If you need an exterminator for bed bugs, this man is not your guy. He came for an appointment…read moretoday and was here for 5 minutes. Yes, you read that right... 5 minutes. For a bed bug problem. All he did was spray some pesticides and barely covered any ground. Bed bugs are a very different pest from any other pest you'll deal with, and he accomplished absolutely nothing for us today. I work remote and planned on working at a coffee shop today, and wasted my time planning around the appointment because we were informed that we would need to vacate our apartment while they did work around our house. So much for that! I would have expected at least SOME effort to inspect our apartment and maybe try and look around for where they might be. Nope! Barely even lifted a finger. His colleague stood outside the house the entire time, and Gary wasn't even willing to touch the mattress. I had to pull it out for him. What kind of exterminator is afraid of getting their hands dirty? It's your job to find bugs and exterminate them. At least pretend you're trying dude. Before he came, he had us empty all of our dressers and put our clothes in airtight bins. I'll admit, that's good advice, but that's something you'd probably read online before dumping money and time on someone like this. So yeah, thanks for regurgitating obvious information to me. This guy didn't even bother looking into any dressers or closely inspect any of our beds. He made absolutely no effort on his part. I ended up finding more bed bugs myself after thoroughly inspecting my roomate's room, and putting actual effort into making sure that we dealt with them the best way we could for the meantime. If you are reading this and you've discovered bed bugs in an early stage and it's not a big infestation yet, I highly recommend that you watch Mark Rober's bed bug video and follow it religiously. Buy bed bug traps for your bed, encase your bed in a high quality bed mattress cover, apply diatomaceous earth powder in a thin layer around your room (please wear a N95 mask and do your best not to inhale any of it), etc. Follow everything in that video before your bed bug problem becomes an infestation. Please watch that video. It will do you justice. If you caught your bed bug problem too late, you'll need a professional. In other words, not this guy. He might have good reviews for other pests, but he has absolutely no idea what he's doing in regards to bed bugs. He's afraid of them. He ain't gonna help you. And then I would get a text saying a technician would be to my house a few days later. I don't remember agreeing to this, as I only have an ant issue in the summers. It was impossible to get in touch with anyone to cancel (I guess) the membership I unknowingly signed up for. After calling 5 different numbers, and leaving 2 voicemails, I was finally able to get a lovely lady on the phone who helped me cancel my membership and cancel the appointment for Monday that I was made aware of on Friday... 3 stars bc the technicians solved my ant problem, but I didn't agree to a monthly charge and monthly visits year long. They also make it difficult to cancel your service. Edit: I told the lady over the phone yesterday I wanted the service today cancelled. She confirmed it was cancelled. They showed up at my home anyway and sprayed the outside without my consent. So on top of being charged $31.99 for October, I had to pay an additional $66 to close out my account since they performed a quarterly service even though I left voicemails to cancel and it was confirmed cancelled by whoever I talked to on the phone yesterday.

I was not home at the time and my wife put me on the phone with the tech who apologized and said "you were probably sent a confirmation via text or email. It looks like it's been a busy week for you though so no worries if you missed it". I did not, in fact, miss any confirmation, since none was sent. When I called Cowleys to inquire what happened, they said they don't actually confirm these visits - they just show up?? But then why would you knock on my door if you don't need anyone to be present? This is WILDLY unprofessional behavior - not just showing up unannounced with chemicals in a home with a newborn, but then trying to gaslight me for your lack of communication. The entire phone call felt like the rep was annoyed at me and she did absolutely nothing to help beyond adding me to a "list" where they would notify me to confirm future visits. I've received confirmation from them in the past, so I don't know what happened on their end, but I cancelled my service with the rep immediately. What a waste of money this whole ordeal was.
