I was gifted a Webber BBQ from home appliance in June. Three months into having the BBQ, the flame would drop off causing a propane build up under the hood of the bbq. Confused as to why my grill stopped heating I touched the knob to see if a friend had maybe turned it off and it led to a big explosion. After contacting Weber, they hit me with a legal waiver and said they won't come fix my practically brand new grill unless I sign it. Home appliance was made aware how ridiculous that request is because all I am asking for is for a professional to come and fix it and they're doing absolutely nothing about it. Really shitty customer service. As a long time resident of Oceanside I hate to bash a local store but the owner Jeffery didn't help at all with the situation. The least he could do is send someone to back their products and warrantee. Since the owner is now trying to turn this situation on me (on my google review) I am adding to my original post. I never threatened to sue, being there is nothing to sue for lmao. They asked me if I got burnt and I was honest and said my eyes and hair were burnt but then responded how grateful I am that no real injuries were a result of the explosion. Get your facts straight home appliance before trying to turn it on me. You sold me a malfunctioning grill and are letting Webber play games with me. Your own employee's exact words were "one thing has nothing to do with the other and they should repair the brand new grill". My advice: purchase from retailers who back the product they sell and if there are issues within the warrantee they honor that. Any other appliance store would take back the BBQ or replace it. Hard to believe I've been shopping from this store for over 20 years. The reason I keep coming back....they treat you right. The price is always fair. Could someone lowball a cheaper price? Maybe. But I feel confident they will do what they say every time. The last two days, I have been waiting for a warranty repair from Frigidaire. They assign it to less-than-honest companies who simply don't show up. I called Home Appliance to tell them what happened, and they put me in contact with a trusted repair company that can do it under warranty. When I needed a particular size refrigerator for a family member's home, they knew exactly the one model that would fit and had it delivered the next day. Buyer beware! This store does not value its customers. If you have any issue, they will blame you. That's our experience. (We bought a washing machine years ago and luckily had no issue so we weren't aware how awful their customer service can be.) The store return policy is not easily accessible (from our experience, once you purchase an appliance, you're stuck with it and any problems will have to be remedied in your home; no returns). After 18 years, we had to replace our beloved 36" Kenmore range. Finding a 36" range under $3,000 isn't easy, there isn't much selection. Two Frigidaire ranges we tried both had faulty electrical systems and had to be returned (plus they were not holding heat). PC Richards & Sons were very helpful and accommodating. We decided to try Home Appliance. The next level up range seemed to be a Capital for $5,000. When it arrived, it was damaged (a metal shelf was bent), and it could not be successfully installed to our gas line because the back of the stove is one flat piece (our previous ranges had no installation issues). When we voiced our concerns to Home Appliance, we were blamed for the issues. At this point we had no interest in working any further with Home Appliance and wanted to return the range, but the store owner responded aggressively and declared "there's something wrong with you people" before hanging up on me. Well the Covid 19 pandemic has resulted in more home meals as a result of the stay home program. After many years of use my Weber Grill lived out its life. Rather than a difficult to navigate big box store I chose to contact the reliable nearby independent. I've had great experience with them previously and they continue on that track. Representative described all the grills and features , made honest recommendations and made the purchase very easy. Grill delivers today at time promised. It was set up and my old grill removed and carted away. Again a pleasure to deal with Home Appliance and I was also able to help a local independent during these challenging times. Hi folks, welcome to Home appliances in Oceanside, Long Island. Wife and I are looking at new furniture. We have a few ideas and we're looking to add some new ones. We really like patronizing small local businesses and with it's free parking lot, Home seemed the ideal place to browse. After walking in I was surprised at the amount of merchandise in this little corner store. What immediately struck me was the genuine friendliness of the sales folks that offered to help me. I was especially pleased to be introduced to the idea of adding a electronic fireplace to our new furniture lineup. Home had quite a few of the electronic fireplaces to look at, play with and to imagine them being in my home. This is one of the reasons that I really needed to take the time to personally visit brick-and-mortar establishments. I need to develop a rapport with my salesperson and I need to be able to personally examine the manufacturers quality of the furniture and products. Most importantly, I want to be able to sit on my Furniture considerations to see if they're comfortable. Home Appliance checks all of these boxes it was such a pleasure to leisurely browse without any sales pressure. I want to thank the kind folks for helping me shop and giving me some great ideas and information. It was also nice to see that customers can Finance their purchases here at 0% (if they qualify). Purchased a split A/C system w/installation of 3 wall units. Install day(8hrs) was a nightmare, arrived late, no GC, crew barely spoke english, it was very difficult to communicate, they shortcut the install by running wires through my attic not wrapped around house which had been agreed on, condenser sits on 3" platform and has sunk to paver level. I wish there had been a site survey before install. Condenser is going to rust out being on ground level. I called, emailed and have gotten no response from Jeff (who was great during sale transaction). Then used his handyman to remove my in-wall A/C's, not as experienced in doing this type of job as was told to me. Tommy was nice to deal with, when I purchased, he read my email and apologized for the inconvenience, but I have yet to get resolution as to the guys coming back to raise the condenser platform off the ground as it should be installed correctly. No demo on unit after install, I had to google a utube video. Very disappointed! read more

My family has been buying 70% of our appliances& electronics from here for FIFTY YEARS. There is more to buying an appliance than the STICKER PRICE .... And their prices are ALWAYS Competitive! I am buying a wall unit AIr Conditioner. I know I won't be oversold a unit that is too big& more expensive than I need. They taught me that too big a unit cools the room before taking out the humidity so that wd be a bad purchase. Shopping local is nice in theory but I will never do so again, at least not with this company. Beyond rude employees who have no business running a business. I'm so disgusted that I could spit. Last Saturday I stopped in at Home Appliance to purchase a window AC unit. They gave me the option of having it delivered and installed the following Thursday, which I thought was great. They said they would call me the night before with a delivery time. Thursday comes and I get a call from the driver saying he has my AC but he's just dropping it off; he only installs sleeves and this is a window unit and that I need to call the store for a new installation appointment. So I call and I explain the issue saying that this was really their mistake since, on every copy of any receipt I have, it specifically says WINDOW. I assumed that they could send someone out the next day to rectify the mistake. They put me on hold. When they picked up they informed me the best they could do for delivery was June 4th, so another entire week of waiting. So I said "if the best you can do is 6/4 I'd really like to be compensated some way on the delivery fee. I gave up my entire day today to be home and this was your error." I get placed on hold. I wait. Someone new picks up "who are you holding for?" I said I'm not sure I had a problem with my order and someone was helping me figure it out. They said ok and put me on hold again. The same person picks up "who are you holding for?" Again, I said I'm not sure but I had a problem with my order and I need some help. Put me on hold again. Pick up again, "who are you holding for?" So at that point, I'm furious and I'm like "I have no idea who I'm holding for. I had an issue with my delivery and the more you put me on hold, I'm going to become increasingly agitated. Please do not put me on hold again," to which I hear some wise-ass in the background laughing, "put her on hold again," AND THEY DID. When they pick up again I'm still trying to keep my composure and explain the situation, but this asshole guy starts talking over me, "yeah hey I know what we can do, we'll send a guy out to pick up the unit and refund you." So I told him that that is not what I'm asking for; I still need the unit. I don't want a full refund but this was your error and the installation and delivery fee is $75. I would really like to be compensated for the inconvenience, whether you refund that extra fee partially or fully. Then he goes "oh I can give you a full refund on the $75." I'm thinking fantastic, that's all I was asking for... then he goes "so you have someone to install it for you then?" I said, "no I still need it installed!" He said, "well then I can't refund that fee." So I said, "well then you need to do better than a 6/4 delivery date because that's absolutely not going to work for me." Then I hear the original wise-ass and some other idiot in the background guffawing and saying "hey, put her on hold again." I wait for 7 minutes listening to some bullshit bird chirping that's supposed to relax me until some lady (who I had spoken to at least 3x previously) picks up, "Home Appliance, how can I help you?" as if they're the busiest big-box store and have thousands of people on hold and can't keep track of their callers, causing me to have to explain the entire story AGAIN. They ended up dicking me around for another 10 minutes before telling me that someone would be to me "within an hour" before abruptly hanging up the phone. I was in need of a new air conditioner and wanted to stay away from the so-called "big box" appliance stores because I've never had any success with their delivery and installation services. I was recommended to Home Appliance by a relative and was very impressed with ordering my air conditioner over the phone during the pandemic. We received our new air conditioner the following week and was even more impressed that the installers took such care to make sure everything was level and done the right way. However, when the installers plugged in the air conditioner to see if it worked, it caused a big "pop" and sparked, which tripped my circuit breaker. The installer suggested we reach out to an electrician to see exactly what caused this to happen. The following day, we had our electrician come to see what had happened and it turns out Home Appliance sent us a faulty air conditioner, which blew out our outlet and circuit breaker. The cost of the repair was $300. We should of known that something was wrong with this unit when it was delivered because the box it came in wasn't in great condition. After the installation, we reached out to Jeff, who is supposedly the owner and is by far the rushiest and most nasty customer service representative I've ever spoke to. After speaking to a different employee, they agreed to send us a new unit, but they were "out of stock" on this particular unit, so we had to wait a full week in the heat for the next delivery date. A week later, the installers came to swap out the air conditioner and was relieved that the new air conditioner was in perfect working condition, however we were dumbfounded to see that the installers forgot to replace the insulation around the air conditioner. How does that even happen? How do you leave someone's air conditioner not fully insulated? That's the equivalent of leaving a window open during the summer. Anyway, after everything was back to working normally, we decided to reach back out to Jeff to tell him we should compensated for the $300 electricians bill, because the faulty unit that was sent to us was the only reason we were in this whole mess. That's when everything went down to toilet and I decided to share my experience. Jeff and Michelle, who is another employee at Home Appliance couldn't have been any more disrespectful to us. They were beyond nasty, rushy, and unprofessional. Who acts like that to a paying customer? I understand that people have changed during this pandemic, but that's no excuse to act like they did. That's not the way you run a "great company". When we were shopping around at first, everyone at Home Appliance was so nice and helpful and accommodating, but once they have your money, they don't want to be bothered by you. I love the idea of shopping local and truly thought we found our forever go-to store in Home Appliance. Having recently completed a big kitchen/dining room renovation, we purchased everything from a Wolf range to a beverage fridge from them. Everything was delivered (mostly) without a hitch and operated great aside from the ice maker in our freezer that after 4 service calls failed to produce ice. After sharing this information with Home Appliance, I was told that Frigidaire would refund the cost of our fridge. They said I was free to stop in and select another model that matched our dimensions, Frigidaire or not, and that I just had to pay the difference. On Sunday, I did just as they said and "popped in" to check out other options. I was led around by Steven who could not have been nicer, more invested, appreciative, and informative. We narrowed it down to two choices, and he told me to call once I had made my decision. Today I called Home Appliance and spoke with Jeff who is the most condescending human I have ever encountered in my very full life. Upon sharing a brief synopsis of why I'm calling, he said "We're not giving you a new fridge" and "I honestly have no idea what Steven told you... He's wrong..." When I tried to offer more detail he spoke over me and then hung up (!?). A couple minutes later, Jeff calls back to yell at me again, saying it's my fault that I didn't tell him "there's paperwork" (what?!) and had I said the fridge was serviced, he would have known what to do. As I was attempting to tell him I did say that the first time around, but he most likely didn't hear it because he was aggressively talking over me, he continued to aggressively talk over me. He offered an empty, mocking "apology" and I told him that he has zero customer service and I can't believe that he's in sales. Then he took it to the next level and said, "I know, I'm a complete dummy and I should die." I was dumbfounded by this comment, and said, "I did not say that." I went quiet at this point. Then he comes back with, "So, which fridge do you want?" (!?) I calmly told him that I would prefer to do business with Steven and to have a great day. Needed a new dishwasher, after going on line and researching what was available went to several difference stores to look at the different models.This is were the difference between stores really became apparent.While some stores had lots of different models the salespeople were obviously not really knowledgeable of the different products. We then went to Home Appliance which we have purchased before. There was the difference, no predatory sales person just someone to assist you in selecting what you where interested in. Knowledge of the the different brands and styles was very evident. No pressure just helpful information.When we found what we were looking for, we got a very fare price and a good price for installation.The delivery and installation went very well with a team on knowable and respectful clean working crew.The old unit was taken away. He talks to customers like they are dirt, is unapologetic, disrespectful, takes no responsibility for anything. If something goes wrong, don't expect this store to take responsibility and rectify the problem. Jeff shouldn't be allowed to deal with customers, he's just a nasty miserable person who should stay in his office. Salesmen are pretty nice and helpful though. They throw you under the bus after they are paid in full and deliver the appliances. I purchased a stove, dishwasher, microwave, air conditioner, refrigerator and ice maker. Would not replace a broken refrigerator. Even GE couldn't believe they would not replace it. This was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a appliance store or manufacturer. GE will not replace an appliance until they attempt to repair it. GE and certainly NOT HOME APPLIANCES cares that you don't have a working refrigerator or how long and inconvenient this is. Four weeks without a working refrigerator and countless phone calls. GE has finally agreed to replace the refrigerator...still waiting for delivery. I know that if I had purchased this refrigerator from PC Richard's or some other big store I would have had a new replacement refrigerator the next day. Too many details to mention, but after the initial picking out appliances they are not always polite. Go elsewhere... Never again this store and never again a GE appliance. read more

They have the appeal of a small, family owned business that everyone loves to support, but the second you place that order and run your credit card it turns immediately. I worked directly with the owner Jeff and he is obnoxious, rude, and could care less about the customer once he's got the sale. From the amount of time that it took to get my goods to him not returning phone calls and sending the wrong thing with the delivery guy, it was clear that he does not care about his customers once he makes his money. An hour after we set it up 2 thin black lines appreared across the screen I called Home Appliance corp and basically was told by Jeff the owner Here is a 800 number for Panasonic take it up with them. We dealt with Jeff when purchasing new appliances for our home. I think he is one of the owners, which is cool because when was the last time you bought something from Mr. Sears or Mr. Lowes? Not only was he friendly and helpful, but the entire staff their really went out of their way to explain everything I wanted to know about refrigerators and dishwashers. Jeff looked up every possible rebate I could get on my purchase. Plus, my new appliances were delivered right when Jeff said they would be, not within some mystical 10am-3pm window. Classy. Home has a wide variety of....things for your Home. From reclining chairs, couches to BBQs to HDTVs and dishwashers. Anything you might want to stuff under your roof, they either have in stock or can get for you. And they seem to know all there is to know about they sell, which is nice. No question seemed to throw them off, and if Jeff didn't know it, someone else in the store did. No pressure sales tactics. No gimmicks. Big kudos to the folks at Home Appliance . . . they really have come through for us. While we used them for all of the brand new Electrolux appliances, they have come to our aid when we have had problems with some of the said appliances, in particular the refrigerator. Since we initially received it, we have had problems with it of one sort or another -- generally speaking either things have been freezing in the fridge or/and the ice maker has given us problems, and one of the drawers has given us headaches as well. When we first started having problems, they replaced the entire refrigerator for us. Then when the new one gave us the same headaches, they ensured we got service on it -- multiple times. When that didn't work, they now have fought with Electrolux for us to get yet another refrigerator, as opposed to having a repairman come for a third or fourth time. So now they got the approval from Electrolux and we are waiting for delivery of the newest refrigerator, and hoping that this one solves all of our problems. We have also bought a washer and dryer from them and we expect to be purchasing additional electronics from them in the near future when we complete the work on our basement. These guys are top notch and totally worth every dollar we have spent with them so far. read more

When I spoke with the original salesperson Thomas I had no problem. Jeff, the despicable owner took over negotiations with me and since I wanted to finance any built in purchase from wherever I was going to purchase @ 0% interest, he gave me the phone # to Synchrony bank, told me about their great 0% financing for 12 or 18 months, and that he had a Thermador built in unit on the showroom floor that would fit flush into my space. I told him I was in negotiations with Plessers in Babylon, as well as several other stores as I wanted to replace our then current Sub Zero and wasn't sure which I was going to purchase or from which store. I figured it wouldn't hurt to get the line of credit since at zero percent, I'd use it wherever I was going to purchase from. I asked Jeff to send me the proposal for his Thermador so I'd have the info needed in print while negotiating with the other stores. I received the paperwork in a PDF & thought that was it. I called the store back as I had a question about the condenser in the Thermador and Jeff asked if I had been approved by Synchrony Bank for the credit line. I said that I was. He asked me for the credit card # which I refused to give him and was very clear with him that I had not decided on the Sub Zero for the extra $2000.00 yet from a different store. He then pulled his sales rule "101....Fear of loss." Said if I didn't put down a deposit then and there it could be sold, as refrigerators are scarce due to the Pandemic. I refused, and once again said that I hadn't decided what I was purchasing, or from which store, and I said go ahead and sell it. I had NO further contact with him or his store and then received a phone call from Jeff on New Years Eve stating " The Thermador you ordered was just delivered to the store, so let's set up the delivery date." I was beyond shocked, had already bought a Sub Zero which was delivered, installed and working beautifully in our kitchen. When I repeated that I did not order the Thermador and wasn't interested in it, Jeff unprofessionally said "You did order it and if you don't want it you'll be charged a restocking fee." I said, yet again, I purchased nothing from you he insisted that I did, nastily said "good luck," then hung up. The FINAL RESULT was that he gained access to my credit card in October through Synchrony Bank and charged my card the full purchase price of $7500.00 to my card!!!! I contacted the Synchony Fraud Department yesterday 1/2/2021 who informed me that a case was opened and they would take care of it! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FROM DEALING WITH AN EXTREMELY DEVIOUS AND TRUTH CHALLENGED OWNER OF THIS APPLIANCE STORE...I'm truly shocked he's still in business, obviously desperate for sales, and how he gained access to a credit card that I did not provide ANY information for shows the serious security breach with Synchrony Bank. I know this review is rediculously long, but if it helps one person it's worth it. The legal fees alone to straighten this out would cost as much as the refrigerator....I'm grateful I won't have the expense of an outside attorney and this will be resolved, as well as charges pressed to this owner and the chain of security breaches. PLEASE GO TO PLESSERS, APPLIANCE WORLD, PC RICHARDS, or any other small reputable company. This one should be out of business. BTW....If your asking how I couldn't know I was charged the full amount of a refrigerator in October I didn't order.....Synchrony Bank admitted that my actual credit card, statements, and all mailed correspondence with me were returned to them because it went to a PO Box which I never provided. So since October I never heard from Jeff....NO SURPRISE....nor did I receive anything from the Synchrony Bank. I TRULY had no idea I was charged for anything. Both the store, it's owner and the bank are a true risk to deal with. I hope this helps someone who's planning to finance a purchase. If I could give a Zero Star rating, I would. I redid my entire house with appliances from Home. Walking into the showroom the salesman are helpful and really knowledgeable. They'll tell you what to spend on, and what not to spend on. Jeff was also helpful and wants to see you get the best service you can get. On all of the occasions that I went to Home the prices were better, the delivery was better, and the installation was done quick and easily. I did a lot of internet shopping and they beat all of those prices. Forget PC Richards, Best Buy, and all of those other places. The experience at those places could never compare. First they said I'd have it in a week and that was a lie. 3 weeks later after calling them 5 times they sent someone with a different a/c unit that I ordered (one that was worth far less than what I paid) and they couldn't even put it in. After complaining again they sent a different crew that was completely unprofessional and downright nasty even after I thanked them and tipped them $40 in to addition to the $50 I already paid to have it installed. When I turned away for a second to use the bathroom they were gone and left a mess of broken drywall and pieces of plastic. I told them I wanted to keep my old a/c unit which they broke and to top it all off my internet and phone wires were mysteriously cut on the outside of the house where they parked their van. I needed a new fridge and a friend took me here. Mike helped me and was really efficient and fast. So I figured I'd buy a microwave too since mine was broken for years and I was here anyway. I wanted basic and mike found me an inexpensive model. He didn't try up selling me at all and I appreciated that. The stuff came on time and the delivery guys were very professional. They have a large neon Open sign that was illuminated. Walked in at 930am, but was rudely told to leave because they open at 10am. I should read the signs... I actually did, it did say Open. Owner was rude to me for no reason. I have never been treated so nastily by a local shop owner before. Never spending an dime here again. Will shop with my feet and take my business elsewhere. read more

Similar to another review, we ordered a product from them and was given a date to receive it. Then said they couldn't get it for us and tried to get us to pay for a higher priced model. The owner called us cheap when we declined. read more

Bought dishwasher from home. They couldn't get the one I wanted so they suggested a more expensive one which I bought. I was told that insulation was going to be $150 when the men got here the price went up to 300 they said they had to do additional work. Never was told there could be additional work was totally surprised I asked Home to at least split the cost with me they refused I will never go back to that appliance store again. Home said they gave me a bill telling me it would be $150 or more never received that part of the paperwork they did not tell me the truth. read more
