What a hoot! I had a smile on my face from the moment we walked in til we left. There's nothing like being time warped into the 1970s and watching old cartoons and advertisements on the TVs while eating your dinner or having a drink. Everything from the color scheme to the light fixtures to the trinkets collected behind the bar screams 1970s, and made for a fun, goofy, comforting nostalgia. We started with drinks at the bar while we waited for a table. They have a good selection of local brews as well as cocktails. Even the names of the drinks made me smile. I got the "dirty shiddy martini." Then we moved to our table in the "rumpus room." The menu is no-frills and straightforward. Not a ton of options, but you're there for a burger! They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options to make everyone happy. We each got a burger Alabama style, split some fries with "flat sauce," and added a giant pickle on a stick for shids and giggles. Delicious, it all hit the spot! Staff is friendly and quick. It will be busy when you go so just enjoy the experience!

However, it was clean. Service for Good Friday was terrible. Simply not enough servers for the amount of people. It was slow the other time too, but not as bad as Good Friday. Service was okay once we were able to get someone. The kitchen was backed up as well, so it took a long time for our food to come out. Food was good. Although I found the batter this time to be too doughy, but pleasant enough. There also was a burger which was delicious. Fries were tasty and thick cut. I will definately come here again to try out more of the food. I think this will be a crowd favourite for a watering hole.

I got the Saturday special which was the beef dip and my friend ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries!! Food was great, the fries here are amazing, crispy on the outside and tender and soft on the inside,,, never been frozen and fresh as can be!! Beer on tap was nice and cold especially coming in from the heat outside!! Our server was great, friendly and helpful,, it was her first day and she did very well, thanks Maude for your service your friendliness and smile made our visit even more special!! We came here for an after dinner cocktail on a Friday night and enjoyed the ambiance, vibes and drinks. The service was great too. I had the 124 street which was very tasty and delicious, while my husband had the prairie old fashioned. Both cocktails were top notch. We'd like to come back to try some food next time. A mix of hipster cool and classic. I also love a restaurant that does a good Christmas tree. It made it feel festive and cozy. Our server was bubbly and kind. Really enjoyed her service. She was helpful in picking out things for us to try. The menu is diverse, and pretty much has something for everyone. And we happened to score on Happy Hour which was some good eats for an affordable price. What we chose from the Happy Hour Menu Korean Fried Chicken Brusell Sprouts Sparrow Tots Arancini All these were 9 dollars. We also chose two happy hour drink specials for 9 bucks Spicy Sparrow and the Old Fashion We also had the Beef Short Ribs with gnocci and the date pudding. Food was really delicious. I liked everything. The beef short ribs with gnocci were probably our favourite but not a deal. All the happy hour things were tasty. The big surprise was the Korean Fried Chicken which had a great mix of sweet and spicy. The Sparrow tots were great too. The only thing I would not reorder is the date pudding. This was a dime a dozen. Nothing standoutish and could get a great bread pudding at many pubs for cheaper. Try this place. Especially at their Golden Hour.

B Street Bar Wood-Oven Pizza - Cevapi lunch (and dinner too!) Macedonian side salad.

And as far as I know there isn't another place that serves this type of food. So we went in. It is confusing. There are a lot of TVs everywhere, but there is also some black and white photos, and some striking red accents, which could have been though of as a classy touch. Because there was both, it just seemed to muddle each other. Menu is pretty pubish. They do have Macedonian sausages (chevapy) and a Macedonian pizza and salad. They had a rather large selection of pizzas too and boast a wood fire oven. We decided to split the chevapy and the Macedonian pizza (veggie - red onions, peppers, olives, tomatos and spinach). Server was friendly but sometimes hard to flag down. Food came in a decent time and was tasty. I really loved the cheese and veggies that came with the sausage. The sausage itself was good, but maybe a little too lean and rubbery. The pizza was excellent (except for my husband who wanted meat lol). The toppings were fresh and plentiful, and the crust was thin and crispy. I would definately come here again and try other things on the menu. Definately come here for the pizza especially if you like a thin crust.

From their instagram you would think this place is a cute little neighourhood pizza place, but it is actually just a pub. I really mean that, just a pub. It is actually quite rough on the inside too I was a bit shocked. When we walked up we noticed like 5 people smoking in front of it all standing in super close proximity, that maybe should have been an indicator of what to expect. So we walk in and the environment is very pubby. Think like the Rendezvous Pub or Shanks, maybe? We opted to sit outside because we noticed that people were walking around without masks. We also noticed that there was a contact tracing sheet on a little table by the door, but it hadn't been filled out since March 13!! So this place probably isn't observing covid protocol. Which was confirmed, when our waitress had her mask not covering her nose, was constantly removing it to talk to us, and then... get this, when we were paying she asked us what we thought about the "mask thing." Other than the comments and lack of mask, the waitress was nice and attentive. I think maybe if covid wasn't a thing she would be fine. But the atmosphere, staff, and guests had us rushing out of there though. Really hope we didn't just give ourselves covid-19. Another interesting comment she made was by telling us flat out that the pizza bread was not good. We didn't get it, but for anyone reading, it's not good. Maybe she saved us a few bucks lol. We got Nachos and the Mediterranean Pizza. As you see from the photo, the nachos looked extremely unappealing. Thankfully, they just tasted like normal nachos. The pizza was just OK. The bottom was very hard. I get that they're from a wood-oven, but the slices were more like crackers. The pizza was better than the nachos, but we didn't finish either dish. Our waitress asked us if we wanted a to-go box and it was a no from us. The total was about $56 for the nachos, pizza, and three drinks. So not too bad, but really, probably could have had a safer and more delicious experience at BPs. Do I regret going? No. Will I come back? No.

Searching for someplace to go for a girls night out on the town? Look no further than Dolly's…read moreCocktail Bar! Slap on your sparkly dress and a pair of heels (or wear whatever the heck you want) and make your way to Downtown's pink palace! You'll remember this location as the former home of Fu's Repair Shop and Prairie Fish & Chips before that. The Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list named Dolly's as Favourite Patio and the pictures that I've seen of the back terrace look completely adorable, complete with colourful lanterns. Unfortunately, my visit was in October and it wasn't quite patio weather anymore. I turned up on a Friday evening with one of my best girlfriends in tow and we were ready for the biggest Barbiecore night of our lives! Imagine our surprise when we discovered that Dolly's had been transformed into the "Black Lagoon" for the month of October in the spirit of Halloween. (I probably should have looked into this in advance but I was unaware!) I was expecting Cyndi Lauper and Aqua but instead I got Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. The whole restaurant was draped in the most spider webs that I've ever seen. There were giant spiders hanging from the ceiling and spooky skeletons in every corner. It was a vibe, that's for sure!! But certainly not the one that I had been anticipating. Bits of pink paint and sparkly chandeliers peeked through in some areas and the neon "Dolly's" sign on the wall allowed me to imagine what the Barbie dreamhouse-esque space normally looks like just a little bit. Otherwise, Dolly's was fully transformed into the moody Black Lagoon. I should've worn fishnets instead of glitter. The servers were all very friendly and we were quickly seated at a comfortable table along the hot pink velour banquette. Dolly's invites you to sip, snack, and stay in their minor-free glamorous escape. The house cocktails and mocktails are a major part of the experience (it is a cocktail bar after all) and I was excited to get a cute pink beverage into my hand! There was also a menu of Black Lagoon-themed cocktails that were all served in fun tiki-style vessels. This menu included themed foods as well. I personally had my eye on the Pink Palace Royale cocktail which I saw on the menu online. Made with a special collab gin with Strathcona Spirits and Licor 43 (one of my favourite liqueurs), this sounded like everything that I wanted in a cocktail and more! Other drinks had names like Dolly's Dreamhouse, Bubbilicious, and the house shot was called the Bend & Snap - exactly the sort of drinks that I had come for! However, I was sorely disappointed when the server told me that the drink I wanted was no longer on the menu. It seemed that I could only order a Halloween beverage. I fumbled to find anything that Elle Woods would approve of and settled on a mocktail called Pretty in Pink (Strawberry, cream of coconut, lime, soda, mint - $9.00) and the server suggested that the bar could add vanilla vodka to turn it into a proper cocktail. I agreed. Honestly, I was just relieved to get something pink onto the table! I enjoyed this icy-fresh cocktail a lot and it delivered most of what I had been hoping for. The sweetness of the strawberry and coconut was really fun! The lime and mint added a mojito flair. A very cute and well-composed beverage but I was sad that most of the girly drinks didn't seem to be available. When it comes to eats at Dolly's the food is what you would expect to see at a party, with the idea of sharing at the heart. I loved the idea of Dolly's Funhouse (which is an epic plate of nachos), and dishes like wings, tacos, and mac & cheese. However, the dish to order at Dolly's has gotta be the Girl Dinner (Truffle tots, chickie tendies, aji verde, aji rocoto, pineapple sweet & sour, Dolly's salad - $50.00 for two). It's a must-share so grab your girlies and prepare to chow down! They had me at tots. The Girl Dinner platter arrived looking extremely appetizing and somehow exactly what I wanted to be eating in a place that looked like this. The portion was exactly right for two people and I loved the pretty floral printed plates that we were given to dish our tots and tendies onto. As previously mentioned, I enjoy a tot. (I have a suspicion that Napoleon Dynamite really imprinted on me.) But truffle tots? Now that's just a home run! Topped with sea salt, truffle oil, and parmesan cheese, these golden potato nuggets were fried to perfection with a crispy outside and a soft and fluffy inside. I could have eaten them all. They were awesome to dunk into each of the sauces and when the rest of the food was gone we were still popping tots into our mouths. We couldn't even finish them all because the portion was so generous! The star of the meal were the chickie tendies; two giant chicken tenders, of which we each got our own. I loved this chicken! The batter was really flavourful and unique, and oh so crispy-crunchy. The chicken within was very tender and juicy, proving that an elevated chicke
