I absolutely love hanging out at Express Cafe Shop. The quality of their drinks and food is top-notch, and the service always makes me feel right at home. hi glad I find new favorite spots

The baristas at this coffee shop are so sweet, warm and friendly. I moved to Glendale recently and have made this my coffee shop when I want to treat myself. I always forget to bring cash to tip them tho. The registers really need to be equipped with the option to tip. Please please please change this. The food and coffee is delicious but sometimes if I drive by and don't have cash I don't stop in because I want to reward their amazing service.

Interior facing out towards Glendale Ave. They also have a patio area outside too.

I'm so excited to be writing this review for a number of reasons! 1. We had a fabulous time & can't wait to share with others 2. I found a place I want to go weekly 3. I realized that I was an old customer of theirs Ok, let's begin. Express Coffee is a cute, modern cafe. I had driven by last week and thought to myself I really need to stop here one of these days. And that day was today. My hubs and our daughter were wanting to get out for some coffee this morning and by the time we decided where to go we were hungry! We walked in and were greeted by a handsome young man. He was patient as I looked at the awesome photos they had of their delicious selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I mention that because they're open until 10 PM. And the reason I know that is because we enjoyed it so much and plan to come back. We decided to have two Armenian coffees (always excited when a place serves it). Sometimes it's nice to have that as an option when you go out rather than making it at home. We also got a chocolate chip cookie for our daughter. And the hubs ordered a croissant egg sandwich and added cheese. I had the club sandwich and it was fabulous. It comes with this awesome dressing in the side as well, it was phenomenal. I'm posting pics once I'm done typing too but they may not do it justice. They also have pastries like cakes and croissants and cookies. Hot and cold drinks including coffee, tea and non coffee drinks. Ok, they don't have ten baristas working at the same time but I saw 2 or 3 people and for a quaint and private place like this I think it's good enough. I would say it was semi busy and we still got our items in a pretty timely manner. I'm only even mentioning this because I read some reviews that were complaining but I didn't get that too slow vibe. I forgot to mention I think they might have an electronic hookah and were planning on going back one evening to try that out. We have regular hookah typically so I'm curious how the electronic one is. And then I can update more info here because no one was smoking hookah or anything for the morning time when we were visiting today. While I was there I realized this is the same place I used to come to. I remembered the place and the name and when I asked the barista he said yes it been here about thirty years. What an awesome accomplishment. I had moved away for the last ten years but now that I'm back in my hometown I will definitely be supporting this local coffee shop.

This place is very cozy. They have indoor and outdoor . Their affagato is one of the best I've ever had. And they have many drink options and also have snacking options

This place has wonderful service, great food choices, and the drinks taste wonderful i highly recommend to place this coffee shop on you top list to visit. They even gave free parking, close to everything, and its clean place overall.

Stopped by because we were in desperate need of caffeine and I found this place on Yelp. The inside has a tropical Brazilian vibe that was cute. I tried the iced Nutella latte and my sister got the vanilla soy iced latte. We are both exceptionally surprised at the quality and taste of the latte. They were very tasty and you could definitely taste the coffee. I would definitely recommend giving them a try when you're in the area!

Coffee Express has very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing pastries! They also have a lovely and comfy interior. I popped in here to get a cappuccino and a pastry and was happy to find this sweet and friendly little place. I'm getting to know the Glendale area, and the more I know it, the more I like it. Coffee Express is a gem!

Stopped by while in the area to get their delicious cold brew. It's amazing. If you are in the area give it a try. They offer sandwiches , salads and more. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly lady who was helping other customers, once she was done she quickly poured my coffee and asked if I want anything added to the cold brew. Now that's the kind of service I love to see. It just makes your day when the service is happy and friendly.

Love the coffee here and pastries . Always good service with smile and care I stop by here once or twice a week mid day to get my caffeine dose and will keep doing so

They recently renovated this place and it is super cute on the inside. They have been here for 30 years but the new renovation make it feel like it just opened yesterday. The service is great. I got the matcha latte and it was nice and hot. It came sweet, but I would order it again. I will definitely be back here. They also have wifi. My only complaint is the guy smoking outside right where there is a no smoking sign. That ruins the whole vibe of the place on the inside and makes me feel like I am sitting in a nice Las Vegas casino.

The Black Cow Cafe has been part of my life since my college years, so when I came here now, it was always filled with nostalgia and a slowed pace over a calming meal. Opened in 1994 by a father and son, they embodied the community's "Main Street USA" vibe with a neighborhood diner where everyone knew each other, and you were served a soothing homemade meal during breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Did this cafe leave me with warm memories of the past, or did I cower from time's inevitable changes!? PURCHASE(S) Green Milan 16floz Drink ($7.95): My body needed something "green" and this sounded interesting. I thought it would be one of those health smoothies back in the 80s, but instead a frothy hazy light drink with a light grassy aroma and a middling leafy flavor. I didn't dislike it, but I wouldn't order it again. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=Uo_FrA9ezkxhIn4VnwEVtQ Vegetarian Omelette w/Country Potatoes & Sourdough Toast ($18.95): Made with avocado, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, Ortega chiles, pico de gallo, salsa ranchera, spinach, and topped with sour cream, an omelette was also on my eating bingo card. This smallish portion on the healthier side was packed with fresh goodness and fluffy eggs. The country potatoes were plentiful, nicely seasoned, but lacked the outer crisp I liked. The large sourdough toast with creamy butter and preserves rounded out the meal well. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=vDf51dNgOCoyIaPX_AOvrw Fish & Chips w/Coleslaw & Muffin ($17.95): Made with tempura fried Icelandic cod served with jalapeno tartar sauce, and Hawaiian coleslaw, the three fish pieces were crunchy, hot, and thick but needed more seasoning so the tarter sauce came in handy (no vinegar!). The coleslaw lacked much flavor and moisture, and the muffin was moist and warm. This one could've been better. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=dsLbeFauDvvnvXiA6IZhBA [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Substitute Onion Rings ($3.95): I replaced the french fries with these, a good side portion with many rings of different sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) pulled out at times. Everything arrived within ten minutes, and we were checked on periodically. All was good - thank you! PARKING (Varied: FREE this instance): I found a spot in the large public lot directly above the restaurant off of Florencita Dr. Otherwise, there were metered spots along the main drag of Honolulu Ave. and all surrounding side streets- 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A packed layout filled with tables inside and along the front sidewalk, the decor was as if grandmothers united and gave it a country farm house appeal https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=HWq31BkepPCR8uWcUf4Gtw with odds-and-ends and knickknacks. A minimal amount of natural lighting came in through the front glass windows and doors while a mix of recessed and track electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs nor could I recall any background music over all of the loud conversations. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to revisit The Black Cow Cafe, and hoped to return soon. The menu was packed, the food was good, the prices were comparable, and the service was busy but manageable. Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $69.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

We finally had the opportunity to go there for lunch yesterday and it was indeed fantastic! Such a lovely little place!! The inside would be nice for a cozy dinner but since we were there for lunch we chose to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and people watch. (Great location for people watching!) The food and service were both great. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap and my husband had the LA Cheesesteak Sandwich. Both were delicious. The wrap was different because it was made with balsamic dressing rather than ranch and had croutons inside which gave it a crunch. The cheesesteak sandwich had nice flavor kick to it. (My husband had the steak and mushroom penne, friends had the Chimchurri steak and the wedge salad) The negatives: I had the shrimp risotto and found it blah. The serving was very small - i feel like American portions are often obscenely large (and don't like that), but this was much smaller than average and I was still hungry after eating it. The flavor was ok, but nothing to write home about. And the shrimp were very small - what my husband and I call "bait" shrimp. Not the large shrimp you usually get at a nice restaurant. Since i was still hungry, I ordered a cobbler. It was fine, but not great. Texture was a bit strange - not traditional. Probably won't come back. The food is just not that interesting. It's like the kind of food you'd eat at a Midwestern buffet restaurant.

We didn't have to wait, got a nice booth, and were able to watch the football game, which made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable -- perfect for a Sunday night. We thought he was a new employee because he had no clue what he was doing. He had NO personality no interest in general. When he first came to our table he didn't say hello or offer us appetizers or a cocktail. He asked for our dinner order. We ordered the fajita quesadilla and a combo plate. Daniel brought me the wrong taco; the taco was mostly lettuce and cheese very little meat ~ I was surprised because when I ordered this in the past it was excellent and done right (Not his fault tho he did write down my taco order incorrectly). He never came back to our table to check on us. When we were done we asked for a box because we had a lot of food left. He looked at it and brought us a tiny box. What was he thinking?? We asked the bus boy for another and he brought us the correct size. It was hard to get Daniels attention; we tried a few times to flag him down but he wasn't looking at us. We watched him a few different times throughout our time there, to see how he was with the other tables. We came to the conclusion that he looked like a fish out of water. Maybe he was overwhelmed even though the restaurant was a little more than half full last night at 5:30. Then he brought us our check while we were still eating! I told him I wanted to order dessert. Again, he had no clue what he was doing. I suggest the management take a look at this review and address this issue with him. Our experiences here have always been great, been coming for years.
