Danny is by far the best tattoo artist I've ever worked with!!  He made the whole experience fun and comfortable, which is just an added plus to his beautiful work.  I contacted Danny to get a tattoo I had been wanting for a while, but it had a special meaning to me.  He was so respectful and kind during our consult and his excitement for the project just made me even more excited than I already was. All my sessions felt like I was just hanging out with a friend, laughing and chatting.   The result of my half sleeve was breathtaking!!  He even gave me a fun aftercare kit.  It has a special salve that goes on so smooth and perfect for those initial painful healing days.  A bunch of cool stickers, and samples of Aquaphor and alcohol wipes, which are perfect on the go or in a pinch.  One of my faves is the pen in the kit.  I'm just a dork for promotional pens, but this one was really nice and had a purpose.  The back of the package has a fun checklist to go through.  Some of which include a newsletter to sign up for, money towards your next tattoo if you leave a great review, and much more.  All in all, Pure Ink is amazing.  The staff is always friendly and the facility is always clean.  I will definitely be returning and have already started planning my next tattoo with Danny.  He is AMAZING and worth every penny.  Don't do what I did and cheap out on a tattoo.  I had to get 2 cover-ups and it was still hideous, but then Danny fixed it for me and you would never know it was a cover-up.   It just looks like beautiful art. I got my tattoo with John and had two consultations before my tattoo date where I was not permitted to see my design but was assured it would be just what I wanted. Day of the tattoo, I am given a design that looks absolutely nothing like my request. I let him know and he pulled up another one that was similar to what I wanted which had obviously been used for another client. So I guess I have the same tattoo as someone else who went to Pure Ink. Lack of planning and attention to my design request was poor. Actual tattoo was decent but not for the price. read more

WOW! I just had a coverup done in the middle of my sleeve that at least 5 other artists wouldn't touch due to the difficulty. Danny did an outstanding job, he listened to exactly what I wanted and then I let him do his thing. He did not disappoint at all! I'm beyond happy with the results so far. I had to re schedule my apartment twice because of the pandemic then when they called me the day before my tattoo appointment witch I didn't know was the next day because I never got the text reminder or email like I asked for I told them I couldn't come because of having to get another Covid test the day of the appointment. They took my deposit. I asked multiple times to see my tattoo design before I would go in to get it because it is on you for life they said I would see it the day before come to find out that the artist was calling me to draw it up not even 24 hours before I was getting it. Update** Be friends with these guys on Facebook, they run awesome specials if you want to get a small piece or some lettering. Yesterday my friend saw that one of the guys was running a 5 letter special for $40, $10 for additional letters and she had a few things she wanted to get, plus we wanted to get some highfiving cat tattoos (see pics) so we said why not. Ian was running the special so we stopped in and saw him and got started. He was a nice guy and even got a bit parental on us about putting a tattoo on our hand---I give him props for being realistic but we opted to get them anyway. He was pleasant and I'd go see him again, his portfolio on their website isn't updated so don't be scared away by that, go see his art if you're interested. The other artists were all floating around the shop and were quite entertaining. The owner was bouncing around as well and bought my friend a coffee (whatta guy). So this is my second experience at Pure Ink and I'd say I'm a fan, I think they're great guys and I will def check them out for my next serious tattoo. Also--if you are interesting in getting a large piece or a drawing done, call ahead of time and see if the artist you want is available. They have a lot of guys working there and they will take walk-ins but if they're busy obv they can't see you....but they are worth it so just make the call. I'm so glad that tattoo shops are finally nice places to go to---no longer the days of walking into a private club type atmosphere being treated like crap, scraped with a needle, and sent on your way. Keep in mind we opted for a very simple stick figure drawing so go and look at Shawn's actual portfolio cuz this is obviously not representative of his abilities as an artist. He called us around 6 because he had a cancellation so we were able to get in a little earlier (sweet). I visited Pure Ink for the first time this past weekend for my second tattoo. The shop is super clean, great atmosphere, comfortable waiting couches, and lovely interior design. I made an appointment with Mike Lopez for my tattoo and he was exceptional! He was so kind, understanding, took his time, and made sure I was comfortable the whole way through. My tattoo was a big one so it took about 5 hours, but the time really flew by. My tattoo came out better than I could have ever imagined and I was so impressed by Mike's technique and the fact that he kept going back in to add more details and colors, even when the tattoo looked like it was ready to go. I appreciate all of the time he took to make it exactly what I envisioned and more and I will absolutely be coming back to Pure Ink and to a Mike Lopez again soon! read more

I had an awesome experience with these guys. I have two swallow tattoos on my hips (which I got in college and are really bad, haha) and I wanted them to be holding a banner that stretched across my lower back, with wording on the banner. I researched the artists beforehand and they all seemed awesome. When I went in, the guy at the desk was really friendly and asked if there was an artist in particular I wanted. I said anyone was fine, and he gave me to Danny Mack. Danny was super cool and helped me out with the banners, and with a larger piece I will want done later. In the consultation we went over every last detail, like what style the banners should be in and whether I wanted the letters filled in or not. He quadruple-checked the wording and spelling to make sure it was exactly right. I made my appointment for a few days later. Danny was super fast, very reasonably-priced (but not "cheap" of course), and VERY GOOD, which usually don't all go together. He isn't chatty but that was fine, he was there to do his job and I appreciated his concentration. He did joke around and made me feel comfortable and made fun of my bad tattoos with me, but wasn't mean about it, which I appreciated, haha. The large banners all across my back (I refuse to call them a tramp stamp) ended up looking fantastic and took a little over 2 hours. I get tons of compliments on the banners and I tell everyone where to go. I will definitely be going back for more work later. read more

I am always greeted with a huge smile and conversation asking about my week (most recently me holiday) and what I am doing next (I am working on a sleeve). I see Ian who is incredible. The front desk staff was pretty rude and acted like they did not want to help you. I believe that the overall vibe of a shop is influenced by your front desk staff and they have very low quality desk workers. She had a massive attitude and acted like she was a better human being then me... which was just weird. The shop itself was very clean which was great! It was light and airy so this was fantastic. It is comfortable and I would be comfortable walking in there again! Overall 3/5 stars because there are pros but the biggest con is the terrible and rude front desk staff. read more

I decided to get my nipples pierced since it was Friday the 13th and they were having a special. I was extremely nervous since it was the piercer and his apprentice who were in the room, so I asked my friend to come with me. The experience was still extremely uncomfortable and the piercer was not so friendly. He also didn't do such a great job, one of the piercings is higher than the other, and one is pierced farther apart than the other. It is a noticeable difference, will not be coming back here again and don't recommend anyone to go! read more

Got my nose piercing here with a groupon. Bad idea. Receptionist girl was awesome but the piercer was scary, unfriendly and completely ruined my piercing. First of all, he kept rolling his eyes at my friend who was afraid of getting her cartilage pierced. Then he put a HUGE hoop on my nostril which is a big no-no. It was not meant to be a nostril ring. I looked like a cow. It was so bad and I was so embarrassed that I thought of immediately ripping it out. Luckily I found an amazing parlor who was willing to replace the horrendous atrocity with a stud for no charge. I am never coming back here ever again. read more

If half a star or no star was an option I would go for that. It all started when an inexperienced artist completely botched my design. The owner was nice enough to fix it for no charge. But now both of my appointments have been canceled. I waited 6 weeks. Just to be told I have to wait another 6 after that, just to be told to I have to wait another two weeks!!!. And now I have a botched tattoo on my chest with no real urgency to fix it. Would not recommend. read more

This isn't my usual tattoo spot so I cheated a little bit on my artist but I'm pretty happy with the affair ;) Anyway, the place is impeccable. It's beautiful, clean, welcoming, relaxed. Everyone that works there was incredibly friendly. I'd never been but went with a friend after we saw a promo on Facebook and figured it was absolutely time we got out high fiving stick figure cat tattoos. (I also wanted some lettering.) Dunkin is next door, so someone left donuts for all to enjoy. At some point during the session, the owner went to get coffee and even got me one, his treat! Super nice. We were there a couple of hours, but not necessarily because it took that long but because Ian tattooed me and though he's younger and new, he has a lot of potential. I'm happy with his pieces on me though I can see how some of his line work needs a little work. I'd likely come back. I've only seen pictures of the other guys' work and it looks unbelievable. I enjoyed his choice of music, too, and how each artist had an individual room. Again, super, super, super clean. Very professional and by the book but still friendly and funny. When I arrived, I signed the release and sat down for a moment. I was called into the room no more than five minutes later. My piercer, Bobby G, was awesome to talk to and made the experience stress-free. I also got a chance to look at his tattoo work, which I was very impressed with. I definitely recommend this studio. Great shop I've had 3 tattoos done by them and every artist was professional and really cared about what I was getting and provided feedback to make sure I got the best most artistic tattoos possible. The shop is super clean, all the artists very friendly and personable they never make you feel like you are bothering them at all. I honestly have to say I'm very disappointed with both my experiences at Pure Ink. The first time I ever got a tattoo (and is still my only tattoo,) which was for my 22nd birthday, I chose this place because it was so highly recommended. I even designed my own tattoo which was a half sleeve so it's big and noticeable. Unfortunately, after the outline was done, I then noticed all the hiccups throughout it but waited for the second session to give the artist the benefit of the doubt. I even asked if he knew what he was doing and he assured me he did even though I had to correct him for missing some lines. Well, after the second session the mistakes were still pretty bad and noticeable, the coloring was bad, and overall the line weight throughout the tattoo was shaky and still is. This was my first tattoo and I now have to plan for a coverup sometime in the future because I just can't stand to look at it. Far different quality compared to the portfolio I looked at. Not to mention my boyfriend came in to get a coverup very recently because he already had a bad tattoo and I bought the Black Friday gift cards to see maybe he'd get lucky and have it fixed by someone else there. At first he chose someone different, but the artist reschedule twice and then just wasn't there. I find out after he got his tattoo done it was the same artist that messed up my design. Again, it was a coverup and meant to be fixed. The artist literally just darkened the tattoo now making it harder for my boyfriend to ever get it fixed. It's literally the same thing. It's a symmetrical piece and both sides are so uneven and different. He did not fix it. Huge waste of time and my money again. Artist also failed to respond back to multiple emails my boyfriend had sent to see what was up with the design and the artist never got back to him. Same amount of lack of communication I had received as well. Other than just that one artist and these two experiences, I've heard great things about everyone else, but I do not think I will be returning again. read more

I came here because my daughter wanted to pierce her ear. I would go nowhere else. Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable. They care about doing a great job, and thorough to take the time in every aspect. They go above and beyond. Tina was amazing, and I thank her. Planning for my 3rd tattoo, I stopped by on a whim after a friend who highly recommended this place to "check it out" and was so impressed from the minute I walked in that I had my work done on that first visit. This was my first visit and the place is immaculate, the staff was friendly, helpful and the work they all do is absolutely incredible, true artists! Several friends and co-workers are "regulars" who have had numerous visits there. Easy to access, plenty of parking, reasonably priced and they frequently have fund raising charity events.
