This place is exactly what's wrong with many collecting hobbies. Yea, the selection here is pretty…read moregood. That's mostly because the prices are terrible--worse than eBay and Facebook marketplace scalpers. Case in point: there's a pokemon illustrated set that just came out. It's $17. You can still get lucky at retailers and it'll be restocked. Here, just 2 days after launch, they're selling for $50. Just nuts. I guess it's clear this isn't a "card shop," it's a scalpers storefront. Don't go here looking for Lorcana--guessing the margins are too low. Except for their singles, which they sell for $2-4....crazy pricing for Lorcana. Anyways, i won't be back. Will have to continue my search for a card shop that's ethical and somewhat reasonable. --------- Edit in response to business reply: 1) i agree conversation could go a long way. But when your pricing on a brand new Pokémon set (which doesn't have a set market yet) is already 3x MSRP, what productive conversation can happen? It's just a straight up gouge. I'm not naive to expect to get everything at MSRP, but i think 3x markup 2 days post launch is unreasonable. 2) i did ask about Lorcana. I was told you "don't carry much" and "didn't have any right now." 3) you seem to be implying that you're aware prices are high and can then be negotiated lower. If that's how you want to do it that's your prerogative, just understand that's offputting for new customers. It's hard to want to establish a relationship and have a conversation when the first impression is being taken advantage of. And when your response to pricing questions is "well the hobby is thriving!" I don't think that's off base.

Places like this are why people are now looking to buy digital media only, the need to price gauge…read moreand bad customer service. It turns what for many is a great hobby into a greedy money scheme. There was not one game at this place that was priced competitively, even the least desirable games are over $5 what you could get them for at other shops. Their workers are immature and when this is communicated have a bad attitude.

The owner Joe, really is a great guy which is why he is mentioned in every review. He's got a good little staff of employees who are always very helpful and kind. Need a movie recommendation? Give Joe several titles you've enjoyed in the past and he will come up with something you've never even heard of! You won't ever want (or need!) to use Redbox again after you see the selection this little shop has... There are several monthly plans you can subscribe to (we have 2 out at a time, about $25 per month). Only wanna rent family movies? There's a plan for you too, $4.99 per month. Oh and I mention the selection of video games? Yeah, it's extensive too! I hate to mention it, but I have to.... There's an epic xxx section complete with Girls Gone Wild and all the parodies. You're welcome. Pretty much every hit show that's ever been on television is there and when you rent a series, you get the whole series not just one or two discs at a time. Joe also takes requests and custom orders, so if you dont see something, ask! Don't feel like going out? Oh well they also deliver! (This is subject to availability of staff) You'll always be in the loop with the text alerts too. New releases and specials pretty frequently. The shop is located next door to the Auto Zone, so park on the street and not in their lot. Happy 19 years (October 27) to Joe and his Video Strip, wishing you many more.

Whether you are looking for, cd's, dvd's or video games Disc Replay has a varied selection of previously listened to cd's, seen that already dvd's and been played video games. The selection includes, and this is my favorite, retro games, including Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Cube, Nintendo Ds, and every variation of, Sega Genesis, Atari, Commodore, and every gaming console known to exist, well at least it seems that way. Where else can you find Sega Game Gear games? Many of these games come with the original box. It's hit or miss to what may be available so if you see something you think you might want, get it when you see it, it might not be there during your next visit. Gaming consoles including the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Entertainment System were spotted on a recent visit. Controllers and other random components may be lurking beneath the glass display case. Remember in high school when you were told you had to purchase a fancy calculator that you then went to the store to purchase and it was like crazy expensive considering its a calculator, yeah, you could find it at Disc Replay but for less. Tablets and notebooks come and go. A variety of cellphones and even ipods could be in stock. Collectibles including band posters and stickers are available too. An assortment of easily displayed records always has treasure hunters looking for that rare vinyl. Relatively new to Disc Replay, is an ever growing selection of guitars and amps. On a recent visit I saw something interesting, it was a VCR, from what I understand the letters v c and r is an acronym for video cassette recorder, my research tells me that a vcr is like a dvr, but without the tapes, a tape is a large looking cassette that went into this vcr thingy, they called this type of tape a vhs tape. Not only can one purchase stuff, but you can sell your cd's, dvd's, video games, newer and vintage, stereo components, guitar, amp, cell phone, calculator, tablet, and whatever else you want to buy sell or trade for cash or store credit. Disc Replay Orland Park is conveniently located on LaGrange road and is always a fun stop to go look at what you didn't know you wanted. The staff are friendly, although new and I don't recognize any of them, maybe there was a change in management? With the previous group of employees, 4 years ago at least it seemed like it was a party, now the party seems like it ended. Speaking of a party the music is too loud, but thats only because the music comes from a speaker that is centralized in the store and not from an overhead speaker, and when you stand in front of the speaker, its a little too loud. I enjoy spending time in Disc Reply, its a store that I hope is around as many times as my vinyl spins.

Instead of actually checking, he led me to a section that I already knew was incorrect. I went along with it briefly to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it quickly became clear he wasn't interested in helping. Without making any effort to search or verify, he simply said they didn't have the item. He then brought over another employee who immediately backed him up rather than attempting to locate the item or provide any real assistance. This was a stark contrast to my past experiences at the Orland Park location, where employees were helpful, looked items up on their computers, and were able to locate plenty of what I was searching for. Unfortunately, the lack of effort and professionalism at this location has cost them a long-time customer. I will not be returning.
