There was a bit of an issue in terms of the timeline and communication at first as my knife took longer than expected however, it was resolved and I would say customer service was great and I feel confident that I will recommend him and his work after picking up my knife last week. For context, it's the first chefs knife that I ever made so she's not sleek with machinery-grade perfection and I had the knife in storage for a while when I was travelling and also moving so there was quite a bit of wear, tear, and rust. When I unwrapped the knife, I was so happy with the results. He really put work and love into what he does and it shows. Fight the urge to run your thumb across the blade - I looked and my thoughts wanted to but I decided...let's cut up some chicken instead and it slices like a hot knife through cold butter. While they were more expensive than what I expected to pay, I was really impressed with how cool the knives looked with their colored bicycle grips, so I took a chance and ordered an 8" utility knife. Once I got it, I knew I had made a great choice. The knife was very sharp (and still is) and most tasks started taking less time. The knife is very easy to grip and gets it right the first time. I've since ordered a 10" for myself and another as a gift. These are great knives. If you're serious (or just semi-serious) about cooking, you need the right tools and nothing is more important than a good knife. Spending a bit more here is rewarded nicely.

The owner is a professionally trained chef (read about her on the store website), and the stock here is all practical, high quality, at a variety of price points, and sometimes just fun. 2. The customer service is fantastic. The people who work here are all experienced in the kitchen and they have good insights into how to select and use what they sell. You can have a long, discursive conversation about the merits of one $5 item compared to another. I have found them to be exceptional also at recommending gifts. 3. You can hold things and see them in person, as opposed to relying on marketing writing and often fake online reviews. 4. The vibe here is a delight. It is clean and organized, easy to find things. Back to customer service, the people here are fun to be around. For example, I was once trying to choose between thermometers, and the person helping me matter-of-factly mentioned that the one I was looking at came in either red or black. I choose red, and she lit up and said "Yay!!!" and clapped her hands. So funny..... Anyway, this is a great place, and I value all that they bring to this store.
