One of my friends suggested to go there for beer and wings! The place is ok and has the usual bar atmosphere! Can't really comment about the beer since it's the same anywhere you go! :) The food was not bad but nothing special! The pretzel wasn't the best! Customer service was a bit slow! Pretty typical pub type place. Excellent value at Happy Hour which apparently everyone was there for cause the place cleared out pretty quick afterwards. Food was pretty mediocre and came out cold, service was pretty good considering how busy it was. I went to Bend Lounge in Queens for the second time last night. The vibe and drinks were good. However, the staff were very curt and lacked warmth. Once it was nearing the time to leave they started asking people to leave in a rude way. Then the outdoor security woman was extremely rude to a patron as she told him to "get lost!" That same female security guard took my heavy duty pepper spray (provided and needed for work) from my keys and swapped it out for a cheap one she gave back to me at the end. Upon telling her that it was not the one I gave to her she proceeded to check her pockets and then tell me "That's the only one I confiscated for the night." I usually recommend Bend Lounge to others because of my first experience there but I was very disappointed in last night's experience. I understand taking someone's pepper spray because they're entering a club but swapping it out for a cheaper one is low. Understand that you can be taking the equipment provided to someone for their line of work. In addition, I understand that staff want to go home by a certain time but once patrons are out of the building to come outside and ask them "when will your Uber get there? Can y'all move now?" Is beyond rude and unprofessional. This would be a great spot if they work on their customer service and people's skills. read more

Came here for the second time for food and drinks. Service was impeccable and the food was absolutely divine! My husband and myself both went for the burger and it was so delicious, a proper home made burger that tasted like it was barbecued. The Bend Lounge is a small place in Riverbend that looks a bit high class but the atmosphere is really laid back. It's actually a great place to enjoy some time with friends and catch up over a couple of drinks. The music playing in the background stays in the background and doesn't drown anyone out. The place isn't cheap but most places aren't these days. The service is good and friendly. They are pretty outgoing and leave you alone for the most part. A good place to check out. read more

Came in here the first time and thought the food looked great. Then I tried it. I asked for my burger to be cooked all the way through, as I'm pregnant, and when I had eaten a few bites I noticed it wasn't very warm. I looked down and it was pink. Super scary moment for me. They took it away to cook it more while my husband finished his food. They didn't leave me my side dish, so I sat hungry until it finally came back after he was finished eating. They didn't even bother to read-make or heat my side. It was freezing cold. The service was okay, but the waitress wasn't knowledgeable about the menu or drink selection. She kept "checking" every time we had a question so it took forever to get anything. Debit machine was down so we had to go find an atm. She pointed us across the road, then on our way out we saw there was one in the restaurant. This place just seems poorly managed. read more

The Bend is a cool, little trendy lounge in Riverbend. If you're looking for a cool, chill place to hang out - this is it. It's got a swanky lounge look but it's a really relaxed place. It's not very big but there is a pool table and plenty of seating. I really appreciated the fact that the music was not cranked to a deafening level. For this reason, I think it's the perfect place to grab a drink with friends after work. Along with the swanky look comes the swanky prices. A martini at The Bend will cost you $9.50 which is expensive considering most places have them for about $7.50-$8.00. The nachos were very delicious, but in retrospect, it's difficult to mess up nachos! Our server was not the cheeriest person I've met but she was decent. I've been coming to the Bend for several years. And for a neighbourhood pub in Edmonton you can't really ask for more. They have had several menu changes over the years which are always good. TVs are ample and music is not too loud. When it's busy it can take a while for food to come, but it is always tasty. Serving staff have always been pleasant in my experiences. I have never even to the bar side, only the dining side and pool room. They seem to have karaoke nights, but I have never been on those nights. Overall I highly recommend the bend to anyone looking for a nice evening in a laid back environment with good food. read more

I see a trend in these reviews and agree with the upscale laid back feel. An above average pub style menu with a bit to offer most anyone looking for a something to nosh on. I find the food to be good most of the time with the exception being steaks at busy times. I will say that I like a lot of their food. Typical pub that is pretty clean, has a pool table, darts and the brand new VLT casino style machines. Plenty of TVS to catch the games and they turn sound for Oilers games etc on when they are on. They also as a note play some great older tunes that I as well as many attending there love. They do have a two for one burger day on Mondays but just the normal ones which are fine and dandy as is. Wednesday is wing night, I believe Tuesdays are Taco nights, Thursday is fish and chips and they have Karaoke on Saturdays. Sound is not so super buy hey I am picky and it is not bad. Draft prices are pretty fair for this location as well. I really like the interaction of the owner with patrons however I must say that almost 80% of the time the waitresses seem to not either be happy or just not into their jobs. It is one of the reasons the score is not higher actually. Bartenders are personable and friendly. Just gotta polish up them waitresses. I would say it is a great place to hold an after work get together or even a function of some sort. We love this cozy little pub in Riverbend. It's great to have something like this, locally owned, in our neighbourhood. We used to spend our date nights on the other side of 40 Ave at Boston Pizza, but one day we just decided to give this place a try. We won't go back to BP! The Bend is really cozy, and pub-like. Pool tables and VLT machines and large TVs to catch the game, there is something for everyone. There are bar stools and full tables, so whatever you are in the mood for. The last couple of date nights were on a Sunday and each time there was also a "paint night" going on. We love that the community comes here, and we often bump into other couples we know also out on date night! It's a +18 only, so we have to get a babysitter, but it's worth it! The menu is good. The wings and nachos are great and Sonia the pizza. The pizza is small though, considering the price. There are not a ton of vegetarian options, but the menu does offer choice overall. The music is good, and we haven't been but we hear there is Karaoke on Friday nights. An all around super neighbourhood joint, where everyone knows your name. Our very own "Cheers". read more

Disappointment over the last three years unfortunately. I found this little community pub nestled behind an Esso. Initially my husband and I were so enthusiastic and became regulars. We enjoyed the halibut, cheddar stuffed burger & don't forget the ridiculously delicious peppercorn mushroom whiskey gravy for the perfectly salty home cut fries. Not only has there been three menu changes with decline in product quality but the service has declined to a point where I will never return. Today a friend and I tried this nook after I amped it up. To my embarrassment we were met with what seemed like annoyance. Our order was Nachos. They were cold as the only server was on a personal call and the cook came out of the kitchen to alert the order ready. We received cold and charred nachos and requested for a reorder. After feeling punitive, we heard loudly "Jesus Christ" as the server walked away from our table. Mind you, at 1215pm, we were the only food customers. The server, whom I believe to be the manager/owner loudly said in the kitchen we were ridiculous. At this point we were terribly uncomfortable and requested to pay for our beverages. We were met with hostility. He printed our receipt and crumpled it and threw it at my friends feet. Never again. In the last two years I have attempted to dine at The Bend three times in an attempt to support this small local business in my community. The Bend is a highly underrated food spot in Edmonton. Mentionable food items. 1. Get the Chicken Bacon Carbonerra. AMAZING. Fresh made pasta every day. oh man. 2. Cheap wings on Wednesday and Oilers games. Reaaaally good hot wings, and I'm a hot wing guy. 3. The burger is really good 4. Not sure about this place. It's comfortable enough with well-placed TV's. The mulligatawny soup was great, but the naan bread was horrible. Some frozen dough maybe? The chef had no idea what naan was supposed to look like or taste like. If you are unsure about something, I don't think you should be serving it. Went here last night for the fish and chip special, the service was meh, it your not friends with Rob the bartender your going to be waiting a while, we were finally able to place our order with the waitress, still took for ever, when I got the fish and chips I was very disappointed, they looked like 4 small fish fingers, looking around I noticed the regulars had huge portions, so big they were packaging them up and taking home the left overs, very disappointed , seems like a very cool place but I guess it your not in with the staff your out ! read more

I woke up every day without purpose or joy and no reasonable expectation to expect anything more but then one day my car broke down in front of the bend. So I went in and I haven't been the same since. It's amazing. From the delicious menu to the thirst quenching draft beer I've found my nirvana. The vlts are pretty much guaranteed to pay your tab so don't sweat it...and if your lucky pat and Collin will be there to make you piss your pants laughing. The coasters are visually stunning.
