I am sincerely blessed to witness the birth and success of Exposure therapy in my neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant. I will always fondly remember Halloween 2022 where they screened Psycho on 35mm film next door to where I used to live (near the old Renegade Arts). They have printed photos for me at least 6 times, sometimes rush and sometimes regular, and everything has always been done quickly and on point. The one time I had issues with my order, I spoke with the manager and he offered me really great customer service in response which I was sincerely surprised and delighted about. I also recently purchased several disposable cameras here for my wedding reception and the prints all came out great. After trying many, many film spots in Manhattan and Brooklyn, I AM SO LOYAL TO THIS PLACE - AND WITH GOOD REASON. I go regularly to develop my disposable camera film, and the photos (scans and prints) come out beautifully high in quality every single time. The service is so, so good; the staff goes above and beyond - makes recommendations if you need them, are chill and kind, and work hard to get your order right with a super quick turnaround for a great price - much lower than I have ever found the prices to be anywhere in Manhattan especially. Despite the store being physically small in size, they also have great selection of cameras (HUGE variety) and film for sale in the store and sell disposable cameras at a better price than I have found anywhere online or in another store. Starting with the positive: Caleb and Drew have done a great job with their store - especially keeping prices affordable - and seem to genuinely love their craft. That being said, it's genuinely disappointing to encounter continued rudeness from one of their staff members. I brought in a roll of film that a different lab had already rejected to develop since it was wet (dropped my camera in the Narrows at Zion). The people working here were unfazed and I got my film developed perfectly. Nothing more I could ask for and I'll definitely be coming back with more film. read more

Exposure Therapy is the downright nicest photo lab in Brooklyn. The prices are great, and the results are never less than stellar. I had the worst experience at Exposure Therapy Photo Lab on 615 Marcy Avenue in Brooklyn and every time I try post a negative review that is true to my experience the company has tried to falsify claims that is contrary to my recorded footage of the incident or flag my comment rendering it invisible. If you are a photo-based artist and serious about your practice, I do not recommend this lab. The lab proffers terrible customer service and false, deceptive and misleading advertising. The latency between the turnaround time sold to you upon purchase (advertised on their counter and storefront) and the actual time of delivery is unparalleled. I was sold a 2-3 day (weekends included) turn around time for their highest quality of processing and scanning upon my purchase on August 25, 2022 . My images took over 4 days to process and on the 5th day, August 30, 2022, my negatives still were not put into queue for scanning. I requested a refund and was attacked with a load of insults from their representative Drew Alder and told to "write a f**king essay" as a review by a female employee on site as if to say that they could care less about my frustration. I was refunded only after turning my camera on and making everyone's actions and behavior visible. In the end, I was fortunate to get a hold of my processed negatives. However, they displayed chemical spill (which I taught was weird). My footage was damaged and thus unrecoverable. When demanding accountability, I was labeled a racist stereotype (the angry black woman) and gaslighted in order to justify abuse, misleading practice and terrible customer service. read more
