I have used Excel several times over the years. Recently they assisted with a bathroom upgrade. They are, by far, the best contract organization that I have ever worked with. They are true professionals that work to accommodate every need (outside of any scope) to complete their work, to their customers satisfaction. I HIGHLY recommend!!! read more

Background: Our storm drain was overflowing when family stayed over and I believed we needed to rod our line for maintenance or a major repair if needed. We've had issues with slow draining in the past and cleaning out the sewer line was "maintenance" for the line until replacement was needed. With the history of our house, we knew we were "buying time" before a major repair. A plumber came out and I explained the whole history and situation with the sewer line and what we done in the past with success, but he insisted to follow what he thought needed to be done. Which was removing the toilet and rod at a higher cost than the easy access clean out. We have an easy access clean out, but he insisted on removing the toilet. OK-ill let the pro do his job, even for a higher cost. He did clean out some baby wipes and TP and the sewer worked for about an Hour, but still backing up. I asked if he went further or "really cleaned it out" and he said he got the block. I felt ok that the job was done while cleaning his work area that was left messy and dirty. Nope...When i called the company back they said he was another job and would finish when he was done. he came back around 7pm to tell me he couldn't finish it that night and had to work on it tomorrow, but will bring a camera. Next day-More sewer rodding and no camera and no luck on a flowing sewer. Third day was an estimate on removing a catch basin and putting a clean out in the front yard. They quoted over $11k for the job that others were half the price. When asked about the high cost, they mentioned that all the utility lines are close together and it takes time. Im not a professional plumber, but feel that they were trying to take advantage of the situation. i went with a local company that did the work for 1/3rd the price and added a backwater valve. Also-the utility lines were not that close together and they did not have any issues. **** Please be cautious with Excel or get other opinions and bids.**** read more

My sump pump broke down, water was all over. I started panicking, what to do, it is Friday, what if it rains over the weekend? After thorough research, I decided to call Excell plumbing. What a treat it was, lady with a very pleasant and sexy voice, listened to my problems, instantly came me down. After, in the matter of 30 min, very professional and knowledgeable technician came out and without many questions took care of the problem at hand. All I can say wow!!! Professional experts and very AFFORDABLE prices. Doesn't get better then this!!!! Thank you!!! read more

Excel Plumbing is incredible - wonderful, kind customer service & fast response time! 2 of our 3 toilets were constantly running and sometimes leaking. They were both super old (1995 old). Ronnie came out to take a look and set us up with 2 new toilets within 24 hours from the original assessment at an affordable price. Thank you Ronnie & Excel Plumbing for making this process extremely easy! read more

Missed our originally scheduled appointment, but they went out of their way to make it right and that is worth at least 4 stars.

Excel has quite literally saved my life several times this year! We have had unimaginable flooding emergencies (in two different homes! Just our luck...) and Excel not only came in right away, performed an amazing job and even followed up each time to make sure the job was completed properly and efficiently. They are most definitely my go-to guys! read more

Mixed feeling, but to be professional 5 stars, excellent service and workmanship, on short notice serviced our home, but service come with high price, I guess plumbing is expensive. read more

I noticed over the weekend that my Insinkerator was leaking and needed to find a reliable company nearby-After reading wonderful reviews about Excel Plumbing, I decided to reach out via message to get a quote. Not even 10 minutes later, I received a response and was told that they were happy to get someone to come and survey the issue without any charge. I scheduled for Monday at 10 am. I received a text from Excel that Adrian would be arriving. What I REALLY appreciated is that they also attached a photo of what he looked like. I don't know of any other company that does this. Adrian came prepared with a mask, booties. After surveying the issue, Adrian confirmed the leak and on the spot, gave me the quote and said he already had the tools with him to replace it if it was ok. He was in and out of my house within an hour. Excellent service and job well done! I would not hesitate to call Excel Plumbing again for future work. The only thing I wish I hadn't missed was the coupon they were promoting on Yelp-But that's on me. read more

The customer service person took great care of my emergency plumbing problem! She got the plumber to come out the same day, and replace my leaking toilet for almost half the cost of another company! Wow! I'm impressed and very happy I found a great, honest plumbing company! I very highly recommend Excel Plumbing in Wheeling! Thank you so much! read more

I read yelp reviews to decide on a plumbing service for a small drain rooter job. The recent reviews for Excel looks promising, particularly about Ignazio. I called for an appointment and got a good time for the same day. The technician arrived early, estimated the cost and got to work. I was delighted to see the name tag of Ignazio. Several Yelp reviews referred to this name. Indeed, the job cost what he estimated and he was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Not much can be worse than a drain backing up stinking junk. It cannot get better than promptly, professionally, for a fair price, getting the issue resolved! read more

Everything went very well. They came out very shortly after being called to fix my broken water heater and replaced it same day for a very reasonable cost. Would definitely recommend. read more

My sump pump seemed to be recirculating water. Wanted to get it checked before something catastrophic happened. Adrian B came promptly. Checked the pump in a variety of ways. Answered my questions and gave me a clean bill of health. Checked my backup to make sure it was working too. And, no service fee, so there was no charge. Not too many shops like this these days! Thumbs way up! read more

Our pump went out in the middle of the night. First thing in the morning we contacted excel thru the internet and in a few minutes I had a plumber enroute to my house. When he arrived john he was very polite, professional and very friendly and knowledgeable. He completed the job and no problems. Thanks again and I would recommend them to everyone. read more

It took 4 separate occasions and ~4 weeks to complete, but toilet finally works. I received a 50% refund.

Showed up soon after appointment window with a phone call and text to let me know he was a few minutes behind schedule. Work was done well and he cleaned up after taking all packaging with him. Get an estimate before work is started. Very expensive for the work performed. read more

Awesome company! Egor R was our technician to replace our water heater. He came quick, on time, explained everything to the fullest understanding for me so I knew what I was paying for and was super friendly. Thank you! & we highly recommend using Excel Plumbing! read more

Excel helped us out of a real jam. We were less than 24 hours from closing and suddenly a fitting on our washing machine line needed to be replaced. They were able to schedule us for the next morning, diagnosed the issue and fixed it within a couple hours. The cost was a little high, but considering our situation, I was glad to have it fixed. Michael was wonderful, explained what needed to be done and didn't try to sell us on repairs we didn't need. Definitely would use them again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, but had to select one to write this. I had Excel Plumbing come out and inspect an issue with my kitchen line in September 2016 wherein they explained that I had a broken pipe and should have an outside access placed. I agreed to the work and then once it began and they realized how much the outside access was going to cost them for the digging portion they then stated that the line wasn't broken and stated that I should have them do a hydro jetting. I asked how they confirmed that it wasnt broken and they claimed a camera inspection; however, didnt have anything to substantiate that at my request. They did some work on the line that was later found to be against code (they claim the village inspected it but I FOIA'd the village and they didn't - in fact they whited out all the other work they were completing on the form they sent to the village) They were back out slightly over a year later for the same issue. They only completed a quick rodding of the line and said it was fine. I requested them to look further into the issue because clearly it was not resolved or fixed and the licensed plumber just put silicone caulk on the floor. I had another plumbing company out since the issue remained in early June and they told me that the line WAS in fact broken and that the access they placed in the front didn't have the backflow prevention I was told it would and that kitchen line would have to be replaced and the work outside of code repaired properly and that based on the condition of the pipes and the continued issues even just a year later there is no sufficient evidence that the hydrojetting was completed. I have reached out and received a letter from their attorney basically confirming all the work I said they completed and talked around the actual issue of the kitchen line and sent a response including the inspection report from the village and have not received a response. When I inquired about the back flow prevention in April 2017 I never received a response from the service manager in regards to it and I would assume his failure to respond is because it wasn't done. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE - even my worst enemy. Posting an update after your response on 06/24: The work in question was NOT performed due to the misinformation provided by your licensed plumber after the initial inspection of the issue. I appreciate that you and your attorney keep talking around the issue here. Also, what I mentioned was completed was not completed to the extent it was explained to me as there wasn't any backflow prevention installed. I mentioned in my letter the emails that went to Gino Babovich the service manager, so your company was aware of the issues, he never responded to me. I sent multiple follow ups requesting the professional courtesy of a response, didn't receive one - so to claim you weren't aware of it is false. To say that you weren't provided a copy of the other plumbers estimate and/or invoice is also false. That was provided to you in my initial letter that you clearly admitted to receiving. This issue was NOT unrelated. I also provided to you the initial invoices from YOUR company where they stated this was an issue and was later told after the expense of the other work went up that this line was not broken and I was denied seeing a camera inspection and it was removed from the invoice from your company. You claim that the village inspected all work completed which again is false, I requested ALL permits and inspections related to any plumbing work since I have owned the house in 2011 and the ONLY item listed was the outside access, not the inside line that was done against code. The village wouldn't have known to inspect that because the invoice you provided to them, this work was whited out, so again FALSE. I stick to the facts while you just continue to attempt to provide a defense for the fact that I was lied to. Excel was back out for the same issue slightly over a year later and I had to request twice for the plumber to take a look at it when he just slapped some silicone on it and handed me an invoice. That is not proper repair or inspection or repair so clearly I would not trust for your plumbers to come out again which is why I had another company out who explained that the line was in fact broken. If it was properly repaired in the beginning and I wasn't lied to I wouldn't have continued to have the same issue. Excel plumbing is not sympathetic, not at all. read more

To summarize my experience with Excel Plumbing, on at least 9 occasions over 3 weeks, employees said they would call me back, yet they never did.  (The only one who consistently did was Mike.)  Overall, the lack of communication, lack of follow through, and misinformation seemed unprofessional and left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.  For more specific details, see below: 1/7/19- Plumbing issue started in our one and only shower. Technician came promptly in the morning to assess. 1/10- Was informed that the technician would come back on 1/11 and bring the shower part with him to install. 1/11- Got a text early in the morning saying the technician (John) was coming to replace shower part. Got a call about an hour later that he had truck issues and could not make it. Spoke with him on the phone about an hour after that, and he said the part, that he was supposedly bringing, would not be arriving until 1/18. He said he would come out that day to give an estimate on replacing the whole thing, and if we decided to do that, he would be able to complete that job the following day (1/12).  As of 4 pm on 1/11, he did not come or call to say he was not coming.  I called Excel and was told the technician got stuck on a big job and would not be coming.  Excel said they would call me on 1/14, yet they never did. 1/18- Excel did not call to set up a follow-up appointment or to let me know if the shower part came in.  1/21- I found out that the part would not be arriving until 1/24. 1/24- Mike called to say a technician would come out on Saturday morning (1/26) with no extra fee to replace the shower part. 1/25- Received an email saying a technician would be at our home between 8-10 am on 1/26. 1/26- No one came or called by 10 am.  When I called Excel, I was told the technician (Yury) got stuck on a job.  He arrived around 1 pm.  He said we needed a *different* part, so when he left, the shower still was not fixed.  Technician, who seemed extremely professional, got the new part on 1/28 and fixed the shower on 1/29 - over 3 weeks after the problem arose.  On 1/26 and 1/29, we asked the technician how much we owed, and he did not charge us. 1/30- Received two invoices from Excel. It was our understanding after talking with the technician on 1/29 that we did not owe anything, which seemed to correspond to the amount of $0 on the 1/30 invoice.  Spoke with an employee in billing (Oksana) to clarify, and she said we had a balance.  She said she would double check with the manager and technician and call me back. 1/31- No one from Excel called me back as of 2 pm on 1/31, so I called them.  I was disconnected and did not receive a call back for almost 15 minutes. read more

My husband and I hired Excel Plumbing through a deal on Angie's List for a full house inspection. Our water bills were getting rather high and we suspected there was a leak somewhere. The plumber arrived on time and looked at the hot water tank, faucets, tubs/showers, dishwasher, washing machine, and flushed the toilets. After he completed his inspection he informed us that there was not any leaks in our house and to contact the village because it sounded like there was something wrong with our meter. So the next day we contacted our village water department and they were very nice and did a graph for us showing that our water is constantly running somewhere in the house and they felt 95% positive it was from our toilets. They advised us to go get some food coloring and drop it in the tanks and if it runs down into the bowl you have a leak. So my husband went to Jewel and bought food coloring and we did our dye test...sure enough 2 out of our 3 toilets were leaking. I called my dad and all he had to do was replace the stoppers on the toilets (something my licensed plumber should have found on the original visit). Thanks dad...wish I called him first and saved $75. read more

We just moved into a house in the burbs and a month in, found sewage in the basement. Excel came out the next day and was able to ID the problem right away (original pipe to the house over 100yo corroded through). He gave us a quote but also explained potential issues and how much those could cost. He seemed trustworthy so we accepted his quote, and scheduled the work. It went fast, he got the job done and didn't have any of the potential issues. We will definitely use these guys again. read more

Changing the perception of the plumbing industry. Excel dispatched David Torres to fix our sink. 1) David showed up on-time! 2) Diagnosed the problem 3) Got replacement parts 4) Installed new parts 5) And even cleaned up the area under the sink (he made it cleaner than it was) 6) All in 1 hour David even brought the little shoe-covers and used his own paper towels to clean the area after the install. I called to set up an appointment for an estimate on a complicated plumbing project. I explained exactly what this would involve (new plumbing related to moving a washer/dryer from one part of the house to another, etc.). Someone came to our house at the scheduled appointment time. However, this person was unable to provide any sort of estimate as he only does repairs. I was told that someone would call me right away and they would send someone over who could provide the estimate. I waited and no one called. I had taken the morning off from work to get this estimate and wound up totally wasting my time. Three days later I still haven't heard from anyone. I had called Excel based on the Yelp reviews. What an amazing reputable company. I had a very nice man come to my home over three months ago to fix a problem. He did an great job but, for some reason it happened again. This issue could have been my fault or just wear and tear. I called them to come out again because I really like their service. The plumber they sent me was a man named John. He was amazing!!! He took the time to really look into the problem and to make sure it will never happen again. I was a few weeks out of my warranty but they still honor that. That tells me a lot about the company, they clearly are there for their customers. I recommend this company 1000% I have had nothing but The most positive experiences with them.
