Only TheBreuerChair.com (orders fulfilled by Horizon) seemed to have these frames in stock. Online info is not always reliable, so I called Horizon to confirm whether this item was available for immediate shipment. The sales rep put me on hold while she checked with the warehouse. I was kept on hold for 20 minutes. Finally she assured me that these items were definitely in stock and would be shipped promptly upon receipt of my order. Did the frames include chair glides? No. So, she added 4 sets of glides to my order. I gladly provided my credit card info over the phone. Swiftly came the infuriating message that the chair frames were backordered and would take 10-12 weeks to fulfill. I balked about being misled, but owner Ben Z. apologetically explained that the items believed to be in stock were actually allocated to previous orders, and assured me that my credit card would not be charged until my order was ready to ship. I agreed to wait. 11 weeks later, my order (shipped by FedEx) finally arrived. Unfortunately the carton was badly damaged during transit. Apart from some loosely crumpled paper, its contents were not at all protected. While the frames were neither bent out of shape nor dented, I observed minor scratches and abrasions on all four pieces. This absolutely could have been prevented if Horizon had packed the order properly. Oh, that's not all. The 4 sets of single-prong chair glides were incompatible with these frames, which arrived with double-prong glides already installed. Rather than return the frames and then have to wait another 3 months for replacement, I opted to polish out the abrasions myself (I used a cloth buffing wheel + white polishing compound). Ben Z. offered to refund the $28 cost of the unneeded glides plus a 10% discount on the chair frames. I accepted. Wait! The story isn't quite over! Horizon eventually processed my refund, but not without additional rounds of email and foot-dragging. And then, my credit card statement revealed that [drumroll] Horizon charged DOUBLE for my order! Attributing the gaping overcharge to "confusion and error within our processing system," Ben Z. apologized and refunded the erroneous amount. No business is immune from occasionally botching an order, but there was absolutely no excuse for this debacle.

She spent a number of hours going over fabrics and colors, long after my own patience was growing thin! She went above and beyond, truly can't say enough...so the furniture will take a few months to get here...so what? That's the price you pay for quality, and Annie has made lifetime customers of us all. The showroom was immaculate, the people behind the front desk friendly, warm and welcoming, and the furniture really is of extremely good quality. They've sold us!

My recliner was delivered with an unusual odor that I initially thought was a "new furniture" smell. The odor grew stronger throughout the day, and I later noticed it had a chemical quality. By the following morning, the odor was causing a headache, and I was not comfortable using the chair. The odor also transferred to a pillow placed on the chair. I reported the issue within 24 hours of delivery. I was disappointed that, for a premium custom furniture purchase, the initial solution was to "air it out" and that it could not be returned because it was custom. Although the chair was ultimately returned, Ethan Allen retained more than 1/3 of the total purchase price. I agreed to return the chair, but I did not agree that the partial refund was a final resolution. I asked to speak to someone else about the remaining amount and was told by the store manager that no one else could offer a different resolution. I then called customer service and was told a district manager would call me within 48 hours, but I never received a call. When I did not receive a call, I followed up again 48 hours later but still did not receive a callback. After many years of positive experiences with Ethan Allen, I am very disappointed with how this situation was handled. Given this experience, I will not be shopping with Ethan Allen in the future.

We ordered a storage bed from Macy's, but the sales rep entered the wrong version from the start…read morewithout us knowing and never brought it up. We were the ones who eventually caught the store's mistake when reviewing the receipt, and when we did, the rep treated it very casually. Instead of taking real accountability, we were told there was only a '50/50 chance' of fixing it and that we might need to deal with a duplicate charge, essentially holding two charges at once, until the right bed was ready. A duplicate charge for a mistake that was not ours is not a solution. It is unfair and unacceptable, and now we'll have to wait at least an additional month for the correct bed to be delivered. This was not our mistake, yet the options presented still left us facing extra charges and unnecessary stress while this Macy's location avoided taking responsibility for its negligence. The way this store handled the situation showed careless customer service. They brushed off their own mistake instead of taking it seriously or being proactive, which forced us to escalate to another employee. We trusted Macy's because of its name, but this experience proved that reputation means nothing without real customer care. I wish I had looked at the Yelp reviews beforehand because it is clear my experience is not the only one like this. If you expect accountability or reliable customer service, look to another nearby furniture store in the area. Responsibility is simply not a part of how this Macy's location operates.

The sales person, Lucy, convinced us the leather material we were getting was durable and would stand up to the test of time. We also were sold on the guardsman plan who considers all the damage on every cushion regular wear and tear. If the leather gets even slightly wet it leaves a mark. The furniture that we received was horrendous. The dining table that we received has over three hundred worm holes in clusters of three. That is all you see when you look at the table. Bassett refused to take it back and replace it. They told me that it was "customer perception." All of my friends and family cannot believe that a company would send this to a customer. After talking with them numerous times, the best that Bassett would do is sell me another one at what they said was cost. I agreed to this because I could not look at the brand new table that they sent me. I paid and additional $980 on top of the original $4,000. They also had the audacity to tell me that I was taking a chance that the new top could be worse than the original. How is that possible? Luckily the new top was better. The manager at this store is extremely rude and will not help you. Be aware that what you see in the store will not be what you get. I could go on about how terrible this company and their service is, but this is already too long. I do not want a response from Basset like I see with all of the other bad reviews.
