'm amazed and it was still cheaper and higher quality than buying a crappy t-shirt at the mall. I'm gonna be back for new designs I hope you all are ready to make a heckin lot of cat stuff. read more

So my anniversary was coming up, and I came up with the genius idea to give my boyfriend a couple of custom made shirts with my face on it. I don't want him wearing any shirts with a sexy girl on it, so I decided it should be me instead. I ended up making two shirts, 1.) My beautiful face and on it says, I love my amazing girlfriend... you're too close 2.) Me on the laying on the beach (trying to be a model lol) I didn't get the name of the guy that helped me, but he gave great customer service, and was really professional. I asked if he could add a knife on the first shirt so that it looked like I was holding it, and he said yes.... which made me happy, but I thought that would be a little too psycho. Maybe I'll do that next time lol. The shirts ended up looking great, and I'm beyond happy the way they turned out. I highly recommend this business, and I'll definitely come back when I need to make more shirts. :) **There is street parking, but if you can't find a spot, there is a parking lot on the left side right after you pass the store ** read more

Blank Canvas is located in downtown Honolulu near the Hawaii Theater that allows you to make customized shirts of your choice. They have binders of designs available for you to choose from as well as welcome designs that you create on your own. The service here is great! My family and I had a trip planned to Disney World/ Universal Studios. Being the genius procrastinator that I am, I decided it would be great for my family to rock matching shirts on our vacation. I emailed Blank Canvas to inquire about the process. Within a day, Caleb of Blank Canvas emailed back to assist me through the process. He answered all of my questions (there was a lot!) all in a timely and professional manner. He explained how the process would work and broke down prices for me including offering me to bring in my own shirts. I decided to try to lessen the cost (since the trip was running me broke) and brought in my own t shirts. Caleb worked with my design idea and made it come to life. I brought my shirts in on the 4th and asked for the shirts to be completed by the 13th. The shirts were ready for pickup by January 6th! I loved our design and felt it really popped while we were at Disney World. I even joked that we should have ordered a shirt for every day of our adventure! Ever see someone wearing the same t-shirt at an event and awkwardly trying to avoid standing near eachother for fear of looking like bobbsey twins. Fashion nightmare! Avoid all that and pick up some serious swagger at this new D-I-Y t-shirt shop with tons of designs to choose from. I've seen this concept in other cities, but haven't seen this in Hawaii. BC has several brands of apparel to choose from and hundreds of designs in binders to pick from. I really like having original t's and tanks and the local Hawaii designs really appeal to me. I was strolling around downtown on my lunch break and was looking for a cool gift for my friend and this new shop caught my eye. This is a great personalized gift and it's reasonable in price. The new shop is right next to a downtown anchor, JJ Dolans. Everyone knows where that is! Here's how it works: You pick out a shirt or cap that you would like to print on, pull up a stool and then let your imagination go wild with all the design options as you peruse through the design books. The apparel is reasonably priced between 15 - 25+ bucks and then you pay about 5+ bucks for each design depending on the size. Tell them how you'd like the design(s) placed and sit back for 5 minutes, enjoy the music or chat with the staff while they print your shirt. Voila! New clothes you are dying to wear! Check it out and support a locally owned shop. Best part is having a custom shirt you won't find anywhere else. This is your fashion nightmare savior! read more

Actually came here by mistake. Accompanying my friend on his Mojo Barbershop experience after growing his beard for a month during The Manifest's "Man Challenge" raising funds/awareness for testicular cancer, I had time to kill in the area and easily spent it all here. I heard about Blank Canvas, but it kept escaping my mind. So glad I finally took the right turn here. Shop is cool with an array of American Apparel and Alternative Earth blank t-shirts you can buy by itself or with a design of choice (+$10) via their extensive template binders. The hardest part was making a decision and it proved a lengthy process for me. I ended up purchasing a stellar v-neck for myself and an Elmo shirt as a X-mas gift for my niece, complete with her name customized on it. The Elmo shirt proved to be a challenge as the design I chose ended up being defective after staff tried transferring the image twice! I just felt bad that two beautiful purple shirts (my niece's favorite color) got trashed. They made great lemonade out of this unfortunate occurrence and provided me with acceptable alternatives that ended up nicely. They even came to JJ Dolan's notifying me that my shirt was finally ready. I wasn't in any rush, as it gave me the luxury of having a beer while I waited. Wonderful thing is that The Manifest "Man Challenge" was the reason I ran into this shop; then had a martini at Bambu Two; then had beer and pizza at JJ Dolans. If it weren't for me accompanying my friend getting a shave at Mojo, all of this wouldn't have happened. A great example of paying it forward and supporting local. How one good cause had a positive ripple effect to surrounding local businesses. Now that's the spirit of Christmas. read more
