My husband and I had a couple of expensive knives that we had purchased many years ago as well as a couple of other "not so expensive" knives that were all in dire need of sharpening. After looking on the internet, I came across this place and without even checking out their webpage, I called and set up a time to drop off our knives. Turns out, this is the one-man operation of a college student at the University of Arizona who took up cooking and learning how to sharpen utensils during Covid. Anyway - his name is Nick and besides being such a nice human-being, he was able to get our knives sharpened in one day and even brought them out to my car when I went by to pick them up. As far as his charges go - they seemed extremely reasonable to me but since I've never had any knives sharpened before I don't know how his rates compare to others. Regarding the quality of his work - both my husband and I are very happy with it. All the knives are so much sharper and are cutting things so much easier and better now. Why we hadn't had them sharpened before now - I'm not sure of the reason other than their becoming dull doesn't happen over night. I was trying to break down a whole chicken and noticed it took a considerable amount of effort to do so. It was time to have a professional take care of my knives. New England Sharpening Inc was a bit difficult to find at first as I turned too soon. Once I found the building, there was hardly any parking! I showed up late but the door was still open so I scurried in and asked the guy behind the desk if he had time for one more knife. He agreed to sharpen my cook's knife and was done in a few minutes. My knife cuts like it was brand new now! Prices were rather reasonable. I paid $3 which is much less than what I was used to paying at my usual spot back in California. In addition to knives, these guys sharpen chain saws, shears, woodworking tools, and a whole bunch of miscellaneous items. I may come back at some point to have my swiss army knives and emergency knives sharpened as well.

We arranged a date, and he brought his van to my neighborhood for a Knife and Tool Party. I'm still getting thank-you notes from my grateful neighbors. He takes your knives, and texts you when they're done. My high-carbon Sabatier and Henckel knives are beautifully sharp, as is my lawnmower. We'll be calling him back every year, I think. If you've got a place for him to park his van, I encourage you to have a sharpening party in your neighborhood. Bobby's a super professional and friendly guy, and his wife is beyond sweet. I know that there was a knife sharpener at the winter farmer's market at Russell's, but then again... maybe not. Google to the rescue! Mr. sharp is so convenient and did such a great job on 13 knives I brought to him plus a hedge clipper! Be careful though! They are sharp, and I cut myself (nothing fatal) almost immediately.
