I brought my daughter to get her second ear piercing in each ear. Previously, we had her pediatrician do it and although quick and easy, we needed to bring her back to redo one ear because the locations didn't match. Even after redoing it, the doctor didn't get it quite right. So we looked for somewhere else to go. I called a half a dozen places, and finally realized by doing some digging online that a tattoo/piercing studio has some of the most experienced people doing exactly what we were looking for. Plus, they would have to maintain certain standards to stay in business. So after being recommended to First Place Tattoo, we decided to go there. It's right on Main Street, with big windows in front, and sectional couches in the waiting area. The hours are very convenient, the receptionist exceptionally friendly (I found that out when I called looking for information and to make an appointment, and she confirmed it when we arrived), and overall ambiance of the place was welcoming. To be honest, I was hoping for a woman to do her piercing (she gets nervous around outgoing adult men), and was a little disappointed that the person doing the piercing was a man. That disappointment was soon alleviated when we met Justin. He brought us into a private studio, which was clean, comfortable, and had a number of pictures and posters that made it pretty interesting to be his space. Super friendly guy and he made my daughter (and me) feel completely at ease. He told us what he was going to do, extremely careful in making sure that he located the piercings just right, created the piercing (I think) by hand. It definitely wasn't a piercing gun. But my daughter said it was very comfortable and was very pleased at the outcome. My wife and I have been delaying this second piercing for her for a couple of years, but next year when she turns 18, I'm sure she'll be going back. Overall, while I'm not a tattoo/piercings kind of guy, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. A little more expensive than the places in the mall, but here you're getting a professional that the time to get it right. read more

i wanted a tattoo with Ana. Her page says its about 1 month wait. i saw her work and was excited to have something done with her. Over the summer i filled out the online application, sent examples of what i wanted and a description. I called First Place after about 3 weeks and was told that she moved my art to the want to do folder and i would hear from her by the end of the or by the end of the week. i was very excited because it was earlier then the month wait. I hear nothing. i call back about 2 weeks later. i'm told exactly the same thing. i wait. no phone, no email, no text. I call again, now its another 3 weeks or so Ive lost track of time. I'm told AGAIN she moved my art to the want to folder and i would hear from her by the end of the day or the end of the week the latest. Nothing. Crickets. I call again, today November 17 spoke with Kaitlyn (?) and was told again that she wants to do my tattoo and i would hear from her by the end of the day or by the end of the week. At this point id had enough and told them to forget it. On that same phone call i was offered another tattoo artist. I declined. I dont trust this shop. i wrote a google review. they responded that it was a "misunderstanding" and had they known about the issue they could have resolved it. I'm not sure what "I" was suppose to do. i'm being told for motnhs that shes taking my work and i'm calling but nothing is being done. thats not on me. Ana had my art, she had my contact information and she had it for many months and was obviously looking at it but made no effort to contact me. In the end the artist is responsible not the receptionist or the customer. read more

I recently got my first tattoo here and was really excited about it. I made the appointment 3 weeks prior and came in with a VERY VERY complicated design but wanted it pretty small. Although the design wasn't feasible to do that size, I worked with one of the tattoo artists, Evan Jones, who is incredibly talented and helped me rework my design so that I still loved it and it still had the same feel. When I came in 3 weeks later, he had worked on the design even more, making it better than I could've ever imagined. He is a genuinely nice guy and helped me through the process and created a perfect tiger tattoo with shading beyond compare and that stares straight through your soul. The place itself is so clean and professional, actually if you search it in google maps there is a virtual tour of the place. All the people here are so nice and so professional and there's always something to look at and talk to them about. For any tattoo, especially the 1st tattoo, I would highly recommend this place. Get Evan (everybody refers to him as Ev) because he really is amazing and keeps you calm during the whole process, and makes sure that your tat is really a timeless piece and not just a plain tattoo. read more
