I've been recommended to Evolve Skin Care by a friend and I'm so grateful that I found this place and Ms Josefina!! For 7 years since I moved to New York from Europe I've been constantly looking for a place that meet my high standards when it comes to waxing and I finally found it!! My skin is extra sensitive and I need someone with a great technique when it comes to anything skin related, waxing included. I used to frequent a European wax place, but despite their pricey services, I was not quite happy with the overall results (nor their technique :// ). Evolve Skin Care felt more like a visit to a dermatologist specialist (even though I went there for a full body waxing!) The receptionist took my temperature and an entire COVID-19 protocol, which made me feel safe from the very start. Then Ms Josefina, who wore a mask and face shield the entire time during the appointment, assured me she purifies the air in the room between appointments. My anxiety and guilt for deciding to go to a salon post quarantine was instantly diminished. I expected that the experience is going to be super painful considering that I haven't waxed since March, but her technique is so incredible that I barely felt anything! I honestly don't know where to begin, my all around experience at Evolve skin care was nothing short of perfect. I must admit I was a bit hesitant to call, being that she didn't have any yelp reviews, but after seeing the amazing response she received from her clients on google I decided to give her a call. And lucky for me she had an opening that very same day. I'm in love with decor and ambience of the spa. Josephina makes it her duty to make you feel at home and comfortable. Now I've been to a few spas in my days and I can honestly say this was by far the best service I've received thus far. Not only was my experience relaxing but I walked away with my face feeling renewed. Evolve Skin Care is conveniently located by the 7train 52-Lincoln Ave station, steps away from the 53rd street Roosevelt Ave exit. Upon entering the 2nd floor, Josephina (owner and esthetician) welcomes you and brings you to her treatment room which is cozy and charming. I was scheduled for a facial, something I have not treated myself to in a while. Keeping this in mind, she took me through the facial step by step ensuring my comfort and educating me on how to improve my skin care routine. At no point during the session was I ever pressured to buy something or buy a package. She was well informed in her field and a truly put her heart into her art. Josefina was referred to me by a friend and I certainly did not regret going for a facial! I thought my skin is hopeless but after meeting Josefina, my face was rejuvenated! She's heaven sent! She explains thoroughly what your face/skin needs and how to take care of it. Josefina is amazing. I booked my appointment for a chemical peel to treat dark spots from acne and sun damage. She evaluated my skin, made me feel very comfortable and informed me on what to expect from the peel. My skin is sensitive and very pale. I had slight redness as expected and my skin felt so rejuvenated after the peel. She is very knowledgeable and educated me on what to do for my type of skin. The decor in her spa is so beautiful.
