I had a piercing done here that is widely known to be in an uncomfortable place/very painful and Morgan was very accommodating to my nerves and was extremely friendly, even when my friend decided last minute that she also wanted a piercing done. It was past closing time, and Morgan was happy to do it for her. She took her time explaining after care and cleaning for the piercings, and she was very diligent about changing her gloves and making sure everything she touched was clean. I've been wanting a tattoo for years and finally decided to get one for myself as a birthday gift. I read great reviews about this place and was very impressed with the level of cleanliness, professionalism and quality. Amanda, the artist, squeezed me in since I didn't make an appointment but was patient and thorough. I told her I had some allergy concerns and she answered all my questions. And when I told her I was nervous about the pain, she ran the tattoo needle over my skin first without ink so I could decide if it was something I could handle. It was pretty painless and 20 minutes later I had my tattoo and Amanda was walking me through after care instructions. After a bad reaction to a cartilage piercing I had gotten at a different place, I came here to get it checked out. I regret not coming here in the first place. I walked in without an appointment and was seen immediately. Morgan was the one who helped me out and she was great. She switched it out to a titanium piece, painlessly might I add, and was super nice and helpful the entire time. Without a doubt, I'll be coming back to New Jersey to get my next piercings done (and perhaps my next tattoo as well). Their location is super clean and accessible, and the prices are so reasonable! Morgan was AMAZING! I am older (mid 40s) and wanted my helix (re)pierced and possibly my tragus. Morgan was very professional and friendly, taking the time to discuss everything with me as much as I wanted and to answer all my questions (including stupid ones like will it hurt and do I have enough cartilage to even do it). She determined that my helix piercing was still open so she pushed through and inserted the jewelry I'd chosen, rather than upselling to a full piercing. She was honest about the tragus and ultimately did an amazing job with minimal pain and a quick but professional piercing so I didn't suffer! I will definitely go back to Morgan to change my jewelry and in the (probably unlikely but you never know) event I decide I want more piercings. Cannot recommend enough! read more

I wanted to create a nice experience for my friend and I since she was coming from out of state and wanted to get a tattoo with me. We found one of Evolvink's artists on social media and figured she would be a good choice for our visions. However this turned out to be the worst interaction/experience I personally have ever had with an artist or a shop and my friend's experience with this artist and shop was even worse! We both had filled out the specific online form for the artist we wanted and we both received emails from her after she received our forms. She had asked my friend a few questions about her sketch and then approved my friend's piece and gave her a date and time pretty much within 10 mins of us both sending our forms. After she had initially emailed me and asked me some questions about my piece I responded with a detailed description of my idea along with reference images only to be told by the artist that my reference images did not go together and she clearly did not read my initial form or my detailed email. Once I emailed back and explained again my idea and assured her the reference images did in fact go together she completely ghosted me and I never heard from her again. I'm so glad I found another artist/shop that was able to capture my vision perfectly instead of dealing with someone who clearly lacks manners or the ability to just say "I don't think I'll be able to do this". In addition to this, when my friend finally came and was excited for her appointment, she ended up cancelling her appointment and leaving disappointed and very uncomfortable with her interaction with the same artist. I'm truly baffled by the unprofessionalism and honestly the attitude of this artist and how this shop is run. Your best off finding an artist/shop that actually communicates with you about your idea and actually seems to care about their clients because this is DEFINITELY not that kind of shop. read more

My friends and I wanted to get our noses pierced on a SUNDAY, so we called this shop and Mike was able to fit all four of us into his book that day. The shop is very clean, welcoming, and LARGE. Everyone we interacted with was extremely professional and friendly, and let me tell ya, the group of people I came with is quite a rambunctious bunch. We were comfortable the entire time and accommodated if needed. My double nose ring looks EXCELLENT, Mike was able to match the guage size up perfectly to what was already there. It's so heartening to see that Morristown has "evolved" to include this lovely salon for tattoos and piercings. I went through the sample books for the on-site artists and was dazzled -- I will be back for ink soon. The reason I came in, though, was that I needed to either remove or hide most of my piercings for nursing school, and the piercing professional had everything I needed and very good advice. She also discussed piercings with my daughter and told us everything we needed to know about minors getting piercings (even in regular ol' earlobes) in the future. I grew up in Morristown but lived for many years in the Bay Area, and everyone in the East Bay went to this one similar salon in Berkeley to get their kids' ears pierced. It was like a funky rite of passage, and I was sad to leave that place (Zebra Tattoo, if you're curious). It made me feel a million times better to know that we have a similar option on the east coast. Only thing I'd change is the logo. easy to make an appointment, only problem is they told me one hour for two tattoos, which is kinda ridiculous but i didn't question it. obviously we go over one hour and the guy i had, dennis, started rushing because he has another appointment. the work looks good i won't lie but it's not like it was a super fun and friendly experience. the guy barely spoke, i don't know if he was having a bad day but when you work with people it doesn't hurt to lighten up a little. as soon as i walked in i felt like they were trying to get rid of me. also one of my tattoos isn't centered the way i wanted and the artist literally couldn't care less. it looks like a well done tattoo but i wanted to change the position and he just kept telling me that no it's fine, should've listened to my gut. you could tell he wasn't focused on me and just wanted to get to the next appointment. very clean studio, talented people, and even a nice waiting room but yet i didn't feel valued as a customer AT ALL. it's disappointing, because when you're spending this much time and money you don't want to be rushed. read more

came here for a naval piercing, it was alright. i called beforehand to make sure they had the specific barbell i wanted and they said they could do it, but when it came time to pierce, the piercer said they couldn't do it. piercing seem a little crooked, but that could just be the jewelry's positioning on my anatomy. very clean and professional staff, extremely friendly. im planning on going back to get my nipples pierced, will definitely be writing another review. read more

The unprofessionalism and rudeness by one of Evolvink's artist completely ruined my tattoo experience and made me extremely uncomfortable. I was looking forward to this appointment that I had made over 2 months ago. I didn't receive any type of communication from the artist or even the studio until the day before when they wanted to give me a covid screen. I let the studio know that I hadn't heard anything from my artist about a sketch or overall anything about my appointment really and got a casual response of "oh I don't know what's going on with her". They also had told me the day before that the artist was injured and possibly wouldn't even be able to keep my appointment but they would let me know. I finally received a sketch from the artist late in the evening a day before and tried to make some adjustments to the sketch only to not receive any response again. After experiencing this so far and feeling extremely disappointed before even coming to my appointment I ended up asking to cancel and for a refund. I arrived to the shop to get my refund but then the artists decided she would email me after I left to ask why I had cancelled the appointment and to let me know that the artists at this shop don't usually provide sketches beforehand and will usually do them the day of. No one had mentioned this and I have never experienced anything like this with any other shop I've been to. Artists are supposed to communicate with their clients and make sure that everything is ready for the appointment before the actual day and if they aren't willing to except feedback on their sketches they shouldn't approve the appointment. I'm truly disappointed due to the unprofessionalism/ lack of empathy from the artist. I was truly looking forward to this, and not being from the area and flying out specifically for this artist to now having to go home feeling uncomfortable and drained from this entire ordeal is not how any client should feel. read more

I had an incredible experience here! Mike did my piercings. A year ago I had ripped an earring out and had reconstructive ear lobe surgery. I went to another shop in the area and didn't feel comfortable with the piercing guy. He said he didn't have much experience with what I needed done. I walked into evolv Friday night and Mike sat with me and checked out what I needed done. I came back Saturday and he remembered me and took amazing care of me. He has a ton of experience piercing on skin that had been reconstructed. I will recommend this shop to everyone!!! They are fantastic!! Amazing! I had been looking for a new piercing studio close to home and stumbled across the great reviews here on Yelp while doing my research, so I decided to give Evolvink a try. Now I understand what everyone is raving about! When I entered the shop, I was immediately greeted by a super sweet girl at the front desk (I'm sorry, I forgot your name!) who helped me get set up with paperwork. I sat in their lounge area for probably no more than 10 minutes while I waited for my turn with the piercer. (The lounge was very cozy... lots of plush couches and fun bean bag chairs!) Mike did my septum piercing and he was incredible. He had an enormous attention to detail and before doing the actual piercing, he spent a good amount of time examining the build of my nose (which, to my surprise, is actually quite unique) to make sure that everything would look right. I've had a few piercings done in the past and I don't think anyone has ever been so conscientious with me. Mike was kind, soft-spoken, and gentle. He gave clear after-care instructions when we were done. The whole experience was just perfect. It was the most comfortable I've ever been inside a piercing or tattoo studio. This place is a breath of fresh air. Will definitely be coming back. read more

I can't say enough about my experience here. I've had this idea for a memorial flower sleeve for the past five years and I have been searching for the right artist and studio (I wasn't in love with the other studios in nj) finally a friend recommended evolveink to me and I casually stopped in (BEST DECISION EVER) when I walked in I was greeted by Hogie and he explain EVERYTHING to me. I was so nervous and unsure but he quickly made me feel like I was making a solid decision. He showed me Amanda's work and I was sold. Later that day I gave her my pics of the flowers I wanted and asked her to sketch something's out and I left a deposit. My appointment today was beyond my wildest dreams. My friend and I came in and Amanda sketched out the flowers and gave me her opinion on her where they should go. She designed the whole sleeve and couldn't have been happier with it. We started it today and got through the first three flowers. I was freaked out about it because It was my first tattoo and immediately she put me at ease and I was able to finish the session with very little pain. I came here for my first tattoo with Amanda. I knew I wanted something with a floral design with clean line work so I came here and picked her and she totally delivered. The place is clean, bright with a great layout that makes you feel very relaxed. I had a septum piercing done here before Christmas. The studio is clean, and the staff is friendly; however, the skill in piercing is not there. The septum piercing came out crooked and misplaced--the ring should have been placed higher and closer to the tip of my nose. When I eventually changed the jewelry, I saw that an externally threaded ring had been used, and to my knowledge, externally threaded jewelry is no longer used by piercers because the threads are harsh on newly forming fistulas. I was also told by the piercer to clean the piercing with antibacterial soap and to apply Bacitracin, both of which are outdated practices. Please refer to the Association of Professional Piercers for a reputable, trained piercer (btw there are only four in New Jersey!). I learned the hard way--now I have to get my septum re-pierced properly. read more

Everyone there was very kind and after a short wait I was pierced by the owner, Mike. He was so kind and professional and he answered all of my questions that I had. He was also really fun and easy to talk to during the whole procedure which helped a bit to calm my nerves. He also kinda walked me through everything he was doing and he was letting me know what he was about to do before he did it which I really appreciated. After everything was said and done I found that their prices are quite reasonable as well which was sort of the icing on top of the cake! I had been recommended by quite a few friends about this place so I had no doubt it would live up to my expectations, which it did!
