I was familiar with the Ink Witch studio from a prior visit when I was expertly inked by the proprietor, Meryl, who designed and applied what remains my favorite tattoo. Julia elevated the customer experience tremendously. She was friendly, welcoming and professional. Julia's hospitality provided an emotionally, spiritually and hygienically safe space. She was calm, focused and efficient. I got lettering in sensitive places on both arms, and Julia was patient, understanding and thorough. I have never been happy with a tattoo artist. I have never been thrilled with a tattoo; they have always be an approximation of what I pictured in my mind. Awesome experience and excellent result!!! I worked with Julia on the design for the tattoo I envisioned. Julia was kind and patient with me as we discussed my thoughts and ideas, and she took the scattered thoughts I had and developed an amazing design. (Julia is an ARTIST with AMAZING SKILLS!) Julia has a quick wit, and even though she is EXTREMELY FOCUSED while working, she was able to engage in light banter throughout the 2 1/2 hour process - which helped me relax and enjoy getting my first tattoo. Meryl, the owner, is inviting, and she and Julia promptly and truthfully answered the wide variety of questions I asked. The Ink Witch Shop is located in downtown Stroudsburg in a repurposed building which used to be a bar. Street parking is readily available. The shop is quaint and compact with an easy-going vibe that kind of hides the seriousness with which the three artists approach their work. Well it took me many years to work up the nerve to get a tattoo and I could not have chosen a better artist than Meryl at Inkwitch after my daughter had two beautiful tattoos done by her. I got my 1st tattoo Sept 8 2018 at InkWitch.I had Kitty she was not only a superb tattoo artist,she is also a wonderful lady.I wanted a butterfly in memory of my mother,who had passed away.She gave me a beautiful butterfly.When I look at it,I feel my mother close to my heart.I was nervous in the first days afterwards,never having a tattoo,not knowing 1st hand what exactly to expect.She told me,it's just seeing it for urself was different.When I called being nervous,she was very reassuring,as was another lady I had spoken to there. Practice a certain level of caution when getting tattooed at this shop. The artists are not fully vaccinated. In addition, the chance of tattoo infection is higher than elsewhere because of the decades-old wall-to-wall carpeting. (Which is against OSHA guidelines, because it readily absorbs bodily fluids which are the primary vector for infection via cross-contamination). In addition, the ceiling leaks from unknown sources in the apartment above...I saw tarps covering the computers and other sensitive equipment. read more

My fiancé and I were in the Poconos for a little vacation, and his bright idea lets get new tattoos. Of course I was excited since I have been dying to get some new ink. I looked up local shops and Inkwitch came up, I read it was a all woman shop and being the jealous type I originally skipped over it. After calling another shop and being totally turned off by the chick who very nastily answered the phone I said I'm gonna call Inkwitch. I'm so HAPPY I did!! They were the nicest people on the phone & when we get there even more welcoming. Meryl did a small foot piece in memory of my grandma and kitty did 2 small cover ups on my fiancé everything came out awesome... Oh and this was only day 1. We went back the next day for Meryl to do a kick butt job on a large cover up for my fiancé! Anyone in the Pocono area I highly recommend these women they are awesome at what they do!!!! As a jaded Manhattanite, I am all about convenience - I rarely commute. Yet, i just returned from Stroudsburg PA with another tattoo done by my favorite tattooer, Meryl. Even years later, the vivid coloration and complexity of her work turns heads regularly. My most recent piece was located in a traditionally difficult spot (chest/sternum), but Meryl's lighthanded touch made it bearable. Just a few days ago my boyfriend and I went on vacation in the poconos and I had been thinking about getting a tattoo for the first time of the ying yang sign broken up down my spine. I found inkwitch and had a good feeling about going, I met Kitty and she was shocked I wanted my first down my spine (so was I! While my first experience here was a good one, I was disappointed when I went back for another tattoo. I had a text tattoo I wanted to get, but upon showing them, they insisted that it needed to be blown up bigger. The text was already larger than the text they did on my previous tattoo, so I saw no reason why it should be blown up further. The extra cost didn't help either. We wound up finding another tattoo artist, however, Inkwitch was kind enough to give my deposit back (a practice that I KNOW isnt the norm) so I was thankful. read more
