I booked an appointment with Scott/A cut above and the windows/times were very flexible. It was nice to have very specific directions for drop off/pick up. There was a bit of an issue in terms of the timeline and communication at first as my knife took longer than expected however, it was resolved and I would say customer service was great and I feel confident that I will recommend him and his work after picking up my knife last week. For context, it's the first chefs knife that I ever made so she's not sleek with machinery-grade perfection and I had the knife in storage for a while when I was travelling and also moving so there was quite a bit of wear, tear, and rust. When I unwrapped the knife, I was so happy with the results. He really put work and love into what he does and it shows. Fight the urge to run your thumb across the blade - I looked and my thoughts wanted to but I decided...let's cut up some chicken instead and it slices like a hot knife through cold butter. Great work.

Why bother with the middle man and pay more $$? I called Siraco, spoke to a really nice guy called Dom who as it happened was in Davis sq. as he was near where I live offered to come around to pick up the scissors and delivered them 2 hours later, sharpened like new! $10 - usually when I get them done it's around $20 as they're serrated hair-cutting scissors. Once I got it, I knew I had made a great choice. The knife was very sharp (and still is) and most tasks started taking less time. The knife is very easy to grip and gets it right the first time. I've since ordered a 10" for myself and another as a gift. These are great knives.
